Do you think this will be a good or bad thing for gamers?
Look I started off buying PS5 games but i am fed up with Sony not addressing the SSD bloat and the internal SSD failure. I therefor bought all my library on xbox. I even had to consider if i'd abandon xbox after the monthly system updates brought nothing community wanted (entire year). I'd say i'd have to be a dedicated fan to stick with either companies. but now i've proven i chose which will succeed. Microsoft i hope i made the right choice. I had to pass on the very most hyped games of 2023 to stand on MS side. and after prototype 2 it wasn't easy. Do service to BO2 and give a new update.
Xbox has a terrible record on acquisitions and it's sad that without their most recent acquisitions they would have released nothing all year but their worst reviewed Forza
As a PC guy I have no dog in this fight but from an outsider it seems all you guys have such hate for Microsoft and I don't know why. Yet you people are always talking about it..doesn't make sense. To me Microsoft has a few good games. Sony has about 2 games I like. Nintendo...pass.. it's just personal choice. Not everyone likes the Sony boring formula and I'm too old to like Nintendo. As for Microsoft they already feel like a PC primary developer already.
@rodrickcross I'm also a PC guy--Halo was supposed to be a PC game but Xbox took it away and put it on a much smaller platform then was the first to charge to play online. They fail every gen and besides Forza they don't actually contribute any creativity to the industry. Just buying studios like Rare and Lionshead and squandering IP that they are ONLY able to afford NOT due to any success in gaming but other sectors. They keep using their unearned influence to push drm and digital only

As someone excited for the future of gamepass , I MUST say I NEED a new Conker game like yesterday 😢
So now is a perfect time to buy years worth of gamepass because I can see it becoming $25 a month really soon. We’re gonna see a price increase definitely this holiday.

This could be amazing for Xbox...However, like yourself I'm a huge Banjo Kazooie fan, so I haven't forgotten what they've done with Rare. So I'm keeping expectations in check.

It sucks what the console wars have done to us. Because if this were any other industry, there would be good opposition to this acquisition. But because this is video games, Xbox fanboys had to be on board with this and if you pointed out “this is bad because it’s a monopoly” you get called a “salty PS5 fan.” It’s not fun or good. Not looking forward to what this will lead to, at all
That’s why I switch to PC. Consoles are becoming more restricted and Sony especially are greedy as fuck.

since rare doesn't want to do anything with the banjo-kazooie or much of anything with old rare IPs Microsoft could have toys for bob remake banjo-kazooie and banjo-tooie and any other old rare IP and have it only release on xbox and Nintendo

I will never pay a subscription service to access games. Not worth it.
Also Bethesda doesn't have any games anyone really cares about other than Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Elder Scrolls 6 is the only game anyone is waiting for from Bethesda and we've been waiting for over a decade. Supposedly Bethesda is also remastering or considering remastering Oblivion from what I've read online and that will suck if that ends up an Xbox/PC exclusive because I'd love to have it on my Nintendo Switch alongside Skyrim.
May not be worth it to you but is worth it for me. Fuck paying $70 for games.
We'll it's always possible & isn't completely out of the question. I just don't think it will sell well on the switch, because skyrim just doesn't run great on the switch. The game gave me motion sickness.
This is good for the Xbox brand. It will help them compete with PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. And they will have to adapt to the new business models that Microsoft is offering to the consumer. It's a historic moment that will hopefully introduce more people to the gaming world.
The switch has its own audience its not competing trust me
Switch is always a second console. It’s the one that, if you’re not a child, you get AFTER getting an Xbox or a PlayStation or a PC. It’s in its own different realm frankly
Until Microsoft fucks up and they have proven again and again they have no clue what they are doing and when they give up gaming again it will be a bad thing for everyone.

I'd love to see some cool new RTS games, but let's be real: What was the last truly good RTS? I can't think of any made in the last decade, can you?
@@lordflashheart3741 Well depends on how people define good, personally I enjoyed a few good RTS games in the last 5 years, namely Age of Empires 4 for example, Northgard also shakes up the formula a bit and SpellForce 3 uses RPG elements mixed with the RTS.
A pity devs and studios overall think RTS is dead or just focus on the online aspects, instead of investing on changing that "dead" status, fortunately RTS also has alot of replay value for players like me, so the old games will always be there =)
I feel like my opinion can be summed up as cautiously optimistic. I'm hoping Microsoft turned a new leaf compared to how they were in the past, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll continue enjoying game pass until it no longer makes financial sense.

I guess being 2nd to Nintendo hurts and they had to diss the 4th placer microsoft who is behind Meta with the Quest 2/3... which Xbox game pass is coming to Quest 3 by the way... and is on Aplle and Google devices as well. 1:21 to be fair not countiing profits... that is like nothing in total studios, gaming IPs let alone games this is nt like when Microsoft tried to make windows the only computer with the only internet browser you could buy... which it's been 60 years ande they still have the majority of the desktop and browser markets and has the world exploded? Also if Microsoft didnot but activsion it would have died and painfull death and those IP would have been easier to buy and may have gone to worse companies like EA,Disney,amazon, of the CCP.
Sony is remastering horizon zero dawn and last of us part 2 they have no multiplayer on their console yet they raised the price of ps plus to $80 a year and we’re concerned about Microsoft when gamepass is the best thing this generation has provided across all platforms

They could buy every third party and still have garbage exclusives, this is a desperate last grab to stay relevant. Xbox has for two generations straight SUCKED. Lost to Sony twice, Lost to Nintendo four times. They even said it themselves "if gamepass is still stagnant by 2027 we will bow out" Good, get lost.
Less competition is bad. If Sony has no competition, they will raise prices as high as they want with no threat of losing market share. Microsoft needs to fix their issues to be a proper competitor.
