While I didn’t flat out love this movie, mostly from it being too long in my opinion. This was still a great movie. Loved the performances, especially DiCaprio and Gladstone, and the build up to the investigation (again, even if it took a little too much time to get there). I will not be surprised to see this win Oscars. And I think it certainly deserves to. Great review, man!

The Osage are not a 1920's tribe. The Osage along with hundreds of other tribes have a history of many thousands of years. This era is focused upon because of the discovery of oil and the murders that happened because of it. The Osage are still in Oklahoma and still part of the genocide of Indigenous people in America, past and present.
