Der Lautsprecher sagt: “Kérem vigyázzanak, az ajtók záródnak. A ... következik.” d.h. “Bitte achten Sie auf die schließenden Türen. Der nächste Halt ist ...“
I like that little jaunty jingle they play when they stop at stations. Unusual design rolling stock; rather like old London Underground stock with the motor bogie at each end.
Stefano know better: this is the world first elentric metro line (since 1896) &the first metro line in the continental Europe&the 2nd metro line in the world after the London's metro. :) The first metro line was in London operated by steam engine. :)
Interesting feature is the line map we can see @1:05 above the posts line, the whitish panel boasts merely the succession of stations name, with the current station in bold letters. No color line, no dots or roundels, no tilted text, just names in a straight line… What else ? On other lines in Budapest, I'm afraid these lessons have been lost, the name of stations, as looked after from inside the carriages, are very scarce, or even not visible. The oldest line, regarding this issue, is much better…
+7 Densha Master I guess they didn't think this through back when it was built... originally the idea was to just make a tram go undergroudn because why not... so it's literally just a small stairway away from the surface.
It was built as a tram. Because the so called Sugárút(now Andrássy út) was too classy. And to not disturb its scenery the built a tram under the road. And there we have the shallow subway :)
Yes, their quite special. The BKK wants to replace them with newer trains but the can't at the moment with other projects going on at the moment. The trains are good enough to last a few more years before the BKK can get enough money to contract an manufacturer to design and produce the trains as they require special measurements. This is due to the 100 plus years old tunnel we know today as M1 or more common in Hungary the Földalatti (literally translates to Underground). Hope this helps!
They are kinda bad but they are old they look cool clean and they work

+luizaugusto peixoto The tunnel is starting to have a really bad smell like there is mould in it between the stations...

The rather unique design is because of the low tunnels. The actually tunnels themselves are only a couple metres below the surface.
That jingle is no longer there. Also they adder the English transition of the doors closing afterwards
the oldest electric metro in the world!!!!!!!! I like it!

Um wie viel Uhr hast du die Aufnahmen gemacht, so wenig Betrieb ist da selten

good video
opera and M1 are😍
I like how the stations are in a similar design towards new york but the rolling stock could be used to a much better design

7 Densha Master M1 stations are so great!!
Die Züge auf der M1 sehen komisch aus
Die sind schon etwas älter! :)
Apprezzato!* * * * *
nice video, but horrible trains
