One of the most helpful comparison videos ever! Thank you for putting together a thorough review of each digital card offering. You have helped me narrow the range down to 2 cards based on having a better understanding of what each card offers (and doesn't offer).
Incredibly helpful video, really appreciate you showcasing all of these cards and really breaking it down so nicely. This was a HUGE help as I'm trying to figure out which smart business card is right for me and my freelance business. Thanks! :)
@@VittorTech I ended up going for the dot. card. I'm a freelance videographer so I liked the options (and the banner) that the dot card had and the entry-level price point worked for me. If I find in the future I need to get a more advanced card I'll be rewatching your video and picking one of the more expensive options. I also ordered the actual dot device itself (I think they call it dot classic) and my plan is to attach it to the side of my camera rig. That way, when I'm on a shoot and someone approaches me, if I can't put my camera rig down, they can just tap the side of my rig to get my contact info :)
@@DannyPytell hey thanks for posting, love the idea with the camera rig! How is dot working out for you? Just bought one last night without realizing there were other options haha
@@Buckeyeguy9 No problem! So far I've tried it a few times on shoots and it hasn't successfully worked. Most of the time it won't register on their phones, whether their cases are too thick or they don't have the NFC reader turned on with their phone (I had to turn mine on to get it to work for myself). As a backup I have the card with the QR code on it, so if all else fails they scan code with phone and my site pops up nice and quick. I think if people's phones were able to register it, the dot on the rig would work great but so far I haven't had any success with it working lol
I think the Linq will be the best site to link directly to a website. And this review was perfect, because I spent 2 hours hours comparing cards trying to read all the features, and this helped me find the features I was looking for and the comparisons faster. Great job! Thank you.
I also think Linq is the best as you can have multiple profiles so one for business and one for private. You don't want your clients to go on your Facebook account ;)
This is one of the best comparison videos I’ve seen in a while. You’re doing a lot better than some of these companies at explaining what the cards do. At first glance it seems like an easy call between Ovou and Linq… but Ovou is quite pricey, not customizable and there’s no phone tag. Dot seems like a simple, affordable solution but their website severely lacks info to help make a decision… like I couldn’t find anything on the customization of the profile page.… even though it appears to be the most eye catching. You showed more in this video lol. They also only allow returns for unopened items, so that doesn’t give me any confidence to give it a shot. I’m not sure if these cards aren’t trying to do too much, especially when you consider how quickly tech changes… seems like their ought to be an option that doesn’t require you to tether yourself to a branded card or yet another subscription.
Thank you for your in-depth review of Smart Business Cards. I must say I was naive in my knowledge of them until maybe 2weeks ago. A business colleague of mine wanted to share his contact information with me, and as the norm I went to type his contact info into my phone. He asked if I had an iPhone, and pulled his V1CE card from his wallet and tapped my phone with it. I immediately fell in love with this concept. Wish I had seen your video first, but overall happy with it.
Dan, thanks for the approach you took in showing us what's useful and cool about each of the cards you reviewed. For someone who's involved with a few businesses and consulting practices, this is extremely helpful.
I was slightly interested in learning more about smart business cards. This review was so excellent it completely pulled me in! Going with ovou. Thank you.
I didn't even know this was a thing until I seen on Facebook ad for DOT. It was only one time fee of $20 and the video in the ad impressed me so I decided to give it a shot. After I responded to that ad I've been seeing a lot of Facebook ads from different companies doing the same thing. I do wish I had it waited so I could weigh out all of my options but I am happy with the Dot card. For one time fee of $20 there's nothing to really complain about I only wish I could have my own branding on the card.
This video is great!!! I read a bunch of articles, but none of them broke it down like this. I will be sharing to everyone who ever asks about NFC Business Cards!
This was really helpful and the best unbiased comparison I've seen. Helped me get down to three choices. Then I ruled out Linq because the card will only allow you to write things in one direction. So I will buy two (OVOU and V1CE) and see which one works best for me. I will say based on trying a previous card not mentioned here that I think I like the web as an interface to edit my profile more than i do an app.
