Bro, I've watch several videos and none have guided me as your videos have. Yours are informative, tutorial, and a guide all at once. You speak slowly when necessary to convey a message and you explain very well and clearly. I need that especially when I'm confused or don't quite understand. Thank you bro for your patience and kindness.
Some tips I've learned: - Some bosses on higher difficulties have combo strings that can end in either a blue or yellow attack. These can be borderline impossible to react to, because the blue attacks often come out so fast that you need to dodge them before the tell appears, but the yellow attacks are timed so they will hit you if you start dodging before they come out. At first, it seems like a coin flip as to whether or not you will take damage no matter what you do, but there is one solution to both problems: jumping. Jumping will move you out of the way of both yellow and blue attacks. You can even dodge in mid-air if you need a little extra hang time. - Later in the game, both characters' L3 + R3 abilities will become vital to their combat loop, so invest in them to max them out ASAP, learn how they work, and what bonuses they give so you can maximize their usefulness. To be more specific; Miles gets a super damaging AOE explosion centered on himself, and Peter gets a powerful rage mode that makes him invincible and extremely strong for as long as it lasts. - When maxed out, Miles L3 + R3 will also give him a full three bars of focus. This is incredibly useful, as it allows you to do huge damage, get a clutch heal, _and_ still have enough left over for some finishers. You're going to want to use those finishers too, as they fill up a huge amount of your Mega Venom gage, allowing you to L3 + R3 again _very_ quickly. - Peter's Rage mode is also incredibly powerful. It doesn't give you focus, but using it automatically heals you to at least half health, and again, you're fully invincible while it's active. Peter will automatically do finishing animations on most enemies in this state, and your gage stops decreasing during these animations, so try to take advantage. When maxed, this state also makes your abilities fill super fast when it's active, and fully refills *ALL* your abilities when it expires, so the best way to maximize it is to use any abilities you still have available, activate the state, use any abilities that refill during the state, and then you will still end up with four full abilities when it's over.
@@ArktixOfficialone things aswell if you have all skill’s unlocked you’ll have the skill that increases the bar gauge earnings to mega venom blast and symbiote rage and give you max focus when using mega venom blast (idk bout symbiote rage tho) if you use all three bars on a finisher it’ll max out the gauge so three gauges equal mega venom blast quite useful
Simply an incredibly enjoyable game, couldn't put the controller down! If there's one criticism for me, is that instead of the tedious collectibles like Spiderbots, I'd have preferred more actual side missions like the museum musical instruments or the Flame. But I can put all that aside when the game does such a good job making you feel like Spiderman!
Totally feel you on the side content. Felt like Insomniac cut down on the tedium of the 2018 game, but didn’t replace it with quality. Still, I loved my time playing.
To be honest, though, making The Flame Cletus felt odd to me. He was always just an insane villain who just didn't care. I believe that it's good to give characters depth but realistically there are people like Cletus and us having too much sympathy or understanding of the villains can lead to us not feeling as if it's our job to foil their plans.
@@Sal-fg3rs Yeah but how many Joker clone characters do we need? If they just try to make Cletus "insane" for the sake of insane, it will just feel like store-brand Joker. I think organized terrorist maniac is a better direction than just "he's crazy, he kills people, thats about it."
Great video, definitely learned a few things. One thing I like to do is use the short cut for the charge jump and when I’m getting swarmed I use it then follow up with the ground strike from way high. Helps to build focus and helps on the mysterio side missions.
also another tip that he didn't talk about is that when after you hold triangle to throw webbed enemies you can press square right after to fast throw instead of waiting the whole spinning animation you can't do with the object unfortunately
Thanks for sharing this! Actually, I was just playing around with this and if you map left/right on the d-pad to L1+R1 throw you CAN throw faster! It only works on the ground though, not mid-air. Still pretty nice 👌🏼
I am so glad you're doing Spider-Man 2 content! Also there is one really underrated move that might make combat easier for some: after performing a perfect dodge which instantly webs up a light enemy (or after webbing them up using gadgets), holding triangle and L2+R2 will slam them into the ground instantly webbing them to it. You can also hold triangle with L2 or R2 individually to push a webbed up enemy into a nearby wall for an easy KO, or to just throw them off a roof!
A really powerful gadget combo is ricochet web + web grabber. When the web grabber pulls in webbed up enemies and they slam into each other near the ground they'll get get webbed to the ground for instant K/O - this combo can take out a lot of enemies for cheap. Additionally the ricochet web will web up enemies that are on the ground already, so anything that knocks enemies on their ass + ricochet web will clean house. Webbing enemies to surfaces is real strong

I found a great trick with the Directional Yank/Slam Down and the Ricochet Web. A fully upgraded Ricochet will hit almost every enemy, and if they're near a wall, you can use the Directional Yank to web them against the surface. You can also use the Slam Down to shove them to the ground.

