A Rickenbacker 4001 bass from the 80s would be around 3,000 to 4,000 bucks. The rickenbacker guitars are worth even more. I have an 87' Strat plus with Lace sensors that I could sell for at least 4 grand.
Another awesome fuckin' story Steve. It was a sweet axe for sure but I think any true rocker has had to sell their favorite guitar. I had a sweet Les Paul I had to sell to pay the rent in my early 20's. At least you have some great tunes and stories that you got out of her.
No I was living in the Philippines when American Standard came out. And I'm not even sure if I would have participated in it if I was asked. To me, the Jabbers aren't the Jabbers unless GG is fronting the band. To me, American Standard is another band but still using the Jabbers name. And don't forget..GG played most of the drums on all Jabbers recordings.
@@drasticallyreduced Thank you.. I feel the same of course, about the lack of GG. American Standard with uhh.. That guy on vocals (Jeff dahl?) was still decent, though nothing to do with GG. "High on drugs" is definitely the single. It rules and was my personal anthem for about a year drinking and drugging and getting dumped!
There’s a comment I saw on a video of the Jabbers basement video where someone was talking about your guitar. Someone replied asking what happened to you and someone said you died💀
😂😂😂 I wasn't expecting to be taken to Nazi Germany and back in a Mosrite video. It's a type of guitar that doesn't pop up too often in the UK. I know one guy over here who plays one in a pretty awful Pop Punk band.
Mosrite never really did seem to make much of a dent outside North America and then Japan. Even now, though, they're not well remembered in their home country. Maybe some day, the company's legal troubles can be sorted out and the guitars can be made again under the Mosrite name. But I don't know much about it.
No I had about 20 guitars but been selling some off...thinning the herd. All my guitars about $200 or less and all single coils..I don't do humbuckers. But I have a few nice guitars..a 1986 Les Paul Jr. and a 1958 Silvertone (Danelectro).
@drasticallyreduced Oh, that's pretty cool man. I have a black Gibson, Les, Paul studio 1993. And I have a cherry red transparent wood grain Gibson SG. 2016. Also a White (cream color now) Fender Stratocaster made in Mexico, made in the good factory before the fire. And what amps did you use in the Jabber's days? And what do you play now? I have a 4x12 Orange cabinet (1980) and a 100W tube amp, By Blackstar - Series One. I'm 47 now, and want to get a band going again, but Toronto Canada sux ASS!
I usually played thru Alan Chapple's ( the bass player) Marshall 50W head (not sure the model) and a Marshall cab. Also later I had a Fender Concert tube amp that I played thru that Marshall cab. Never used a pedal..cuz I barely could play leads back then..lol. Today I pretty much record all my stuff thru an old Zoom G2 Nu guitar effects box right into my audio interface. But a few songs I miked up a Blackheart tube amp. If you listen to my cover song of the Sonics called Strychnine that was the Blackheart amp with my Gibson LPJ.
Thanks for sharing! I love all this rocknroll reminiscing!
Can’t believe the price in the UK my mate brought a Rickenbacker BASS about the same time 85-86 it was three or four hundred pounds!

This was fucking hilarious, made me laugh out loud. Love these stories. Thanks for posting them.

@@drasticallyreduced also, shout to the Philippines... Imagine GG out there.. Hahaha.. Dont stop these great videos pls
Wimpy Rutherford (ex Queers) on vocals on that. My favorite song on there is Sucker Punch.
My 12 song 26 minute "album" Cow Hampshire much better than American Standard. Listen to it and tell me I'm wrong..lol.
Daaaaamn, 50 bucks !
Those Renaults 😂 were notorious sh*t boxes in the early 80s.
How much did you let it go for?
A lot less than Johnny's when his was auctioned a couple years ago lol

My guitar more well known than me 😀

If it wasn't for this Nazi boss being so chill I might have never gotten this guitar.

Btw wasn’t old joey a bit right wing baby!
Johnny..not Joey
What year are your other mostrite's? And did they cost you a lot of money when you bought them?
That picture with the other Mosrites is from the collector who bought mine. I wish I had all those Mosrites.
Oh shit my mistake, What do you play now? Just that Dan electro I see in the back.

Come on, just tell us how much you got for it.
Take a guess lol
@@drasticallyreduced $5000usd.
Way low..these guitars (without any history with a related "known" band) go for about 8 to 10k last I knew.
@@drasticallyreduced so $10,000 then.