Both great choices! I’ve stuck with OVOU after making this video and loved it. The email signature it generates is one one my favourite features. Overall a well rounded card. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for the information. As a brand strategist, one thing I gift my clients as a thank you once we complete their website is business cards. I'm thinking of doing one of these instead. I think the non-membership option is the way to go so that they don't feel pressured to keep them up. I really appreciate the in-depth review of all the cards and their features....now I want one for me!
This video is AWESOME, deserves more views! I chose to order 3 OVOU cards for myself, wife and brother. We are all freelancers within the yachting industry.
Watched this video last year and it totally opened my eyes to a new networking opportunity. Purchased the Linq card using free version and its pretty cool! Reconmend it to other young professionals tryna be the modern day American Psycho

Incredible video man! You have a bright future ahead! I bought dot before I realized there were other options.. I believe I will be sticking with it though. I just love the customization with colors & the profile & banner photo! It may not have the biggest bio but I figured if I’m talking to people in public, that isn’t necessarily important & this quick links will direct them to the location, where I can have plenty of info! Wish there was a way to get their info easy as well, but I’m happy with the simplicity of it & I can always just grab theirs super quick while we are talking
I am gonna go with Ovou. Thanks so much for the research. I almost went with Vice but very happy I watched your video first to find out about the subscriptions and depth of the app
Great great video. Been wanting to get a digital card for a while now but I was wary of reoccurring subscriptions or shabby product. I enjoy your subtle humor too. Stay cool dude

OVOU for the win! It's funny, based on the ads alone - their ad was the one that I instinctively resonated with me the most. It just seemed the most in tune with my brand.
Great job! you defiantly explained them all clearly without taking side. I was going to order Ovou but I decided to research more before ordering and your video HELP me to finalize my decision. Ovou it is. Thank you!
Very, helpful video. Although I didn't see the card brand that originally got me into looking for reviews, this was a very informative review that answered questions I didn't even know to ask. I definitely appreciate the no monthly subscription ones. great video, brother! I almost forgot to mention, Im going to be using it a real estate business card and you definitely hit a lot of pros and cons to the different cards on that.
Dan, thank you for the video its really the most informative video I have seen on smart cards. I’m in real estate so you already know I go through cards quickly but I really like the platform the ovou and Linq give especially being able to update the cards photos and videos so clients can search my involvement. Great video.
Was looking to do some research on these types of cards, so I’m glad to have found this video. I would have liked to see a comparison with Mobilo, which looks to be a new company developing these types of cards.
Great stuff but missing something important!! You're showing app being opened on their phone: is it a webpage? must they download app to see again? is it shortcut on their phone? This is all great until they try to find you again. I primarily want to save my contact into their phone period. Looking at popl closer now.
This review is a bit outdated, also with the variety of the cards being reviewed heavy detail had to be sacrificed. I was looking into dot and ovou. With ovou it brings up a website and gives you an option to save the information directly to your phone.
Thanks! The info you gave is right on point. Just what I needed to get the best Vcard for me. Question. Do you need to get a card for each person in my company. If so? How many cards can I get at one 1 time.
Very helpful video. Question: Does the Linq card have a Team Dashboard that can be controlled by an Administrator to control content on employees business cards like the Ovou card? I really like the sound of the Ovou card platform.
I came to this video because I saw a bamboo Linq card within a Tiradia Cork cardholder on their website. Now my ecofriendly, chic sense of taste has been vindicated!
Is blue the only one that has payment options? That's important to me for my business and I didn't see you mention it for any other card so I'm really curious.
This was a heck of a useful video! Well put together. I'm sitting on the fence between V1CE and OVOU. I like more OVOU but V1CE has the sustainable option of a bamboo one and I work in sustainability so I don't know... Help me decide.
The video is really helpful thank you but when I tried buying a card (the Linq one) the cost of shipping it out of the US for nearly 4 times than its value! 😪
Thank you for making this video. I am going to get the Linq card. Can you create videos on the best and more affordable place to get a website for little or no cost.
