This is so very beautiful. I have been watching your videos like it’s my job! You are very talented and I love that you’re saving these beauties from the landfill.
You're kind of my new hero. I like the mostly-silent videos because you allow the viewer to get sucked in into the process. As for this dresser... I was like.. oh no. Pls don't paint over it but... hats off. It turned out great! Congrats
I watched a few of your videos and found them interesting,. Then I ran into this one! I have this identical piece and it was in rough shape but solid. I did this exact process to mine abd it’s getting ooohhhhhs and ahhhhhhhs! Love it thank you!
I love it!!! I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the furniture piece beside the current project you're working on. It has the gold ring handles on it!!
Have fun painting! It’ll be great just watch a few tutorials (which you probably already have) and start painting! I would love to see what you do! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful and blessed creativity with others! I’ve been dealing with health problems for decades now. I used to make all kinds of things for family and friends... now because of my physical disabilities and the chronic pain that some times makes me, literally paralyzed by pain, I try to find a way to make my brain to focus on something else other than the 24/7 excruciating physical pain. My mind over matter techniques for pain, includes watching videos that I can learn something from it! Even though I cannot make any of these beautiful creations, just by watching it being transformed from a simple object to something beautiful to decorate, to use it in different ways, it’s very helpful to me... in my mind’s eyes I can see so many ways to create things, helps me by keeping my brain from focusing only on the pain. Just as now, I’m focusing on this message, the pain doesn’t disappears, but the brain isn’t being bombarded by the pain, when it’s focused on something else. Thank you all the beautiful minds that are so blessed with these amazing talents and ideas, and aren’t afraid to share it with others! May the Lord double your blessed creativities as you share and teach others around the world! 😊
You are amazing!! And you inspired me...found the exact same wardrobe. But I want to paint it classic white using rustoleum and then age it with dark wax. Do you think the white will cover the wood without bleeding through paint? Thank you so much for tutorial. You are an artist
I have a beautiful waterfall vanity & mirror circa same era as this and some of the veneer is missing on the side just a little bit. It's a struggle to decide whether to paint or try to restore ( which I have no interest in doing but apparently makes it worth more) it to sell. It's in great condition except a few small places smh. People will either love or absolutely hate whatever we choose to do all that matters is what we enjoy doing!
Sandra Weiler so it all depends on wether the drawers sit flush or hang over the borders. If they sit flush, inside the borders there’s no need to remove them. If they have a nice trim to them and sit over the border then you have to take them out in order to paint behind them. Hope this helps, it’s hard to explain without pictures!
You are one talented young lady. This is gorgeous! I just recently did my first project using chalk paint ( I know I'm late) but I'm binge watching your videos to get myself ready to tackle a tv armoire. Just trying to decide on a color. Do you ever use polycyclic to seal? That's what I used on my desk. I'm just afraid to waste money and try using a wax.
Maybe you can try going to a shop that sells chalk painted furniture and see what wax does to a piece. That would be the best way to compare it to poly, sometimes pictures are deceiving! I totally love wax over poly!
Depends on where you live. It's not just one place you have to look everywhere. I go to private sellers, antique shops, auctions, estate sales, craiglist, facebook marketplace etc... Sometimes it's timing, sometimes its luck!
@@KachaFurniture i only asked that question because I was thinking wax does not harden? I have no experience with wax and thinking poly can shine it more and protect the furniture longer time. If im wrong then i wont bother with poly. whats your advice pm that?
Aubrey Harris I personally do not like the shiny and plastic-ish look of poly. Also it can change and yellow lighter colors. I prefer wax because it’s a matte finish and gives chalk paint more character. It does harden and cure over time and protects very well. If it’s something that will be used heavily like a table top, that’s when I’ll use a poly for added protection. That’s my personal preference.
I still think. about buying AS paint. I Use to paint with artistic acrylic because they are saturated with color, it was mat with an artistic brush, and then polyurethane, polish with car wax This what You doing looks faster, thank You for sharing. Are You Polish Kacha?
That glaze came with a kit I purchased for kitchen cabinets. Its called Rustoleum transformations or something like that. I am pretty sure they sell the glaze separately as well at Home Depot!
LOVE the color! Do you use any other colored waxes? Other than the metallic ones for hardware? I haven’t used waxes at all and they’re intimidating to me 🙀
Bethanie Buschmann wax is very easy to use. It’s my favorite thing for hardware. Don’t let them intimidate you! You can apply it with your finger, if you make a mistake you can use mineral spirits to remove it. I only use gold and silver when it comes to gilding wax! Hope this helps!
I have a question, so how do you paint over the hardware/hinges and not have it peel off? I have been following you for a while and I see that you do it often. I am working on a piece now and decided to paint over the hinges the way you do but once they are dry and the door gets opened or closed the paint rubs/chips off. Thanks in advance ♥️
So I found the same exact wardrobe as in this video abd I shellacked it before painting. I used rustoleum linen white but then when I used the rustoleum matte clear coat, it yellowed up on me. Ugh! What did I do wrong. Can I paint over the clear coat. So frustrated bc it took a long time to paint, distress and clear coat it. Any help?
Ritz hi Ritz! When using chalk paint, specially light colors like white, you want to use the wax made for chalk paints! Polyurethane and other types of clear coats will yellow put the paint! Sorry you had to go through this but atleast now you know!
@@KachaFurniture thank you so much. I worked it out. Had to paint the wardrobe again, but you're right, now I know. Ty for yiu help and your response. Keep creating beautiful things....this community really enjoys your work.

Kacha the dresser does look amazing. I kept falling asleep cause of the music. I didn’t give a thumbs up or down.

Annie Sloan is my favorite chalk paint 🖐 🤚 hands down! I am not familiar with the gilding wax; is it Annie Sloan as well? This piece is beautiful! ♥️
The one I am using is not Annie Sloan but she does make gilding wax now! I am using a company called Pebeo, I've linked them in my description!
What a beautiful piece, you do nice work. What is the reasoning behind not taking the door off and drawers out before you start painting? 😊

hey Kacha, Can I apply a polycrylic water base clear over the finished chalk paint instead of wax? Can I also apply the clear over the black wax?
You can! Be careful of polys, they may yellow over time!
