This inspired song JISAS MI KAM LONG YU NAO was actually written in 1990 by Benjamin Tekulu, one of my students at King George VI School in Honiara and was recorded at the SIBC studios in the same year by the student choir "KG6 King's Kids", produced by myself. These songs remind me of my dear island of tokanod in kanaky (New Caledonia), we too sing songs like these called taperas (tempérance) which are holy hymns dedicated to God, the first time I heard « God yu tekkem laef blong mi » it was cast in a commercial aired on French national television, and since that very day I’ve kept searching for it online, the way these songs make you feel is something that we cannot describe with words, the joy and the peace you experience after listening to these works of art is inhuman, it seems like you are on a spiritual journey that leads you to the very presence of God. A big thanks to all my beautiful melanesian brothers and sisters for keeping our culture alive. If someone knows the translations of these hymns would it be possible to write them down, I would be more than happy, may the heavenly blessings of our dear Father flow abundantly upon us ❤❤❤
I love the simplicity and complete honesty in their voices. I'm so tired of all the over the top productions of so called religious choirs. This is beautiful.
+dcx same here. Saw it when I was 8 or 9 when it came out like 4 times in theaters (my dad use to let me watch anything growing up really cause he knew I could handle it, still remember seeing Saving Pvt Ryan 8 times in theaters and my dad use to make me leave at the part where they have that fight at the end only where the guy gets stabbed real slow. Was afraid to watch that part after that lol). Anyways.. Fell asleep the first time in theaters cause of how long TTRL was lol... This music gives me chills every time I listen to it.. And I'm always coming back for more.. Such an amazing movie about life and death and all the craziness and peace inbetween...
Pff , my dad leted me watch even porn with him that;s odd i know , i also watched the exorcist and psicho with him , he even let me watch a serbian film and others , i saw this movie recently but what can i say is that the music will stuck in my heart for ever !!! such a magnifique soundtrack !!!
How can we create such beautiful, spiritual songs, and make harm to eachother at the same time? Why cannot dissolve our hate on the same place were this love was created? ...

The movie thin Red Line I toke ages to watch cause I though it was another Hollywood action packed war movie without story but the narration and music made this movie stick with me. I watch this video clip every 3 months and spend the whole time cleaning my head of the evil and hate and also I give my minute silence each time for all men across all country's who faught and died for there country I now see WW2 as not a war of good and evil but a war to unify the world as weird as it sounds. We have not since had a major world conflict besides Korea and Vietnam since. I'm Australian and visit Japan every 3 years and have since made so many friends. My great grandfather was killed at sea after there Corvette minesweeper was hit by a shore gun it withdraw to the open to attempt repairs and care for the wounded when it was struck again by a bomb from jul dive bomber. Records say that him and the remanding crew jumped ship as it went down but before being saved by a passing correvet a Japanese fighter plane did 3 straffing runs killing 35 men in the water including my great grandfather when I first heard that I was angry cause he was no longer a threat to the Japanese but later found out his crew 3 months earlier made contact with a few smaller Japanese of boats and a distroyer the 3 Australia Corvettes toke care of the pts with easy and managed to lure the distroyer into a mine trap the jap distroyer was crippled and slowing sinking and not firing back but moving away ( considering Japanese Navy nearly never retreated or surrendered it was a strange thing to witness) 2 of the vetts started to pull away for own repairs when my grandfather's vett moved in and continued to fire at it with its single 4inch frontal gun ( 1x4inch 2x50cal AA 1 sometimes 2 40mm bofos AA cannon 2 decoy pods 1 depth charge launcher and up to 8 shallow water mines) very lightly armoured boats. (Look up HMAS Castlemaine one of our last standing WW2 Corvettes during the war it didn't have the roof was a open deck helm so if it was raining tough luck) point being my grandfather and his crew was also responsible for the death of combat ineffective troops. Idk back then maybe the fear to each nation of domination drove us to kill as many as we can. I won't ever be a solider i would only ever defend my homeland if it came under direct invasion other then that I couldn't kill a man I have never met nor know the name of cause some other man ordered me to. If I was there that night regardless of if they repaired and went back to fighting or not . I would not have the heart to fire on someone who can not fire back. I understand killing in war is different to killing on the streets. But in my eyes the fact remands the same if you kill a man who can not process the ability at the time to fight and kill back. Then killing them is murder

I just realized how easy it is to read the text for the songs. Guess some missionaries just came to the melanesian people and spoke about god in english and they simply tried to write down what they said. Jisas yu holem hand blong mi (Jesus you hold'em hand(s) belong(ing to) me). God yu tekkem hand blong mi (God you take'em hand(s) belong(ing to) me)

