    I can hear and see spiritual passion in Tyson's playing. We don't smoke, drink or party. In our church - this one of our forms of clean and Holy entertainment. He's not playing rock or blues. He's not lying and joking in the church. Rather, he's playing good ol fashion Gospel music and doing it well. May God Bless this man for sharing the Gift He has placed in him to express himself via music on the Hammond B3 Organ. When God hears Moses Tyson play - he hears the music that He placed in him.

    I keep seeing the word Humble Look as a musician with are real anointed gift. When God give you skills and it's for his purpose, why be humble, if he was playing blues,R&B he won't be humble and neither would most of you.You people need to get off the so holier than thous righteous kicks, and experience what God really has for you to share He wants all of his gifts for his glory,to be share with a boldness and sureness.David didn't care what anyone thought, he danced out of everything he had on.

    If you could play like this I imagine you'd be on UA-cam as well. I've never been jealous of anyone else's gift because God has given us all a gift. Trouble is, many of us don't know what it it because we haven't discovered it yet. When you find yours it will be all right to display it.

    No matter what anyone says, Moses Tyson is one of the best. And yes, one is suppose to take pride in their work for the Lord. I don't believe that he is trying to compete with anyone. I believe he takes it serious what he is doing for the Lord. The Word says make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye land. And you are to give God your best and that is what Moses is doing. Stop being a hater and do your best with the talent that the Lord has given you. Most are hating because of jealously. Moses I am a big fan of yours and I feel the Lord moving in each of your songs and I thank God for you. Keep the spirit of the Lord moving in your work. Thank you and Thank God for you. Be Blessed.

    I have seen this man in church and have recorded his playing. I have recorded many gospel artists live in Houston. I believe that Bro. Tyson is attempting to impress the crowd here in order to sell CDs. I don't doubt his talent or his musicianship. As for showmanship, prior to Bro. Tyson and UA-cam, I don't recall a CD that focused on this particular style of organ playing. Usually, the cold-blooded organist was playing behind a choir or soloist. Remember the old days when musicians were to be "felt - not heard"? I believe that he was the first, or one of the firsts, to break that mold.
    When Bro. Tyson was first heard on KTSU in Houston, most of us church musicians wanted to know who he was. Yes, he was showing off, but we all knew he was good - really good. Essentially, Bro. Tyson is highlighting a style that we all used to take for granted - a cold-blooded (usually Baptist) organist who could make the organ "talk". Now, I am glad to see so many videos of people actually teaching what you used to have to learn sitting next to someone who knew your name.
    It is worth noting that Bro. Tyson is Sly Stone's cousin and like most of who took the time to learn to play a Hammond organ, he is a PK.
    I agree that this video is a little too much for most of us. However, I am grateful that Bro. Tyson stayed in the church and did not remain with Sly. He has been an inspiration to many gospel keyboardists who heard him play and then went home or showed up early to church to practice.
    If you're even looking at this video, you are probably a musician or minister. If so, you know that he is one of us. May God bless him and get even more glory from his gift of music and his gift of encouragement. This man made me a better musician and recording engineer without knowing my name.

    I have read mostly all of the comments and I must say some of you are real haters. This man has a gift and if that gift can bring a soul into the kingdom he has served his purpose. His gift speaks for itself and he does not have to be or need to be in competition with anyone. To God be the glory. I didn't view him as a showman, that was his expression of his ministry. My spirit was lifted up and I received a blessing. By the way this is my first time ever hearing him play . He's awesome and may God bless his ministry more abundantly. I was blessed beyond measure today. The holy spirit led me here. To God be the glory.

    Music is not a competition...there's being a crappy musician, a basic musician, and then there's just straight up soul. Of course one artist will have some trouble "keeping up" with their music...it's about the vibration of your consciousness, just like how a child can't learn things an adult must learn...you have to know yourself, and then determine whether or not you want to communicate with that artists energy (whether you're playing with him, or his music) Once you are open, you are renewed.

    Think of the action of rejecting ideas not something out of fear (though it usually is.) But out of vanity, it's the ego telling itself that this information will change me, and then it'll ask if it's better or worse than their current belief, and then if it's even worth it...the latter is a social fear, the fact that they're shying away from the truth because they refuse to be singled out...just remember, this is a HUGE world, you literally can become your community, but it can also become you.

  • @prspad

    By erasing labels, and comparisons, you become intuitive, and intimately engaged in the moment, which is essential for creation. By being nothing you allow yourself everything (doing nothing literally rewires your brain, which is why meditation is important.) This may seem the opposite of carpe diem, just think of "you" as a filter, "you" takes away things you think may lead you astray when really it narrows your perspective. When you label someone it limits what else they could be.

    Moses Tyson says in a recent video that the best mentor he had on the organ was Billy Preston and how he was glad Billy took the time to better the craft in playing for God. Moses is not saying he is the "baddest organist" so everybody needs to calm down. Billy past his experience and legacy to Moses by teaching this man what he knows and does now and that is what God want us to do. We need to help others with the same gift better it for the magnification of God.

    Leave the 16th drawbar in and pull the next 3 out I believe and then kind of play around with the 2th on the very end on the top manual. Only the 8 drawbar is out on the lower manual. Then try all but the 16th pulled out as well on the top manual. But you have to check out the presets on the far left of the organ and then try to match them. The problem I see with today's organists are that they are often stuck with 1-3 drawbar settings. Take the time to study as many sounds and eras as you can!

  • @ceddagr8
    @ceddagr8 12 років тому

    Well Bill Preston got it from Alfred Bolden! It's called stewardship... We learn from those greater than us! Legacy is to last forever. The problem is that only a few can bare the baton at time. The rest rather hate on this Tyson's skill, than to cultivate an era. You can't forget the old school way....never know when you'll need it!

    i love the drawbar settings and organ tricks. You don't hear no more of that anymore. I like new shool players but you gotta respect the old school players and they need to pass their knowledge to the next generation. when you blend the two together you get a whole different view of music. :-)
