I'm red green colorblind, and it's annoying because people always ask me what color something is. It usually ends up being every color except red and green.
***** who says it would provide him with additional happiness? It might, but all he said is it was being annoying. Being annoyed from time to time isn't really an indicator a for happiness. Working extra to "buy happiness", might as well just make him unhappy. Might.
I know it's pretty rare for women to be color blind, because their Mother's would be unaffected carriers while their Father's would display the symptoms actively. But I am color blind as a female. At first I would sometimes notice that I'd refer to an object as a certain color only to be corrected by my peers. Eventually I became interested in the possibility and took the appropriate tests. My main point is that I didn't experience a complete reversal of the colors. It simply feel's like my color palette is slightly skewed. Lighting plays a massive part as well. Night with it's overall darkness and spotted bits of illumination from street lamps makes me feel like I'm on uneven ground, mentally. There is also something I've read but haven't looked too far into: Supposedly peoples with color blindness may go their entire lives without knowing their affliction because the mind learns to avoid difficult color areas.
number one thing people who are color blind hate is when they tell you they're color blind and you start pointing at everything you see asking what it looks like
I get this all the time! I also hate when you get a color wrong then they point to similar colored things and ask you what color it is even though it’s the same all the time.
If I were to explain the colour green to someone colourblind I would try to use their senses or emotions to try to illustrate. For example, when you feel peaceful, that's green. When it tastes fresh, that's green. When you hear a gentle wind, that's green. Basically things that puts people at ease as green is easy and peace-inducing to look at for trichromatic people as it is a neutral colour in the colour spectrum.
Don't forget: some people have a kind of superpower where they have a fourth kind of cone and can see colors between red and green! I wish I had that. :,(
Red Green colourblind here. I don't consider myself disabled. But I must admit that I do often wander what the world looks like through normal human vision. The most annoying, or detrimental aspect of being colourblind is peoples lack of understanding and overall lack of compassion. I realise that it is an interesting topic for most to speak about, but personally I often find that people end up asking questions like "What colour is this?" "Can you see the red light while driving?" "How do you even drive" etc etc. Please understand that the world through the lenses of a colourblind person is almost always more dull in terms of what we see in regards to colour. Take your phones out, take a video then place a filter over the video, one that in your opinion makes colours dull or even completely removes shades of colours. Then welcome yourself to the world of colourblindness.
I thought on that "2" test it was going to be a small 2 in the very center. I didn't see one so I started to get worried I had been living for 13 years without knowing I was colorblind. then I looked at the big picture and realized the 2 was very large. I feel very sorry for anyone here who is colorblind, especially if they're annoyed/bullied (you know, it could differ) about it constantly. it's kind of strange reading your comments about your colorblind experiences and trying to imagine it...
I have a friend who's colorblind, though I'm not sure what kind, exactly. From what I understand, he can't differentiate between similar colors, orange being the only one he can consistently recognize. On St. Patrick's Day, he got into my car and asked me if his shirt was green. I informed him that no, it was blue. Frustrated, he threw on a sweatshirt and asked if he was good /now/. I had to tell him that no, that was grey. He later threw on a sweatshirt from his locker. Which was purple. On the opposite side of things, (and to answer the question) I have synesthesia, which means that certain things (numbers, letters, emotions) have colors to me. To me, the color green is the number five, the letter z, the smell of fresh cut grass, violin music, pre-show jitters, and the first sunny day after a long rainy spell.
I have a slight case of colour blindness. One eye sees red as more tomato-colored, and the other eye as more cherry-colored. I do graphic design with vivid colour schemes all the time, and I can pass colour-blindness tests, but I just see red two different ways. Also in dim light I have problems distinguishing some shades of brown from purple.
colorblind... not because I was born with it. It's a rare side effect of my medicine. I see blue, green, yellow, and orange as gray. I know what they all look like because I wasn't born colorblind. So and embarssing moment? I have a couple. here's 2. Me: *is staring at the screen, watching this video, very confused looking* My Freind: What's wrong? Me: Why the gray... 0-0... so much gray... my mom just starts laughing from her room as my friend says "g-gray? its... that blue tink..." and my eyes just grow so wide... you have no idea... Story #2: I am in art class at my school, and this week is color wheel week. Now yes, My art teacher barely knows about my colorblindness. So here I am coloring my yellow and my partner(the person sitting next to me) looks at me and whispers "You know, yellow isn't the same as sky blue." and I just look down at the crayon I was holding and see the words "sky blue" on the side. Now I have a while mob of kids around me saying " Why is your yellow blue?" "Are you crazy?" "Do you need an eraser?"... Yet me for not reading.
