Its the only PDM that I've sampled that has compelled me to buy a full bottle. I've got decanters of Layton, Layton Exclusif, Herod, Percival, Carlisle, Sedley and Pegasus. Kalan was a bit strange on first wear, but something about it I found to be addictive. I never feel like spending more than $120 on any fragrance but I had to order Kalan. I found a bottle for $160 on aurafragrance and decided to order it a couple of days ago. I can't see why the fragrance community is so split on this one.
As much as I love Parfums de Marly...well, I haven't really been smitten with their offerings after Layton. Don't get me wrong...they're all nice, but some notes ramped-up with ambroxan and ISO-e-Super to give them more of the people-pleasing DNA. Layton, Carlisle, Habdan, Darley, Pegasus, Herod...all brilliant...Kalan and some newer releases. Meh! Spot-on review. Cheers!

Is it weird that my original comment intimating my speculation regarding PdM's recent releases got mysteriously deleted by neither Iga or myself? 😂 And I thought that Halloween was over! Spooky stuff. No worries. It's not like I'm going to stop wearing some of PdM's better releases like LaytonX, Oajan, Carlisle or Habdan. Kalan just ain't for me. Many blessings to the YT watchdogs! I LOVE Baccarat and I LOVE Ganymede. I hate Kalan. To my nose it smells like Gaviscon, an anti-acid/anti-reflux medicine in a visquous gel form (sodium alginate +bicarbonate) which is atrocious to swallow.
Baccarat gone wrong and a salty cotton candy? Somehow PdM is a house I have no interest to try 🤷🏻♂️. Hmmm, now I wonder what the other one is …

If you think of it, it's a good sign. It means it's not obvious or boring.

Weird suff id going on...To be honest I am only familiar with Layton and Delina , was never too compelled to to explore the brand.
