That cover is the first Frazetta cover I ever purchased when I was a kid from the SF Book Club. Fantastic! I have of course, a collection of Frazetta book covers now.
Excellent chat with Sara! I purchased the book and had to wait just over three months to get it, but it's worth it! Always like to listen to Sara talk about her Grandpa!
I bought the $600 limited edition version ... love it, it's the centerpiece of my art books from all the greats from van Eyck to Van Gogh (and Frazetta)! bummed that it's not real leather, but so much happier that it's Taschen as it's printed in Italy and not China like so many coffee table books are these days.
Your video got me to finally order this gorgeous book. I plan on rewatching it so Sara can guide me through the book once it arrives. Thank you for the interview and insight!
@@TheComicLounge Taschen used to publish same format books (big, thick & heavy slab-like hardbacks), beautifully made, at an RRP of £30-£50. I've got 2 by Giger, and 1 by Bosch. They inexplicably added -/+ £100 to the pricetag...
At the RRP (literally over £100), I hope Frazetta doesn't have any low income fans. Taschen used to be a really good artbook label IMO but in recent years, they've shrank the average format of their books to silly sizes (just look at HR Giger 40th Anno... Why bother?) and raised the price of their "artbook sized" artbooks to frankly insulting prices. Especially insulting when you remember they used to publish artbooks of this size for ~£40.
I'll watch anything Sara Frazetta related, she is the BEST.
I would love to see a Frazetta coloring book!
Sara Frazetta rocks! So knowledgeable, charming and funny.
Yeah, she's amazing! So many awesome stories too.

Such an incredible publication through and through. So happy for Sara and the Frazetta Girls setting the standard for Frank!

1:12:12 The Brain. Something that's bugged me for about 45 years now... How the hell is that demon gonna swing that sword down past his own horns???
Pity about the obscene pricetag
I think it's well worth the price. It's a beautifully made book.

I wish they were cheaper also.
