Maithili Thakur is an Indian playback singer trained in Indian classical music and Folk Music. She has sung original songs, covers, and traditional folk music prominently in Hindi, Maithili, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Tamil, English and more Indic Languages.
In 2011, Thakur appeared in Little Champs, a singing competition television series telecast in Zee TV.[citation needed] Four years later, she contested in Indian Idol Junior, telecast in Sony TV. She won the "I Genius Young Singing Star" competition in 2016, following which she launched her album, Ya Rabba (Universal Music).

I'm 78 years of age. I started listening to Maithili's bhajans and devotional songs only 5 ago. Since then, I want to listen to her songs only. I have not listened to any other single video during this time. I am mesmerized by her voice, the dedication of her entire family and the best upbringing of their children by the parents - all have glued me to the Thakurs' videos. I do not understand either Maithili or even Hindi. But the music and the devotion have bounded me.
In this video, I see for the first time non-Indian traditional music instruments are being used. So, for the first time, I stopped listening after a few minutes. I can't understand why the non-traditional instruments, usually used in pop and film song concerts, were included in this Indian Devotional singing event.

We have viewed this presentation several number of times and it was a very nice program of devotional songs . Very very pleasing tone , finest tuned to sing a bhajan .
