- A video by www.Vo2maxProductions.com . Desiree Davila and her Hansons-Brooks Distance Project teammates run the fabled marathon Simulator workout of 26.2km (16.28 miles) at Marathon Goal pace. It is the hardest workout of their training segment leading into the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials (which will be in Houston in 4 weeks). Video includes paces, 10k splits and post-workout comments.

This has such an '80s MTV feel: the colorful singlets, the Chevy Express van in matching colors, the slo-mo action shots of the guys and Desi throwing water bottles on the sidewalk in Detriot. But it's insanely good in terms of training--5:15 pace is nothing for Desiree. Love Sage too and he's informative!
First 5K in 15:59...That is my lifetime goal for just a 5K.

Gatorade or GuBrew. Some of the plastic fluid bottles are colored yellowish/green so it looks really bright but usually we water it down.

@mmmcculloch3 Coach Kevin Hanson helped design them. Despite his awesome coaching background, he isn't an apparel designer (believe it or not!). However ugly, his main goal was to get people's attention with the design. Obviously its worked!
@2dtrack its the style of the band. Kings of Leon in their early years before they sold out and became poppy.
I'm pretty sure they have learned to run through any kind of pain you can imagine. check out his threshold training video in 12 degree weather.

How'd you choose your meeting site for this training session? I'm a novice runner and have been following your videos for inspiration. The only reason I ask the question is due to the fact that I am also a 20yr veteran of Sherwin-Williams and found it humorous that as I sit here on a Sunday, on the clock I remind you, they are basically paying me to watch your training session and wishing I was out running. After seeing the logo I was reminded to get my ass back to work!!
Damn this is a classic video. Whatever happened to a lot of these guys who were on the Hansons Brooks team with you? Drew Polley seems to be in a lot of your older videos, what is he doing now?
I would really like to try this workout, but I have a couple of questions about it. How far would you this workout from a marathon and how many times would you do this during a marathon training cycle?

I have a question about the running form of one of these women.
I'm not sure if it's Melissa Johnson or Dot McMahan ... it's the blonde. When she runs, her feet are outside of her knees and almost outside her hips.
Priscah Jeptoo from Kenya, who finished 2nd at the Olympics marathon, also runs the same way. Isn't that form one that would lead to injuries? I'm impressed they can still run fast.

Incredible runners, but so hard for me to take them serious with those shirts. I think it's time someone designed a new Hansons Brooks logo and colors.
