Congratulations @REUX, I have been following your updates on your UX/UI journey and I myself have been looking to pivot into the tech field as of recently. I wanted to ask you how long did it take for you to land a role / internship? And would you recommend Career Foundry as a way to find a role in a company /consultant for someone starting out in this field ? Thanks man and apologies in advance for this essay haha. I started the course in April and got the consultancy job offer in July (starting that job in August whilst still doing the course). I did mention in the video that I was working in consulting before this and even though it was in an unrelated field, I do think it made it easier for me to pivot into a digital consulting role before finally getting this job offer after graduating the course. I also did take a pay cut in the piviot consulting role because I knew how helpful it would be and of course now that's over it has paid off. I do think doing the CareerFoundry course did help me with the pivot role because I knew nothing about tech beforehand. It is a really big commitment though and there are other courses that are shorter, allow you to work with real clients (which is important for the CV/Resume) but of course are more expensive. In conclusion, its a tricky one, but I would say you do thoroughly learn about UX in this CareerFoundry course and having the knowledge is what makes you more comfortable applying for that next job. I weigh up the pros and cons at the end of the "CareerFoundry Review" video on my page so maybe having a relook at that could help you decide

Yes, I definitely think there's a future for UX design, it's certainly become higher on the raider of many organisations and I feel that this is only going to improve. With so many companies offering similar products and services, the user experience they deliver is one of the ways to help them stand out and I think the realisation of this importance is going to continue. If you look at job boards now there are so many UX roles being advertised, I just changed paths slightly as I felt better suited to the product owner/management side of tech 😁
Hi REUX, I am a new subscriber. Do you think it will be easier to find a UX/UI position outside of my country? (I live in the U.S.) I do see a lot of foreigners go to Dubai or Germany for UX/UI design jobs. Is the salary higher?
Hey, that's a lot to answer and not so easy for me as I can only go based off my own experience. I would recommend reaching out to some recruitment consultancies / agencies who can support with the job hunt and would have a better idea of the markets in different countries :)