And one time this kid looks at a paper that he colored and he goes "what kind of green is this color?" And I say "g... green?" and he laughs and says " I knew it! you aren't colorblind!" and I'm just sitting here looking at him like... "dafaq?"
1 of those rare female colourblind persons here! And as such, one of things I struggle with the most is going clothes shopping; I always need someone with "normal" colour vision with me as a guide. One of the few times I went alone resulted in me buying what I thought was a yellow outfit, but was actual puke green! Feminine things like that are just frustrating (probably a contributing factor in being a tomboy)! I also can't tell if meat (or other foodstuff) is cooked just by looking at it. Fortunately there are tips and tricks floating around, but sadly it still doesn't help improve my cooking prowess!
My friends dad is colorblind and he saw pink as blue. So he thought he had this really cool looking blue skateboard, but people started making fun of him for riding a pink skateboard.
Im a Dichromat, ( Red cone defficient or a "Protanope"). i first found out i had colour blindness when in a test, it said i needed to copy down the Red writing on the first sheet of paper and the Green and Orange on the 2nd sheet of paper. Well, they all just looked yellow to me. I flunked that test, but that encouraged me to go and get tested. Turns out that my eyes had no response to the colour red so that mean that Red, or any colour made from red such as : Red, Orange, Some Greens and Pink, i cant tell the difference from.
1000! Also, I would describe green as a calming color, the color of nature, and a peaceful color. It can also be greedy, like money, and is tart, like a Granny Smith apple.
I would describe it to my friend, (She cant see green) that green is a calming and soothing colour. Fresh represents green and the soft texture of the grass and trees are also green.
I have some colorbindness. I have always struggled to distinguish the yellow light from the red light when driving. And I have also struggled with purple and navy blue. Although I've learned that sometimes if I take a picture with my phone I can distinguish colors better, I guess because of how the colors are displayed.
I'm olny a little colorblind but I still am also is it possible to get over color blindness because red and green used to look exactly the same but now I can tell the difference easily...sometimes
I am also red-green deficient, I get annoyed when people ask too. After awhile I started messing with peoples perception of me. This is what I did, As soon as someone finds out I'm colorblind they just have to ask me the color of something around them. I find that people generally turn to their shirt or other piece of clothing and ask what color it is. My practiced response is "what shirt?" They don't think through it most of the time even though my statement is very wrong. I've witnessed some great reactions. If you are colorblind you can use this tactic too, If you like. ( Be kind and tell them about what color difficency is really about after the joke has been made. That is if they will ever let you see them again!)
Somebody in my school can only see in shades of grey, supposedly...he's a Star Trek nerd with anger problems and is fairly dumb, haven't really talked to him.
Dylan Guide Yeah I'm sorry man, with exams I just kind of stopped. It was taken too long to make the videos and I didn't have anything that I felt was interesting to post. I'm honestly not sure if I will continue posting, I will still make art and post on tumblr, so if you do want to see my work it will be there.
Thank you for not including Tritanope/Tritanomaly... *sobing in corner What I think is the hardest as a color blind person is actively trying to avoid buying clothes in the color(s) you can't distinguish and having to ask people about them. I always have to ask if my clothes are fitting color wise or if I look funny. But also like when writing, I never use blue fonts because I wouldn't be able to tell if two titles/objects/pictures are the same and probably ruining the output.
I have a friend which sees white as pink (he also sees pink normally, white is just a specific shade of pink for him) which is weird cause its winter now and I'm thinking how he sees all the snow as pink
I have anomalous trichromacy and the most difficult thing about this is your mainly you'll notice it when you take medical exams for work thus getting into specialised professions is difficult or impossible such as mechanic, seaman, pilot, to name a few.
I didnt saw the number two on the circle but i see all the colors properly and I looked at the picture for 7-10 secs. thats the only time I saw the nuber 2 but after 3-10 secs. I dint see the number 2 again.
I have a friend that i think is colour blind because he got a lot of tests wrong and thought that my dark purple crayon was dark blue. I showed him a picture of multicolored circles: green, dark green and orange. The green ones were on the left and the orange ones were on the right. When i told him to describe the picture he said that there are yellow, brown and red circles and that they are all equally spread out over the picture. What does that mean? What type of colour blindness does he have?