I loved this video, thank you! I also see you are GREAT at responding to questions, so I'm hoping you'll be able to answer mine. I am looking for a digital card that does the following: 1) CRM integration abilities so I can collect data on those potential clients for follow up 2) I would like to be able to send a digital brochure, do you know which card would be best for that? Would an app based card be best for this? 3) Do the options that include apps allow for more detailed customization?? I don't mind paying a yearly fee, I like being able to customize. I understand that I can give my info so someone, but which cards are best for getting someone's info if they don't have one of these cards? I know this sounds like I am 'grabby', but ideally, I am looking for the ability to exchange info...they get mine, and I can get theirs. Thoughts? Recommendations? Thank you very much, appreciate any help you can give...this is all new to me.
Thanks for watching! It sounds like Popl is your best bet. It’s created a really clean way of doing everything you’re asking. It would require a pro membership to do lead generation but it’s a good trade off for an easy to use experience. For your digital brochure you want to ensure you copy the link to your Popl account and then then add the hyperlink to your brochure. You could also copy the QR code and add it to your brochure for easy access.
Thanks for the great video Eric! It's been 3 years now. Fast forward to 2024, which would be your top3 cards on the market now? My shortlist includes Popl, Mobilo and Ovou.. what's your view?
WHEN SHARING to give another your contact information: do all of the cards, OR which cards, allow directly saving your information from the hyperlink page for the person you are sharing with as a new contact?
QUESTION about Ovou? Once someone downloads your card, and the contact info in updated after, does that recipient auto get the update? Say a LINK changes, or a Social Profile, or even a phone number? Thoughts?
No unfortunately not, but that's more of a limitation on how contact cards work more than OVOU. So they would have to go back to the OVOU page and download the card again.
Thank you, I came to learn about the dot card. I left wanting the link card, you gave a good review of all the cards 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. I'm give this video 3 thumbs out of 3.
Thank you for the phenomenal video comparisons! I have a question, if I run more than one business and wanted to feature both individually, which card would best accommodate that? Again, thank you for the insightful videos!!
Do any of these cards require the reciever to also download their app? I almost went with linq but ended up going popl (got a 50% off sale) as I saw popl does not require the receiver to have the app but I saw online that linq does?

For your digital brochure you want to ensure you copy the link to your Popl account and then then add the hyperlink to your brochure. You could also copy the QR code and add it to your brochure for easy access.
@@VittorTech Thanks so much, really appreciate it. Shared your video with my team, they all loved it, thanks again.
Thanks for the great video Eric! It's been 3 years now. Fast forward to 2024, which would be your top3 cards on the market now? My shortlist includes Popl, Mobilo and Ovou.. what's your view?
Thanks for the helpful video review. Wondering if any of these cards allow me to add many web pages, similar to the Cardtapp product
Yes, a UA-cam Video that says where you can skip to end for the final review! Thank you!!!!
I think OVOU is for me! Thanks for your Help!
Thank you. This was helpful. I think I'll try Ovou or Linq, but leaning toward Ovue.
Thank you for the information. Based on what I saw I will most likely get the LINQ card.
Thank you, I came to learn about the dot card. I left wanting the link card, you gave a good review of all the cards 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. I'm give this video 3 thumbs out of 3.
Can you do an updated video for this with the modern software? A lot changes in a year for the tech and information world!
Wish I did more research, Ovou has a membership now
Just an FYI, check out the part 2- was going to use OVOU but noticed they switched to subscription billing.....
Very Well Done 👍🏾,, thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching!
Such a good and extremely helpful video! Would you be willing to create a video where you share what is in your media kit?
My media kit is publicly available on my OVOU page :)
Thank you for the phenomenal video comparisons! I have a question, if I run more than one business and wanted to feature both individually, which card would best accommodate that? Again, thank you for the insightful videos!!
With dot cards you can buy a bundle and link each device to a separate profile or all to the same profile.
This is exactly what I wanted to know!!!! You got a subscription out of me!
Great review man! Very informational and too the point helped me make a decision
Thank you for sharing such an informative breakdown on each one!
Do any of these cards require the reciever to also download their app? I almost went with linq but ended up going popl (got a 50% off sale) as I saw popl does not require the receiver to have the app but I saw online that linq does?
Does Ovou have a phone sticker option as I don't usually carry a wallet. If not which ones do?
Thank you for the video, it was really helpful in my decision in choosing this card.
This was a very helpful and informative video. Thank you so much!