I always loved doing a swing kick, with the triangle follow up to throw them up, then hold X to throw them up higher, then directional slam them with both triangle and R2+L2. My go to combo for any pesky ranged enemies who ruins my flow cus i have to dodge
The jump off enemy is also a really simple way to spice up combos ie jump off then web slam, weapon yank or use ability. Using this, swing kick, and web throw + bounce is off ground, can lead to really nice combo strings.
THANK YOU. I was growing insanely frustrated with how to to ground slam. Kept accidentally doing in occasionally and could never see why i couldn’t. I don’t understand why they give no instruction not even list it among official moves list in the game when you go through the menu
One trick I've learnt: You can air launch enemy, then yank them down to ground, and immediately web them up. It's like webbing them up against a wall. This makes multi-combat a lot easier

3:07 also you get the skills to increase damage in the air as long as you don't fall. Your doing 50% more damage, I try to make it a challenge to fight everyone in the air... And use the --> shortcut to yank/disarm enemies. Makes it super easy in air.
Finally pulled the trigger and got my PS5 (Slim SM2 Bundle) and came back to this vid. Good thing I did; I thought the abilities "cooled down" on their own like the GOW abilities, but it turns out you have to do stuff for that to happen. Enjoying the hell out of this game. How do you like to take out brutes early on?
Yk having that air yank as the other shortcut could come in handy I’ll try (charge jump is the other). I just hope for the next game you can still shortcut these ones.
Nice video, although I disagree with using miles most often. After you get the symbiote abilities for Peter, using Pete is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better. Personally I use mostly aerial attacks because I just love kicking butt in the air :)
Arktix is the KING of gameplay tips. Learned so much from you in Horizon Forbidden West and I was stoked to see you're playing this game too. Might not be in your wheelhouse but after Spiderman 2 I'm planning to try Remnant 2. Any chance you're eyeing that game? Seems like a lot of mechanics and builds available to master which is what you do best!
I already beat the game but I'm gonna do another playthrough and I didn't know quite a few of these tips. I keep 1 of my shortcuts as the fnsm app so I can switch more naturally lol
@Arktix awesome, as far as gameplay practice goes I am having a hard time hitting parries and I honestly didn’t realize there was a game speed setting that I could turn all the way down to 30% of the normal game speed so, I may do that and then gradually increase the game speed as I get used to parries until I’ve eventually mastered parries at the full game speed. Seeing as I have beaten the game once already, I have to say, not learning and having the muscle memory to be able to consistently parry was a pain in the ass by the time I got to The Lizard in the sewers at about the halfway point of the campaign, I honesty thought parries were a suggestion but, they almost feel mandatory to master to be able to have an easier time with the last half of the game that is very boss heavy. I will definitely have to take my time to master parries early on in the campaign as I started a fresh save file to improve at the combat system to prepare for new game plus in a separate save file from the 1st save which I already have a platinum in and I’m not making the same mistake I did with the 2018 games PS5 remaster where I accidentally deleted my 100% save which was annoying to say the least.
Prowler strike I didn’t know I was so confused like they tell u about it but not really how to do it unless I’m wrong but been lul min since I’ve seen the ending again

Funny thing I learned about parrying, it isn’t nearly as tight as you would think You can just mash L1 as soon as you see the spidey sense or the enemy attack indicator turn red Really helps with the “get off me” counter attacks the bigger symbiote and shield bearers/brutes have so you can just keep wailing on them

I think he prefers Mile's gameplay since he said to upgrade his skill tree first and that he has better abilities overall, but he also could prefer Peter and didn't want to spoil some Symbiote abilities.

This game is easily 10/10 Masterpiece game🔥💪 For me it's the best Super-Hero game of All time... It literally improved 200 times upon every single aspect like traversal, combat, open world, missions, side missions, story, villains, boss fights are epic, Best intro boss fight🔥character development, feels truly next gen, Spider-Man has web wings which are buttery smooth🔥 and we finally got the Web Swinging assist option which on turning the value down makes the Web Swinging real physics based which makes the Best Web Swinging in any Spider-Man game... It's easily my Game of the Year 2023😌💯💯🏆🏆

