Great song that you never really hear anymore. This version with the extended music at the end was always cut from the radio. Takes me back to the good old days when country music sounded soo awesome!
I don't know where I've been I've only just discovered Eddie Rabbitt - didn't know there was a guy called this - and I love bunnies! ❤🐇Just discovered Eddie passed 25 years ago, how sad and what a shame, sounds like he was a nice guy and brilliant songwriter. RIP Eddie Rabbitt - think you were brilliant. Thank you for your music.
I remember listening to this as a kid in the mid 70's on AM radio in my Grandfather's old green Buick. I found the cassette tape in the 90's and played it continuously during my travels to and from college. This is true country music. RIP Eddie. The World lost your voice long before it should have. Thank you for posting.
Eddie hit #10 in Billboard, 10-29-83. God bless you, Jack, for postin' it. Thanx! Eddie didn't write this 1, but he made it his own. Have a blessed week! RIP, Eddie.
We had this song on 45 when I was a kid. I listened to it a lot back then, and still not sure whatever happened to it. I haven't heard in in many many years!
One of the first Record Albums that I had as a kid. But I had a mom that was SO strict. Not allowed to dance or be free spirited. She called it bad influence. To move around to Music. 😮 Childhood was Strange to put it Mildly. But Eddie Rabbitt was one of My Favorite voices. Back in the 70s.... it was late 70s by the time I got this Album. ❤
Awesome to see the studio version finally got on here. I searched just about everywhere on the internet and couldn't find it anywhere. From what I found the only place the song was ever released was on his Greatest Hits Vol. 2 cassette and never was released on CD, thanks for posting it
I wish someone would release an essential hits (original recording) compilation, 2 or 3 CD set and finally include this great song into that collection. I don't understand why it was never included on any of the hits CDs that have been released.
Thank you SO much for putting this on here. This was the one Eddie Rabbitt song that I couldn't find anywhere, and unfortunately my LP copy of Greatest Hits Volume 2 got lost in a move somehow.
I thought it might be the guitar I thought it might be the drum Or somebody out in the hall Snappin' thumbs Well, I felt your eyes talkin' to me I felt it right through my heart I knew what it had to be That was pound, pound Poundin' in me Baby, you put the beat in my heart Baby, you put the beat in my heart I've heard that same melody But love never really moved in me 'Til you put the beat in my heart I thought I heard someone knockin' Or footsteps in the hall Or maybe it was a branch Blowin' on the window pane When you were layin' beside me Soft as the mornin' light I knew the sound I was hearin' Now started in your arms last night Baby, you put the beat in my heart Baby, you put the beat in my heart I've heard that same melody But love never really moved in me 'Til you put the beat in my heart Put the beat in my heart You, you put the beat in my heart Don't you know that You put the beat in my heart I know I've heard that same melody But love never really moved in me 'Til you put the beat in my heart My heart, my heart You put the beat in my heart You put the beat in my heart You put the beat in my heart It was you, you It was you, you You put the beat in my heart Can't you hear it Can't you hear it, baby How do you do it, baby It never, never felt so right My heart's on it's knee I'm beggin' you please Just keep it, keep it up all night You, you put the beat in my heart Don't you know that You put the beat in my heart I know that I've heard that same old melody But love never really moved in me 'Til you put the beat in my heart Put it back Put it back You put the beat in my heart, baby You put the beat in my heart You put the beat You put the beat You put the beat in my heart My heart, yeah

My favertt ya you know
Your music Todd put beat in my heart
I thought it might be the guitar
I thought it might be the drum
Or somebody out in the hall
Snappin' thumbs
Well, I felt your eyes talkin' to me
I felt it right through my heart
I knew what it had to be
That was pound, pound
Poundin' in me
Baby, you put the beat in my heart
Baby, you put the beat in my heart
I've heard that same melody
But love never really moved in me
'Til you put the beat in my heart
I thought I heard someone knockin'
Or footsteps in the hall
Or maybe it was a branch
Blowin' on the window pane
When you were layin' beside me
Soft as the mornin' light
I knew the sound I was hearin'
Now started in your arms last night
Baby, you put the beat in my heart
Baby, you put the beat in my heart
I've heard that same melody
But love never really moved in me
'Til you put the beat in my heart
Put the beat in my heart
You, you put the beat in my heart
Don't you know that
You put the beat in my heart
I know I've heard that same melody
But love never really moved in me
'Til you put the beat in my heart
My heart, my heart
You put the beat in my heart
You put the beat in my heart
You put the beat in my heart
It was you, you
It was you, you
You put the beat in my heart
Can't you hear it
Can't you hear it, baby
How do you do it, baby
It never, never felt so right
My heart's on it's knee
I'm beggin' you please
Just keep it, keep it up all night
You, you put the beat in my heart
Don't you know that
You put the beat in my heart
I know that I've heard that same old melody
But love never really moved in me
'Til you put the beat in my heart
Put it back
Put it back
You put the beat in my heart, baby
You put the beat in my heart
You put the beat
You put the beat
You put the beat in my heart
My heart, yeah
Yah you did