I'm colourblind and I'm a huge football (soccer from America) fan and when I used to play for my team our kit was a dark purple and our opponent once had a lighter shade of purple and I couldn't easily see the difference between the two. I ended up passing to the opposite team 7 times, conceding 3 goals and making us lose the game
Fun Fact- Mark Zuckerberg, The creator of Facebook, Is Red-Green Colourblind. He chose blue as the site's colour because its the colour he can see the easiest.
I know several people who are color blind. One of them said they were color blind to yellow, so I asked them what color the pencil was, and they said yellow. Still doesn't make sense.
I'm red green colorblind and the most annoying parts are when people look at you like you're insane/dumb for asking what color something is and then, being asked what color lots of things are. only to get them all right and, confuse the other person about what color blindness actually is.
im colour blind and i hate it when i say im color blind and someone says whats this colour. i can still see colours but when you put like a dark green and a dark red together i cannot tell the difference.
I've always kinda had the idea that colour is relative to the person looking at it, so honestly if I were to describe the colour green to someone who couldn't see it I would say 'the colour of leaves and grass', because although they might not be able to appreciate the subtleties between greens and reds they'd still get the general feel, yknow?
I didn't see a two. Am I color blind. I do have two eye mutations or something but my eyes look normal. I do need glasses though which I have. I'm glad I don't have stickmitism not making fun of the people who have it since my best friend has it. So we both have extra strong glasses with special lenses. Edit: By the way stickmitism is a eye mutation or something that causes your vision to slowly go away until your blind. It can be in both eyes or one. Some people are born with it and some aren't.
I'm blue yellow color blind, which causes me to have trouble distinguishing between green and blue. it's very easy for me to get confused when comparing greens and blues, but it doesn't really hinder me in any way.
My boyfriend is colorblind, and he explains everything as being a very washed out version of what it should be. It's not that he can't decipher between red and green, because he can sometimes. but it's more like dark blue and purple, red and orange, green and yellow. Especially neon yellow, he always thinks it's green. It is so interesting to me, but every time I try to look into his color blindness, I can never find what kind of colorblindness he is describing? it doesn't seem like the blue colorblindness either, because he can see all of the colors, they are just really faint. Great video tho :) wish you would have developed on the colorblindness that causes people to see in shades of gray..? It seems like that is almost what my boyfriend has.
my own brother don't have any colour blind but I have red green colour blind because i tested some ishihara test plates my brother told correctly but I am not able to telling some plates so what to do please explain
I have the second form of colourblindness that you said and I showed the thing that you were spouse to see a "2" on to my dad and he saw it right a way but I can't see it😐
since any and every event that will ever exist is based on stages or things that happen, for example the butter fly effect. Is chance or random really real? or is it just something we use to make life easier.
It's so frustrating when people don't believe I'm colorblind and I'm left thinking "Why would I want to be colorblind and/or why would I lie that I am?"
I tried to think of how to describe a colour but the only colours that could be described vaguely are red (Heat, Hot, High Temparature) and blue (Cool, Water, Low Temparature). You would have to see the colour for yourself to describe a colour perfectly.
Green (a non-rhyming, terrible poem by me) Green is A color A rich, comfortable color The color that takes place of shades of gray The color of the grass, the leaves And asparagus. The color that seems missing From view. The color that completes it all. Green.
I'm training to be an electrician in the UK and i suspect i have a mild form of anomalus trichromacy. I've heard a few people say that i shouldn't try to be an electrician if i was colour deficient, so i asked my teacher and he said i should be fine and tested me on the all the cable colours i got them all right with no difficulty. Does anyone know if there are laws against it in the uk?
I am a mild deutan. one time my friends found out i was colorblind and started asking what color certain things were. i saw everything normal until they asked what color my friends sweatshirt was. I said green, but they said teal. I was so frustrated and still am.
I'm really colorblind. I can only distinguish between the grey scale, brown, tan, purple and blue. But to top that off, I can only see like 5 shades of each of those.
Had a friend in school that's color blind, he said the sky looks purple to him. I remember when he colored things he asked me what color is the pencil he's holding to make sure he's using the right one.
