Porch was a masterpiece, in my mind that version encapsulated the real, raw talent of 90's music.
But the unplugged version? Next level. Ed gets possessed after the break. He's definitely wearing the pick of destiny on a necklace.

You aren't kidding. Those people there are so damn lucky!!!!! I remember watching this on mtv back then and thinking the same thing. I have seen them live many times though and there is nothing like it. Even in nose bleed seats. Eddies voice is so so powerful!!!! They are still together and making music selling out venues today.
Pearl Jam is still putting out new music today. They are well known for their live performances. Try their live performances of Given to Fly, Corduroy, or Better Man.
If you watched The Last Dance documentary the last sing that played was a Pearl Jam song called Present Tense. Eddie is a big Bulls and Jordan fan. That sing present tense is a good song check it out ✌️
Yeah man this is from 1992 those J’s had just come out and I was 14. He is from Evanston Illinois originally and was around the bulls a lot during their runs. Still hangs out with Rodman and I was at Pearl Jam concert at wrigley when Rodman came on stage. The last song in the last dance was Pearl Jam “present tense” 🤙
Thought he was from san diego.

I'm glad you enjoyed that performance. It was from 1992, but they just rereleased the concert last week. Before PJ settled on their name, they almost decided to call themselves Mookie Blaylock because the whole band is super into basketball and Mookie was one of their favorite players. Their love for basketball is also evident in a really goofy recording ( do t review it is not representative of their work, it's just them goofing around) called Sweet Lew about Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabbar). The song includes the lyrics:
"Power high, power low
You could take em all to school
You could fly, Wilt the Stilt had nothing on you
Lamb chops and afro-do
Milwaukee Bucks and a barbeque

A more recent connection between the band and basketball is that their song Present Tense was used to close out the recent Michael Jordan docuseries, the Last Dance. That song is definitely worth reviewing. It's chill, and thought provoking.

Pearl Jam has a live clip where a woman doing sign language to a group of def people. They bring her on stage and it’s so beautiful. She doesn’t just sign the lyrics, she signs the beat and guitar as well. The song is GIVEN TO FLY live St Louis! Check it out!!
