Thanks HUGELY for the info! I appreciate your clearness and speaking about all the specifics details of your process. Your mentioning things like being surprised when you got two 4000yen stamps is info that I'm sure I'll be grateful to know in the future :D
Congratulations! I didn't realize it took so long, and that I'd need to renew my Spouse visa regardless (it expires in a month), so based on your info I've decided to just renew my Spouse visa and go for the PR at a later time because it sounds like too much of a headache to do both at the same time!
I'm half European half japanese, 16. Visited Japan a couple of times to visit family for a month at a time. Hopefully one day I can live there cause I love it, mostly cause of the people (I speak Japanese alright, gonna improve it though)
I applied for my PR last june 06 2022, and so far no calls or emails from the immigration office that i lack documents it's been 3 months since then. I assume i pass the PR application? Hopefully praying😁🙏🏻 Btw my visa at first is 1yr then 1yr then 3yrs. I only have 4 months left before my visa expires in January 2023. Hopefully my hagaki will arrive before that time or else i need to collect requirements AGAIN and apply for extension.
Love your video. Is there any easy way to figure out which immigration office I need to visit? My wife and I are living temporarily with her mother in Atsugi.
Very useful video!! I am also in a similar situation as yours. The video, did not mention too many details about the income requirement, and I also checked on the internet, and it only mentioned that we need at least 3 million yen annual income plus the dependants. I am wondering if foreign income also counts in the application of PR. I think I have matched all the requirements of PR except 'stable income' which I am not sure about.
I am in the process of getting my permanent residence and I am nervous since I have not yet submitted my files. It appears that the requirements are more extensive than what is published on their site, is that correct? I am happy to hear that you can send missing documents by mail that is a relief at least. Thank you for your video!
Good luck! What’s on the site is likely accurate; it’s just that there may be variations on the types of docs listed bases on your history and status in the country. 😊
As UA-camr is it worth registering as s business for tax deductions? Do you just have to pay Japan taxes? In USA after Japan taxes I have to pay US, there is a tax treaty but over $100-something USD its double-taxed. Lastly, are you able to do your taxes alone for UA-cam self-employment cost or do you need to hire someone and is $1,800 USD normal for tax help (if I am registered as business help is $3,000 USD) 😩 Thank you, another great video as usual!
Thank you 💕 I honestly don’t earn that much from UA-cam yet to be worrying about taxes 😅 if in the future I start earning more, I could probably ask for help from my husband to do it myself since he’s an accountant ☺️
@@ThatJapanLife oh wow, lucky you! Does he help foreigners in Japan do taxes? I saw some helping but the rate is around $1,800. In US they charge around $500.
@@ThatJapanLife Yes! Keep us updated if he does offer the service! I’d be willing to pay $1000 usd or so for tax help on Japan form (I think blue business one).
Thank you! I actually did not submit any of my own bank-related documents this time ( I used to when I extending my spouse visa). I think it might also be good to submit them. But from what I understand, they become more necessary when you’re a skilled professional. For spouses or family members of Japanese nationals and permanent residents, I think it hinges more on your sponsor’s finances.
Do you need a long reason for the application of permanent residence? I mean you can just write on the space provided right? Do you have any tips on what to write?
I honestly just wrote something along the lines of "I want to live together with my Japanese husband and to raise my son in Japan". It wasn't long at all.
So jealous! I studied in Japanese university and graduated. I live and work here for 14 years, married to a Japanese with a baby but was denied PR. I will apply again next year (may be). I’m still traumatised by the deny so l will wait a bit more. Reason for the deny was late payment of nenkin. So it was pretty crucial to have all your taxes paid on time.

Hello and Congratulations on getting your PR ! This is very helpful video I have few questions related to the application for PR. 1. Is there a online status check once we apply for PR to see if we are in some waiting queue and estimate time to process it ? 2. if a person has a HSP visa, does the process take shorter since HSP holder get a preferential treatment ? Awaiting your reply, Thank you.
Thank you. There is no way to check the status of your application online, but there is a phone number you can call to check. I honestly don’t know much about applying as a HSP. However, I expect the length of the process to be the same. On their website, for example, they only separate the two in terms of requirements.
did you pass your requirements alone? or together with your husband? My husband can't go with me because he has work. I wonder if it can affect their judgement if you submit the requirements alone.

Where can we get Nozei Shomeisho sono 3. My cityhall doesn't have any idea what that is.🥺
weird. maybe it’s a problem with the staff? I always just get my nouzeishomeisho from the city hall.

Nah, I doubt it will affect their judgement. I submitted my requirements without my husband
did you black out the numbers written in the pension and kenkou houken?
I didn’t really do that, but I think the stagf at the Bureau of Immigration cover them when they take a photocopy
