Yes Yuqi's voice really is like that, and it's fantastic she found Soyeon who USES it when she writes their songs instead of hiding it. Soyeon licks actually a lot of things in their MVs, it was a thing back when I was paying a lot of attention to them.
edit: yes that's Yuqi at the end. One of the few times I didn't bias the leader or dancer of a group.

Soyeon even told Yuqi to change vocal coach to find someone that would develop her unique voice. She often speaks quite passionately about the value in the uniqueness of everyone's voices and in making the most of them.

"My bag" is a great example of why you shouldn't ignore their b-sides.

I found (G)I-dle the exact same way that you did. Back in the days of the two MV's you just watched, Soyeon was writing and producing the majority of the groups songs. These days Yuqi, Minnie, and Miyeon also contribute to the writing and production of the music. All title tracks are still written and produced by Soyeon. You'll find that many of the MV's have a different type of music. They do it all well. I would reccomend "Senorita" and "Lion" next. Sort of going from old music to newer music. "Latata" was the debut song and includes the member names in the lyric subtitles so that is a good one also.

Watch their "Killing Voice" performance from about a year ago, for a quick intro to their raw vocal talents, their general discography, and the fun they have with their own music. Welcome to Neverland =)

Good way to start (G)I-Dle journey, with two songs made by Soeyon (like 80% of I-Dle songs). You can continnue with their old classic like 'Lion' or even their debut song 'Latata'. They really changed and became even more badass after Soojin had to left the group. Then we had songs like Tomboy, My Bag, Villain, etc....
You can also chek 'Is This Bad B**** Nuymber from Soyeon solo album, a masterclass coop with Bibi and Lee Youngji.
As a neverland, it's hard to really choose songs as for me, each one are really good and most of them are amazing, even the smallest B side of each album. I love them.

Oh My God is kind of intense as introductions go. It's about innocence/light vs. corruption/dark. The who is she? is Soojin, the member their terrible company kicked out. She plays the role of the character corrupting the other members in the MV. In the making of video she said quite matter of factly, "my job is to seduce the girls". Boy howdy.
Name Time. For some reason they spelled it Y-U-Q-I in English letters when it's pronounced more like oo-gee. Light G, but more than a K (same situation as Gahyeon). The sixth member is Shuhua, ignore the spelling for her too. Two syllables shoo-wuh. The other members are like you want to say them. Minnie really did pick that idol name after Minnie Mouse. Maybe she thought it was easier than Nicha Yontararak.

Wait...so as of the present time Soojin is not a part of the group anymore? Wtf. She was catching my eye the most (besides Soyeon) in these two videos.

@@RoldyReactssRIGHT!!?? A few years ago between the Hwaa and Tomboy comebacks they kicked her out. Rumors of bullying in high school that came from a person who said Soojin didn't bully her in high school, it was someone else, and they tried to end her career. Soojin is a soloist now, just had her 2nd comeback.
Without spoilers, I like Nxde so much extra because it was the second title song after CUBE kicked her out when I was struggling with what I'm going to do with G-Idle now, and Soyeon said, "put Soojin in the comeback without putting Soojin in the comeback."

