  • Best friends Becky and Mei-Li are inseparable - but when one of the bactrian camels developes a lesion on her hump that doesn't seem to be healing, the zookeepers are forced to step in. Will Becky survive going under?
The Bactrian camel, also known as the Mongolian camel or domestic Bactrian camel, is a large even-toed ungulate native to the steppes of Central Asia. It has two humps on its back, in contrast to the single-humped dromedary camel. Its population of two million exists mainly in the domesticated form.
From The Secret Life of the Zoo: This series gives viewers behind the scenes access to Chester Zoo's 21,000 animals and the people who work there. The zoo's keepers are interviewed in each episode about the various animals and incidents, whether it's orangutans escaping their enclosure or tigers getting into scraps.

The camel is a majestic animal, but sometimes it needs our help.

Hmm. Trying to put a camel in the recovery position isn't really an option is it?! 🤔
I do like these little clips but I get fed up with the story being left hanging with no clue as to if or when a resolution or conclusion will be shown

This channel along with John Downer productions (they make all the animal animatronics that file animals in the wild), Susan bird (she free swims with whales and such) are absolutely soothing for my traumatic ptsd. I thank you for taking care of these animals and teach us as well as the animals thriving, and thank you so much for sharing this with the world. On days like this, I watch as many of your clips as I can and am ever so grateful!
    Much respect from Canada

It looks like they dislocate their jaw while chewing! I know they don't but the way their mouths move side to side it looks that way.

I had a knee replaced not long ago and have been through surgery more than the average human due to multiple medical issues, this is why you’re not even allowed water before surgery or even an endoscopy

I was surprised as well, that was very unprofessional of them to not have the animal starved before the procedure.

I had a patch of skin that was rough that wouldn’t heal, I did hot compresses and honey bandages; it took a little over a month, but it worked

Yea, it’s real cute having women do this job. Until, in comes time to physically move a 2,000 pound animal… lol

It’s cute? You think they’re only in there because they’re cute, but actually worthless? You’re implying a man could lift the 2,000 pound animal?
