Hi Tiff. When we multiply by an exponent, we multiple the same number to whatever the exponent is. For example 2 to the power of 3 means we multiple 2 x 2 to give us 4 and multiple 4 by 2 again to give us 8. You do not multiple 2 x 3 as this is the incorrect way to solve for exponents.

I need a tutor because I plan on going to take my test this month and I’ve been studying for a while now but I’m afraid that I will not pass 😢

How did you get -1.1 from -1 1/10?
Great question 1 divided by 10 is equal to 0.1 so -1 and 1/10 is equal to -1.1.
how did you get 2.2 from 2 1/5?
.2 = 2/10 which simplifies to 1/5
Hope this helps!
Can somebody explain to me how 2to the power of 3 became 8 and not 3 because to my understand 2*2*2=6 not 8 like how did the math change I’m confused
I mean 6
2 to the power 3 means..2×2×2.

2x2x2 = 2×2 = 4, then 4x2= 8
Totally how is that 8
