In Serbia, young pork or lamb is roasted. Approximately up to 25 kg. I saw that in Italy and some other countries they roast pork, but it's all over 100 kg.
I don't know if it's due to some laws, but younger meat is much tastier for roasting, while older meat is better for cooking.
the czech's also roast big pigs 50-60+ kg, and they roast it and than cut off the done peaces while still roasting the whole pig, which is okay, but can't compare with a 20-25kg prasence xD never

But it's not popular or not worth it?
I'm asking all this because roasting a pig of around 50 kg or more looks delicious to me, and they don't do that in Serbia.
Here, in this way, only whole bulls are roasted in large quantities for some big celebrations, gatherings...
naah, they're just lazy, and it's much cheaper to buy one big than 3 small, plus 1 baking place. It's delicious, can't lie, but the meat is much older so more chewy and fatty, plus they don't have the tradition of roasting as we have in Serbia(balkans).

My recommendation - Order Zajecarsko beer, everyone agrees that it is the best, try also the lamb on a spit, for example in the restaurants "Bela Reka" or "Kod deda Stavre", both in New Belgrade.
And support Partizan (in basketball of course, in football we are waiting for a change of management first, until then, the stadium will be empty)

Generally, you won't find a better pork roast in the world, except maybe for Lechon in distant South Asia. What I don't like though is the fact that lately cooks in these establishments/restaurants, who specialize in pork, tend to put a tiny bit of salt more that needed, so that the guests would order more drinks. Luckily, not always the case, but some of the well known places have ruined their pork roasts to the limit of inedible by using too much salt.

Pecenje or PORK ON STICK, is a GOD level food! probably best food on the WORLD for meat lovers.

You don't mix horseradish with cabbage salad, you put horseradish on top of the meat, the salad is eaten separately with the meat.
U need a walk in the park after that great (huge)meal and later chill out in spa center of hotel Izvor

@@BIRMZE my wife is from brazil(Sao Paolo) our wedding was in Krusevac in South Serbia..the food on my wedding was like that because its also Tradition by us in Serbia and its delicious for sure. All the guys from Brazil was so positiv surprise about the love and the our hospitality but for us its that normal like a Amen in the Church my brother 😂⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️❤️

Mate you inspired me to visit this Pecenjara. Went yesterday and polished off about 1.2 kilo 😂. Also managed to bump into the British record store guy when hiring a car in Belgrade - it’s a small world!
