They are measuring it the wrong way around you put the tip of the measure tape at the back of the jump mark and the pull it tight across the front of the take off board and measure it that way. I was doing 4.70 when I was 12
Hamish and Andy got mistakenly disqualified for stepping over Hamish's jump. If you watch it again, Andy went around Hamish. The jump should still count
Men and Women are physically very different. Testosterone and genetics gives men a significant advantage is almost all sports. The male record in long jump is 8.95 meters. The Women's is 7.52. Brooke Stratton (the athlete in this video) holds the Australian record of 7.05, I doubt she was going all out.
@@NoaVanSnick she wouldnt be jumping 5.70 normally thats pretty shitty for her, like i was jumping that at 14. her actually best is almost 7 metres, which is huge and would smoke any average male
I expected more from Andy. The dude is 191 cm (6'2") and used to play basketball. I am 167, just under 5'5", and jumped 6.19 m in high school. FYI, Brooke's personal best is 7.05 m, and she is slightly shorter than myself. Epic.
4.70 is a quality jump Andy. Be proud.

The editor deserves an award for playing We Are the Champions during Hamish's jump.
We need more of these

Wouldn't be surprised if New Idea magazine use Ando's excitement at 2:38-2:40 to sell a few extra copies
