Hey OceansVideo, Danke für Deine Nachricht. Weissabgleich kann man einstellen, halt nicht bei jedem Programm. Dazu drückt man auf Menu, 4x mit Cursor nach unten, danach 1x rechts und wählt dann zwischen der Automatik, Tageslicht, Schatten, Glühlampen, Neonlicht sowie dem Shutter aus. Total also 6x bis man die Auswahl treffen kann. Samui war einer der Schauplätze, richtig, nebst weiteren Inseln. Die Kamera ist für solche Einsätze natürlich prädestiniert. Gruss aus der Schweiz
Yes, this cam is very easy to use and perfect for beginners, in the green picture mode the cam knows what you want to reflect. The new sensor is good, also in low light. The old model WG-1 hat too much noise.
it was a natural setting, it is no problem to change to a more colorful setting. Some people like more color, some people like more natural.
Da danke ich auch mal für das Video. Gerade das Rauschen ist etwas, was mich interessierte. Da werde ich von den W80 mal zur WG-2 umsteigen.
just bought one yesterday and i love it. Especially the high speed video !! I´m just a bit disappointed because it can only film 15 seconds of high speed vid and i did not find any option to increase the rec time :( it still was a good buy. i recommend :)
Yes, this cam is good, the WG1 have more image noise, the sensor makes the difference.

ah, ok. You can use some manual modes, focus or white balance and put them on the green button. A really nice feature.

Stimmt, die grüne Taste hat diese Cam ja auch, die nutzen wir vor allem bei den DSRL`s von Pentax. Schneller als mit einer einzigen Taste kann es dann ja nicht mehr gehen... :-)

One thing I'm missing is "abusing" the WG-3 as an action cam... I ordered one yesterday for using it on a motorbike. There you have vibrations and wind.

The question is for what you want to use this cam. Because a normal cam can make better pics, but for diving and snorkeling you need a waterproof bag or this Pentax cam.I got prints here until A3 and can say, yes, the quality for this special cam is good.

Good question, the concept is different. GoPro is small and perfect if you put it on a helm, Pentax Optio WG2 you can zoom, have a flash, can do macro fotos... What you want to do with the cam? Under water? Sports? Or just a robust cam to go on the beach?

Is the camera easy to use, including the options inside it? Thinking off maybe buying this camera for my vacation trip soon. But it's kinda my first OWN camera so I wonder if it's a good choice.
This video shows some really clear images so I actually think this camera is quite worth it. Just for confirmation a newbie can handle the camera too.

Sorry for the answer, this cam doesn’t offer full control over aperture or shutter speed, but ISO, focus, and white balance can all be set manually.
When you ask what else in the video, well....I didn't see you using the optical zoom while you were filming. Can it zoom in or out while you film and still have that 1080p resolution or do you have to zoom to a certain spot before hand and then start filming? Thanks
It is possible to zoom directly in a film, but the problem is that you hear the noise from the buttons (you can hear it by 0:20).
You mean the noise at 1:45 and more? The noise came from the boats near us