About two years ago, I thought if you were color-blind, you couldn't see any color. And everything was like a black and white movie, since the name is literally colorblind, which implies blind of color. ALL color. Not just SOME colors. One day I looked at the colorblind settings on one of my games, and I was like "How can they even see this if it's literally colors, when they can't see colors?" then I looked up what everything looks like to colorblind people, and it showed me different kinds, and I was SOOOO shocked! Like, my entire understanding of being colorblind went out the window. And there is a test (although it is not TOO good for your eye health) that will allow you to be temporarily colorblind. For me, everything I saw was "filtered" with a light blue shade. It was weird as heck. ;3
|My Question for Thursday|: Why do we get bored in something's but other things not? how does our brain find something boring and what exactly is going in our brain when we are bored? Note: Happy to get a answer from other people or most importantly Life Noggin :)
im very red-green colorblind, so are my brothers, but not as much as me. for some stupid reason we have the same shirt that we use for formal occations, We constantly fight over which one is whos and it usually ends up with my mom needing to tell us which shirt is mine and my brothers. when people say "im in the red car" or if i say it, you know the colors gonna be wrong and ive yet to get this right. (usually brown /black). People have been laughing at me in video games aswell, i pick "nice looking colors" and to others i look like a clown since i cant see it the way they do, so thats fun. I have tons more stories but that should be enough for now... Needless to say : i know what colors for example a stop sign is, its red. I can see colors fine mostly when theyre not close to other colors, but this also depends on the darkness of the colors. 2 fast examples are the "comment" button on youtube, i Assume its blue, but it could easly be blue or purple to me, The "subscribe button" looks orange but i know and assume its red.
i actually know someone who is collorblind to every collor except for purple for some reason. he can tell you what collors were yoused in a black and whigh tv show by sight, for instance the adoms famoly lived in a pink house, it just looks dark in black and whight while allowing contrast
Excellent video! It was a honour to take part!
NerdyAndQuirky Thanks for being so fantastic and entertaining! :D
NerdyAndQuirky Life Noggin Nice collab! You guys are amazing.

I'm red green colorblind, and it's annoying because people always ask me what color something is. It usually ends up being every color except red and green.
Mattab29 I'm sorry ya gotta go through that! Much love! :)
Mattab29 there are color blind glasses called EnChroma check it out

happiness is not expensive you can wait and work extra
***** who says it would provide him with additional happiness? It might, but all he said is it was being annoying. Being annoyed from time to time isn't really an indicator a for happiness.
Working extra to "buy happiness", might as well just make him unhappy. Might.
LOL you scared me for a second, I was like ''what 2????'' it took me a while to figure it out

Ernesto Nunez I didn't see any number, let alone 2.

that happens to me and it’s soo annoying
I always tell people I'm colorblind, not stupid
As far as I've heard, every single color blind person says the exact same thing
Green: its kinda like Blue and Yellow mixed into one...
ok, so the two colors i can see, wow
If I were to explain the colour green to someone colourblind I would try to use their senses or emotions to try to illustrate.

People with the favorite color of green are usually gentle and peaceful people. I like the color green, so does most of my family, so I know
How old are you?
I'm proudly a color blind Graphic Designer! #TeamDichromat (:
Cool
Green skittles taste like apples. Done. 😁
Green looks how Mint gum tastes
But the only reason we make that association is because most mint gum is infact green.
Gabriella Cattani Also, green looks how plants tastes. :P

Violets are red

I can't see that 2 in the center at 1:42, which means i'm colorblind. I think there is a color that is disguising as green or yellow for me
i cant see no 2

Dude I don't see you making more videos ? Its sad your channel is cool !
NortexG - Art yeah i know exam destroy us all :| i hope you come back bro , n hope you the best !
I cannot spend my Monday and Thursday without Life Noggen
I'd show him grass
But he can't see green u idiot lol
Mervan Canoglu i tell him, this is green colour (pointing on grass)
He still can't see green.....
Mervan Canoglu i will say that because when ur colour blind and u can't see green he knows green looks like that to him and then he knows all green
He still does not know what green looks like. He knows what color is equivalent to green, but he still does not know how the color green is.
Thank you for not including Tritanope/Tritanomaly...
*sobing in corner
What I think is the hardest as a color blind person is actively trying to avoid buying clothes in the color(s) you can't distinguish and having to ask people about them. I always have to ask if my clothes are fitting color wise or if I look funny.
But also like when writing, I never use blue fonts because I wouldn't be able to tell if two titles/objects/pictures are the same and probably ruining the output.
I know people talk about red-green colorblindness, but how common is mixing up brown-green and purple-blue? I do mix red and green, but not as often
I have a friend which sees white as pink (he also sees pink normally, white is just a specific shade of pink for him) which is weird cause its winter now and I'm thinking how he sees all the snow as pink
great video. btw, why is over watering plants bad? cant they just stop taking in water when they had enough?
