If you go back and listen to his earlier years, he was good, and popular, but a number of years ago he changed his singing style (some of his fans were upset about it), and I think he found his true voice. Maybe he did it to be kinder to his vocal cords, or a style choice...whatever his reason, it was transformative. In my opinion, he went from good to spectacular. His singing always seems to be effortless now, and so very moving. Now, he is considered a national treasure. Well deserved.

I'm not at all a vocal coach, but from what I understand, Park Hyo-shin sang with a lowered larynx and a thicker tone in his earlier years, which doesn't seem to lend itself particularly well to vocal longevity. I can't tell exactly what motivated him to change, but it might've been done in an effort to reduce strain on his voice and improve his ability to do runs, which is something he lacked earlier on in his career.

The problem was that this style would have led over time to premature wear of vocal abilities. So the only solution was the total change of the vocal technique. It was a radical change that turned out to be the happiest choice for the artist.

From what I've heard this song was written while he was going through some horrible things, his company at the time mistreated him and worked him till he collapsed, then because of the overworking he got vocal modules (or something like that), then to top it all off his best friend committed suicide. So after a 4year hiatus this was the song he came back with.

PHS and he are the co-composer of Wildflower.

Yes Park Hyo Shin is one of the best singers in the korean industry. This song in particular is my favorite especially when he sings it live. But you know and can feel what he is singing. I love the voice of Park Hyo Shin! and this song is one of my favorites! for those who do not know him, he is one of the most famous, talented and emblematic singers of Korea! Not to say that one of the best. He was one of the singers who helped a lot the development of contemporary music in seoul, in the past only traditional music was heard, and what is known as Trot (the traditional Korean genre) but thanks to his sweet and romantic voice, people They started listening to more ballads and pop!

I came across Park Hyo Shin through another artist Kim Jaehwan who was in God's Voice, who went onto to be in a group called Wanna One. Kim Jaehwan did King of Masked Singer and sung a cover of Park Hyo Shin, he did it so well even the judges praised him. Judges said even talented singers cannot sing Park Hyo Shim songs, but this young man did it so amazingly well. But Kim Jaehwan has done of lot of Park Hyo Shin songs before he was known, he does them so beautifully. So my favorite two singers Kim Jaehwan and Park Hyo Shin, powerful and beautiful vocalists I want them to sing until I'm gone they are that beautiful.

I would really like to see a review where some background check on the artists have been done and analysed before reviewing performances. Park Hyo Shin is a phenomenal singer, songwriter and artist and is in a class of his own but when reviews are done - it feels like reviewers see him as just another singer. Example: The song Wildflower is a song he wrote about the hardships in his life and fighting through it. This Wildflower performance is one of many of Park Hyo Shin's phenomenal performances. Another fact is : Park Hyo Shin is known for perfectionism. He will never perform or record a song unless it is absolutely perfect. Another fact: His skills are incredible from changing his voice to fit the song and singing just about all genres including musicals. Jung Jae Ill is an awarding winning pianist and here too I feel kind of robbed of the fact that when these reviews are done of the artists, the reviews are off the bat. I am truly not sure what the purpose of reviews are when reviewers give no insight into the artist's background except just commentary on the song. It is not that one song that makes an artist particular special, it is everything about the artist. Artists like Park Hyo Shin and Jung Jae Ill are on another level and are not pop singers/musicians - they have years of skill and dedication between both of them and should be viewed on a different scale
My request!?? Coach can you cover this song??? This is not a love song.. many struggle in his life have drain him emotionally whether it is his former company or someone that close to him. So he became like wild flower that bloom even in the desert like in his original music video.
Park HyoShin is also a Musical Actor: he has played the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera for a few seasons. He's also been in Sweeny Todd and Motzart. HyoShin is currently acting in a musical based on a Victor Hugo novel, The man who smiles too much. Musical acting is hard work, to sing as strong at the end of the performance as you do in the beginning takes a skilled and well taught vocalist. I listen to his music whenever I am working in my art studio for inspiration, Wild Flower is at the top of my play list and also the last song. There are a number of quite talented Korean singers people have recommended you should give them a try also.
Small correction, he played Erik in the Yeston/Kopit version Phantom (and he was spectacular). I would LOVE to hear him play the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, but sadly, Korea hasn't had a Korean production of PotO in ages. There are so many great singers but I always come back to PHS, especially Wildflower, it's my inspiration song as well

Well he mades it sound so effortlessly, when I practice let's say the nay nay nay exercise I get max to a G4 in mix voiced any higher I can't manage to keep the coordination together, I go completely into head voice, that's because I feel so much tension, maybe through the exercises and practice I'll be able to keep going higher without tension, it's strange because it feels like you need to let go something completely to go there while something it's working thight to keep it together inside, and then there's also the fear you going to sound bad or hurt yourself just for attempting to sing those full high sounds.

that note at 6:22 is Mix voiced? it sounds so full , it cant be head. is a high C. thats crazy high

It's a mixed C5 and yeah pretty high for a male. Also, not so sure about this but I think that note is supported.
Well he mades it sound so effortlessly, when I practice let's say the nay nay nay exercise I get max to a G4 in mix voiced any higher I can't manage to keep the coordination together, I go completely into head voice, that's because I feel so much tension, maybe through the exercises and practice I'll be able to keep going higher without tension, it's strange because it feels like you need to let go something completely to go there while something it's working thight to keep it together inside, and then there's also the fear you going to sound bad or hurt yourself just for attempting to sing those full high sounds.