una película increíble, notable, cinematográficamente tal vez lo mejor que he visto en mi vida. y la música? definitivamente una delicia, de verdad me estremece.
With Western Powers arguing and hating, with the Middle East in constant war, with Africa in constant hunger, with Earth bleeding because of the superpowers and there high demand... it's nice to listen to some pure humanity from the indigenous people of the Pacific.
Hate to say it but who would listen to this after hearing the vocal version ? I worked in the jungle down there for a few years, and the vocal version sends shivers down my spine !
Daniel 12:10 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
I don't believe in god, I was raised as catholic, went to catholic school, had bible studies, at 16 I found no god. But even i don't believe in god nor Christian religion, I find these hymns hauntingly beautiful.
@@castel-branco well unless its a blood thirsty god of war and misery, aka God Of War (Mars) then i would believe it so, as far as i have seen...this world is godless, and to such fairy tale exists.
Proverbs 24 1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. 2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. 3 Through wisdom is a house builded; and by understandings is it established. 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counselors there is safety. 7 Wisdom is to high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate. 8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person. 9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. 10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. 11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; 12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul, doth he not know it? And shall not he render to every man according to his works? 13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. 15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place: 16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief. 17 Rejoice not when thy enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and he turn away his wrath from him. 19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious because of the wicked; 20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. 21 My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: 22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both? 23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. 24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: 25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them. 26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer. 27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house. 28 Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause; and deceive not with thy lips. 29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work. 30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; 31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and a stone wall thereof was broken down. 32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. 33 Yet for a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Psalm 7:11-12 11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. 12 If he turn not, he will wet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. 1 John 2:15-17 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Been in love with this since 1998... and I'm 43 now and when I die my request is to be ashed to this music....
The more I watch this film the more I am convinced it's the best war film, and simultaneously the best anti-war film, ever made. And the soundtrack, particularly the Melanesian Choir, is a purifying and elevating experience.
The Thin Red Line is A absolute masterpiece of human emotion, of experience, of love, of sadness, of everything that is pure.
I'm not so sure that the red thin line is the best "war film". Saving private Ryan is a better proper war film. However, I think that the thin line is by far the best film about war. It's different because if we want to fully appreciate this masterpiece, we have to consider the fact that it is a philosophical/metaphysical thought on life, death, peace, war, the duality of evil and good... I never watched a movie that maked me think like the red thin line did...

I just realized how easy it is to read the text for the songs. Guess some missionaries just came to the melanesian people and spoke about god in english and they simply tried to write down what they said.
Jisas yu holem hand blong mi (Jesus you hold'em hand(s) belong(ing to) me).
God yu tekkem hand blong mi (God you take'em hand(s) belong(ing to) me)
The language is pidjin.
Mi likem ol voices blo yufala, I nice gogo. Mo ol singsing blo yufala too I good tumas. God bae I continue blo stap wetem yufala mo bae I blessem yufala!
“Only around people...” Sparky
I just wanna live with a tribe and forget about EVERYTHING!
Absolutely the best choir i've heard in this great movie. Of course the Tabernacle Choir is better ---- but this choir fits perfectly to the movie, Thanks for uploading.
una película increíble, notable, cinematográficamente tal vez lo mejor que he visto en mi vida. y la música? definitivamente una delicia, de verdad me estremece.
Bien dicho, Mauricio.
Captures every essence the hymn strives to do: musically and spiritually powerful.
Chœur magnifique qui nous entraine vers une émotion pure, mise en opposition aux images d'un film sur le pourquoi de la guerre
With Western Powers arguing and hating, with the Middle East in constant war, with Africa in constant hunger, with Earth bleeding because of the superpowers and there high demand... it's nice to listen to some pure humanity from the indigenous people of the Pacific.
Couldn't have said it better
Video Watcher if only we could hold hands together and realize were all the same. must unite.. as humans
Video Watcher isn’t it iron that you’ve got the Union Jack as profile pic and commenting that?
Holy fuck this comment is underrated these days
Elvin D not really seeing as the Union Jack is literally 4 countries united...
Thanks a lot for uploading.
God bless
Precioso. Se me ponen los pelos de punta cada vez que escucho este coro.
Never thought a war film could be pure art
Lovely Melody.
Wonderful!
this music puts me in a good place and not think about the nonsense here in the world
Hate to say it but who would listen to this after hearing the vocal version ? I worked in the jungle down there for a few years, and the vocal version sends shivers down my spine !
They're not shivers Terry. They're trickles of water leaking from the toilet in the room on the 2nd floor above your head.
But..I do agree. It's a beautiful rendition which caresses the soul.
i like it
Is this not the vocal version?
Touch my heart.
coś pięknego !
Daniel 12:10
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Sorry, the comment below was meant for the instrumental clip preceding this one ! This is nothing short of fantastic :)
Wow, great music...
Perfection.
I'm going to find that soulless person who disliked this.
I don't believe in god, I was raised as catholic, went to catholic school, had bible studies, at 16 I found no god. But even i don't believe in god nor Christian religion, I find these hymns hauntingly beautiful.
@@BlueMoonLightDreams God exists, God exists..
@@castel-branco well unless its a blood thirsty god of war and misery, aka God Of War (Mars) then i would believe it so, as far as i have seen...this world is godless, and to such fairy tale exists.
This music isnt just good to listen to. It speaks to ones real soul. Try not to think to hard.
one word...peacefull
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear. But ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, father!"

Proverbs 24
1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul, doth he not know it? And shall not he render to every man according to his works?
13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
17 Rejoice not when thy enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious because of the wicked;
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
21 My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and a stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet for a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
extraordinario. belleza de composición para una obra cinematográfica absolutamente inolvidable!!!
Primal bliss

Psalm 7:11-12
11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he turn not, he will wet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