I have anomalous trichromacy and the most difficult thing about this is your mainly you'll notice it when you take medical exams for work thus getting into specialised professions is difficult or impossible such as mechanic, seaman, pilot, to name a few.
I didnt saw the number two on the circle but i see all the colors properly and I looked at the picture for 7-10 secs. thats the only time I saw the nuber 2 but after 3-10 secs. I dint see the number 2 again.
You can describe colors as sounds (red could be very loud) or as structure
Dr. Trayaurus it's nice seeing a comment from 3 years ago that teaches me new things :)
IVE BEEN SUBSCRIBED TO HER FOR A REALLY REALLY LONG TIME AND I NEVER KNEW HER NAME WAS SABRINA
If I had to describe the color green I'd say it's the visible light with a wavelength that falls in the range of 495-570nm. Nailed it.
Blocko, oh gawd your voice is awesome!
my own brother don't have any colour blind but I have red green colour blind because i tested some ishihara test plates my brother told correctly but I am not able to telling some plates so what to do please explain
I have anomalous trichromacy. But I also can't tell the difference between dark colors and black color
green is a good color like being right or going on a stop sign
I have the second form of colourblindness that you said and I showed the thing that you were spouse to see a "2" on to my dad and he saw it right a way but I can't see it😐
since any and every event that will ever exist is based on stages or things that happen, for example the butter fly effect. Is chance or random really real? or is it just something we use to make life easier.
It's so frustrating when people don't believe I'm colorblind and I'm left thinking "Why would I want to be colorblind and/or why would I lie that I am?"
01:42 i couldn't see the 2 at start but after like 3 seconds i saw it
I still can't see it.
i thought at first it was 8
I barely saw the 2. Is that ok or is it good?
I tried to think of how to describe a colour but the only colours that could be described vaguely are red (Heat, Hot, High Temparature) and blue (Cool, Water, Low Temparature). You would have to see the colour for yourself to describe a colour perfectly.
Green (a non-rhyming, terrible poem by me)
Green is
A color
A rich, comfortable color
The color that takes place of shades of gray
The color of the grass, the leaves
And asparagus.
The color that seems missing
From view.
The color
that completes it all.
Green.
That's not a poem at all.
It's not even modernist.
Jesus christ, git gud.
but the person is color blind... so ur poem wouldnt help tbem see green... FAIL
*****
you're tearing me appart
*****
your poem is absolutely not art.
:U
You can't describe green.
The gap of information
makes it difficult.
Nerdy and quirky? I'll check out her channel right away! Sounds interesting
I have moderate tritanomaly ( yellow blue) and you only mentioned red green and green red color blindness.
1:48 At first I didn't see it. I freaked out. But I noticed I still can make myself cross-eyed and I refocused my vision and I saw it.
im actually colourblind and one of the most annoying things is when people pick up an object and are like "what colour is this" i get so annoyed
Im color blind and people seem to always think im lying when i say that, or they assume i cant see color at all
love this channel, need more viewers
That one episode in Adventure Time where Fin finds a ruby for Marceline but by the time he gives it to her, Jake tells him it's actually a jade 😂😁
is it any solution for colour blindness please tell me... please........
What about Tritanomaly? Which way is the cone shifted?
im colour blind and i am a science student and this vid helped me under stand my condition thanks
Had a friend in school that's color blind, he said the sky looks purple to him.
I remember when he colored things he asked me what color is the pencil he's holding to make sure he's using the right one.
Trolley Head I'm like that too.
Where do you find this theme song?
I saw the 2 but it wasn't really clear is that normal?
My friend is colorblind
i have extreme deutan and i cant tell the difference between blue-purple and gray-pink
It was weird as heck. ;3
I'm colorblind and when I play over watch I see rainbow land it's wonderful
I am colourblind! I can't tell between different shades.. Like I can't tell between bright green and yellow or purple and dark blue
|My Question for Thursday|: Why do we get bored in something's but other things not? how does our brain find something boring and what exactly is going in our brain when we are bored?
Note: Happy to get a answer from other people or most importantly Life Noggin :)
I can just barely see the 2. Is that good or bad
im very red-green colorblind, so are my brothers, but not as much as me. for some stupid reason we have the same shirt that we use for formal occations, We constantly fight over which one is whos and it usually ends up with my mom needing to tell us which shirt is mine and my brothers. when people say "im in the red car" or if i say it, you know the colors gonna be wrong and ive yet to get this right.
