And I agree with Wilkerson on two accounts. We need to meet with our enemies. Diplomacy is more important than wars to resolve our differences. I particularly enjoyed him comment about the history of the USA regarding undermining democratically elected governments for years. Exactly!

I saw the Bill Maher show with Wilkerson on it, to be honest he was the smartest man on the panel, and the tragedy of it was he didn't have enough time to speak about other matters.

As an old Aussie vet living in Indonesia , I used to like Bill Maher , but he's turned into an idiot, and an uninformed idiot at that .
It doesn't , and can't work if Leaders do not talk together .
It's called " diplomacy " , something which throughout history , has prevented stupid acts by individual nations that put both sides in harms way .
Wilkerson is one of the few experienced people that understands what is happening .If Maher did his own research., as a supposedly intelligent man , he would arrive at the truth , however distasteful it is to him , and he may find the integrity and honesty he's been missing .

If the summit was actually about nuclear weapons, I would agree with Col. Wilkerson but the fact is we don’t have any idea what the conversation was about. So, everyone parroting the talking point is worthless. We’ve got to stop thinking of Trump as a leader and especially one who is interested in doing what’s best for the United States and the world. I suspect the conversation for Trump was more self-serving as Wilkerson stated.

Remember: twice the U.S. announced they would retract from Syria (spring 2017 and 2018) and within a week a chemical attack allegedly happened. - Practically the only thing that could derail the development so favourable for Assad. - Putin met several times with Netanyahu so ....

+Alice Wonderland That's not the point he was making. He clearly criticized Trump for his lack of any understanding of diplomacy, and for his self-serving motivations. That doesn't change the fact the US should not isolate Russia but rather continue a dialogue as it always has, even through the cold war.
I actually do get that, and I agree with him totally. I watch Wilkerson all the time for his knowledgeable and common sense inputs. I agree with him far more often than not. But talks wont be working as they should right now because Trump is not diplomat or leadership material. Hopefully, this too shall pass.

Not sure his guests agree when he lets opinion override facts.
Whatever Wilkerson argues even if it's right, is irrelevant when one considers that our 'leader' is incapable of understanding the complexities of any of these technologies or policies. Wilkerson damns Helsinki with faint praise. Keep Putin in perspective. And trump knows nothing about nuclear command and control or arms limitations/ reductions.
Wilkerson is credible BUT he contradicts himself hugely. He says we need "Good meaningful talks" with Russia, but he also says everything trump does is about domestic political considerations (paraphrased). This is NO way to talk about nuclear disarmament or nuclear anything. HOW can we conduct "good meaningful talks" when trump is playing to his political base and NOT for the best interest of our country? Maher is coming from the position Trump is just incapable of "meaningful talks" (it's all about trump) AS WELL as understanding you can't negotiate with Putin...a guy who kills or arrests his political rivals...a LONG time KGB/GRU guy who is clearly USING trump to his advantage. We might need to negotiate..WHEN we get a REAL president back in office... not a clown.