Yeah I was actually going to suggest Mysteriums since you can just fail them to replay, but like you said only Miles can go in. What I did was I found a Hunter’s Blind/base and made a manual save just before heading in. Then I could reload the save to replay it. Hope that helps!
I use a Scuff actually, so it has 4 back paddles. I map them all to the D-pad. So, healing, the 2 left/right customizable shortcuts, and invisibility for Miles. With 2 paddles on the Edge, I would map one paddle to healing and another to the L1+R1 object throw. Hope that helps!
It's too bad that Miles' Camo was nerfed so much from his game to this one. Understandable that they probably didn't want Miles to have such a baked-in advantage over Peter but now it feels like an overlooked, underutilized aspect of Miles' toolkit. So it's good to know Prowler gives Miles a special camo attack! Just finished my last Prowler stash last night and wondered what that tech he gave me was all about.
the Thunder Burst for Miles might be bugged, it didn't register in the combo meter, and it reset my combo count (few times) for no reason even though i didn't get hit (i rewatched my gameplay footage in 0.5x). Anyone encounter the same problem?
Ah yes, looking cool while fighting an enemy. Only for the cutscene to show that I was beaten up by the very same boss I've been using as a floor mop. -_-
One thing about the Prowler Strike is that it doesn't seem to work on bosses. Spoiler; I tried to use it on both Mr. Negative and Peter, but I never saw the purple burst that follows when I hit Grunts or Brutes.
I feel like a terrible player, getting my butt kicked so many times, mostly by bosses but even some enemies are hard. I am playing on normal and also through a projector that has pretty terrible latency for gaming, so that might be why my parry window timing feels so trash.
Insomniac: How can we lose this one guy as Spiderman games fan!? Insomniac😂:Lets add in an impossible parry mechanic so they HAVE to play on less than Ultimate to even feel good about playing
My brudda.. no.. pete has the better combat because he can mix and match and not to mention he does more damage on his symbiote abilites. Miles is a balance. Pete has utlity (the arms) and brute force (symbiote) you can test it yourself.
Good game minus the annoying bits they're removing for other countries 💀 I thought there was a new move where you could ride the enemies like a skateboard and miles almost does it so i assumed id eventually unlock the ability but after completing everything it doesn't seem to actually be a move so i think i may be thinking of web of shadows 🤷♂️

The music museum was my favorite! The ending was just so sweet!
Fact: If you use swing kick constantly with Peter in free roam it looks like the 60s Spider-Man swinging style

Finally pulled the trigger and got my PS5 (Slim SM2 Bundle) and came back to this vid. Good thing I did; I thought the abilities "cooled down" on their own like the GOW abilities, but it turns out you have to do stuff for that to happen. Enjoying the hell out of this game.

Nice video, although I disagree with using miles most often. After you get the symbiote abilities for Peter, using Pete is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better. Personally I use mostly aerial attacks because I just love kicking butt in the air :)
Arktix is the KING of gameplay tips. Learned so much from you in Horizon Forbidden West and I was stoked to see you're playing this game too. Might not be in your wheelhouse but after Spiderman 2 I'm planning to try Remnant 2. Any chance you're eyeing that game? Seems like a lot of mechanics and builds available to master which is what you do best!

@Arktix awesome, as far as gameplay practice goes I am having a hard time hitting parries and I honestly didn’t realize there was a game speed setting that I could turn all the way down to 30% of the normal game speed so, I may do that and then gradually increase the game speed as I get used to parries until I’ve eventually mastered parries at the full game speed.
Seeing as I have beaten the game once already, I have to say, not learning and having the muscle memory to be able to consistently parry was a pain in the ass by the time I got to The Lizard in the sewers at about the halfway point of the campaign, I honesty thought parries were a suggestion but, they almost feel mandatory to master to be able to have an easier time with the last half of the game that is very boss heavy.
I will definitely have to take my time to master parries early on in the campaign as I started a fresh save file to improve at the combat system to prepare for new game plus in a separate save file from the 1st save which I already have a platinum in and I’m not making the same mistake I did with the 2018 games PS5 remaster where I accidentally deleted my 100% save which was annoying to say the least.
Prowler strike I didn’t know I was so confused like they tell u about it but not really how to do it unless I’m wrong but been lul min since I’ve seen the ending again
Amazing video. Learnt a lot. I’m however having issues keeping height after an air combo and i fall to the ground quickly. Any tips to maintain height so that multiple air combos can be achieved?
At 4:14 I don't have a suit tech tree available. I am guessing this is tied to later in the game missions?
Funny thing I learned about parrying, it isn’t nearly as tight as you would think
You can just mash L1 as soon as you see the spidey sense or the enemy attack indicator turn red
Really helps with the “get off me” counter attacks the bigger symbiote and shield bearers/brutes have so you can just keep wailing on them
Tried this on ultimate difficulty against sym enemies and it seems like it does work with a couple misses cause I probably wasn’t mashing fast enough
So it’s dmc royal guard in some sense😂

Been doing the parrying wrong all the time. Most games have red as non parryable attacks, so I keep dodging them 🥺
7:35 I forgot which upgrade does this, but each web you shoot will give you one health back if it hits an enemy if you get whatever upgrade this is
We need a new game+ option ASAP. Just platinumed the game on amazing difficulty. I wanna beat it again but on the hardest difficulty with all skills and suits unlocked.