@@RoldyReactss yeah agreed with @thegroovyjones, a few hints for Nxde without spoiling anything major is that Soojin's role model is Marilyn Monroe. Soojin was also the one I was drawn to after Soyeon, I became a fan in May tho so all we have is her solo stuff to look forward to for the next few years until IDLE doesn't resign their contract with CUBE (fingers crossed). also Yuqi's name is spelled like that because she's Chinese. The Chinese pronounciation of her name is something like yoo-chee but the korean pronounciation (i have no idea why they're different) is oo-gee. most ppl use the korean pronounciation when talking about her. IDLE is relatively "diverse" with Minnie being Thai, Shuhua being Taiwanese, and Yuqi being Chinese. The other 3 are Korean.
general comments bc i'm a yapper:
(G)I-DLE has HELLA lore. there's plenty of youtube videos to react to, i like the ones done by woo bc they're well researched.
The theme of the mini-album "Oh My God" is on (called I Trust) is about believing in yourself and your feelings. OMG was inspired after a bunch of netizens were being homophobic after they won an award for Uh-Oh and were celebrating while singing the award stage by kissing each other on the cheek. Soyeon said fuck that. The M/V is really complex- my interpretation of it based on things i've read and what i've inferred, is that Minnie (og girl in white with braids) and Soyeon (featuring short black bob) are in Purgatory/some waiting space, deciding if they will repent or sin. This sin is ofc, loving a woman but Soyeon wanted to leave it up for interpretation a little (or didn't want the backlash from directly stating it). Soojin is the devil who is trying to seduce them all. Yuqi (deep voice, you were right) is like an angel figue who fell in love with Miyeon (first godly looking girl) but was possessed by Soojin, that's why she falls and her eyes are red in the second prechorus. Shuhua and Miyeon are goddess figures, Miyeon remaining pure but Shuhua being tempted by Soojin, which makes Soyeon jealous of her. Soyeon gives in to her sin, and loves Soojin, you can see her replacing Shuhua in the whisper scene because she gave her love to Soojin. That's why she ends up in "hell" at the end of the video, but she's happily there. She decided to be herself and trust herself, which is why she is having run rolling around in hell. Minnie, on the other hand, tried to resist, but felt herself being corrupted by dark thoughts (or women's hands that appear on her clothes). this is my interpretation, but to resist sinning (being gay), she ends up committing a (arguably greater) sin (suicide) and that's why she ends up in hell at the end too, but miserable. Denying herself brought her to the same place as Soyeon, but in a state of misery and unfulfillment. On an overview, the religious symbolism might make this song seem a bit homophobic for less thoughtful viewers, but the religious imagery is actually saying, "if you condemn me anyways, I will just live my life as I want, and trust my feelings" it's beautiful. It's the song that got me into them, I'm a lesbian.
the theme of Nxde's album is "i'd rather be hated for being myself than loved for putting on a mask" though the song itself is a bit more about the oversexualization of the kpop industry. Uh-Oh is basically Soyeon's response to all the ppl who didn't believe in her.
Personally my favorite member is Soyeon, and I love her raps. She's pretty widely recognized as the best kpop rapper on the women's side, and in the top 20 of all kpop rappers. A few of her best raps are in $$$ which is a B side, LION (which i saw you were recommended), i personally think I'm the Trend is a really fun one, Dark X-File (also about Soojin), her solo work: is this bad b**** number and psycho, she did a dope ad for shake shack called Ah-dda, It's delicious, and she also did a lot of incredible raps pre-debut on a show called Unpretty Rapstar. My favorites from that show are her rap battles and this one where she's in a yellow outfit, but they're all incredible. She was a high schooler and everyone else was older, but she was so skilled some of them called her little Unnie (big sis, respectful). If you want to see her vocal prowess check out Super Lady, her song Fire, and her Sketchbook performance of LION. If you want to see her dance like rent is due watch the MY BAG practice video. Also (G)I-DLE posts videos for the making of the title track, so I'd check that out if you want to see her production, Nxde or Super Lady are my favs of those.
Sorry for the yap fest, it's 3am. Let me know if you want any other explanations/links for some of the niche raps.

Currently, with the members of Blackpink and Mamamoo all focusing exclusively on solo endeavors, gidle moves from number 3 to number 1 on my kpop gg list. But not entirely by default, cause gidle is well deserving. First they create their own concepts, write their own lyrics, and arrange and produce most of their own music. Self-producing is rare in kpop and even more rare with kpop girl groups. Soyeon is brilliant, her creativity and imagination are off the hook. She always develops unique and trendy story lines and then delivers them on such an artful stage. More gidle, please react to their mv's LION (my choice for SOTY 2019) and NXDE. Looking forward to many more of your reactions, so I decided to subscribe to your channel.