I think he prefers Mile's gameplay since he said to upgrade his skill tree first and that he has better abilities overall, but he also could prefer Peter and didn't want to spoil some Symbiote abilities.
Isn't L2 a slow motion mechanism? Why don't you use that instead for those flights?
Probably been answered before but I'm wondering what's the control to simply jump up and down without it shooting webs? This messes me up so much in game, just need a simple jump feature haha.
What, press X to jump? R2+X to charge jump. Neither shoot webs if you are on the ground.

I‘m actually replaying this game on ultimate and not adding points into my strength at all. I just want to keep the combos going forever. Even on the hardest difficulty this game is easy.
I have a question, how do you do the move where Spider-Man in the air hits the enemy with a hammer fist and slams them into the ground? I can not figure out how to do it at all and there is nowhere that says how to.
Do you mean the ground slam that I covered in the video?

Thunder burst for miles doesn't count in combo meter. anyone knows why? it's a bit frustrating.
You can just pull enemies into the air and jump off them to throw them off roofs so the swing kick is pointless
I see a lot of prototype 2 in spiderman....if any one knows they canned the spiderman game an made prototype 2 the tendril move is just like the web grabber brings everyone together but they explode and the way heller glides is exactly like the glide suit on spiderman 2...ps please bring back heller an mercer
This game is easily 10/10 Masterpiece game🔥💪 For me it's the best Super-Hero game of All time... It literally improved 200 times upon every single aspect like traversal, combat, open world, missions, side missions, story, villains, boss fights are epic, Best intro boss fight🔥character development, feels truly next gen, Spider-Man has web wings which are buttery smooth🔥 and we finally got the Web Swinging assist option which on turning the value down makes the Web Swinging real physics based which makes the Best Web Swinging in any Spider-Man game... It's easily my Game of the Year 2023😌💯💯🏆🏆

Hey @arktixofficial, as bases are non-replayable this time can you suggest a place to practice all your tips (i found one Mysterio missions has infinite enemies but only miles can play em)
Yeah I was actually going to suggest Mysteriums since you can just fail them to replay, but like you said only Miles can go in. What I did was I found a Hunter’s Blind/base and made a manual save just before heading in. Then I could reload the save to replay it. Hope that helps!
Do you use a Duelsense Edge? If so any button mapping suggestions for SM2?
I use a Scuff actually, so it has 4 back paddles. I map them all to the D-pad. So, healing, the 2 left/right customizable shortcuts, and invisibility for Miles. With 2 paddles on the Edge, I would map one paddle to healing and another to the L1+R1 object throw. Hope that helps!

It's too bad that Miles' Camo was nerfed so much from his game to this one. Understandable that they probably didn't want Miles to have such a baked-in advantage over Peter but now it feels like an overlooked, underutilized aspect of Miles' toolkit.
So it's good to know Prowler gives Miles a special camo attack! Just finished my last Prowler stash last night and wondered what that tech he gave me was all about.

the Thunder Burst for Miles might be bugged, it didn't register in the combo meter, and it reset my combo count (few times) for no reason even though i didn't get hit (i rewatched my gameplay footage in 0.5x). Anyone encounter the same problem?
When u have to follow the drones u can just pause the game and then click skip activity 😂

One thing about the Prowler Strike is that it doesn't seem to work on bosses.

I tried to use it on both Mr. Negative and Peter, but I never saw the purple burst that follows when I hit Grunts or Brutes.
I feel like a terrible player, getting my butt kicked so many times, mostly by bosses but even some enemies are hard. I am playing on normal and also through a projector that has pretty terrible latency for gaming, so that might be why my parry window timing feels so trash.

My brudda.. no.. pete has the better combat because he can mix and match and not to mention he does more damage on his symbiote abilites. Miles is a balance. Pete has utlity (the arms) and brute force (symbiote) you can test it yourself.

Good game minus the annoying bits they're removing for other countries 💀 I thought there was a new move where you could ride the enemies like a skateboard and miles almost does it so i assumed id eventually unlock the ability but after completing everything it doesn't seem to actually be a move so i think i may be thinking of web of shadows 🤷♂️
