Sanborn Fans, this track is from around '93 or 94, and it was played so much in my car and home. We Got By. I saw and met Al Jarreau, but, never got a chance to see David Sanborn. I felt his music for years. This guy will be missed musically. "C'mon David, say something."
Sanborn, my first 'smooth jazz' album, 'As We Speak'. Collaboration with Al Jarreau on "We Got By" was top tier. An emotional upload track of these two profound artists. And yes, the album 'Pearls" by David is a must in anyone's collection. Peace
RIP David. 🙏🙏. Btw, when his album PEARLS was released I was working at this record store in Puerto Rico and as soon as I saw it I grabbed a copy and paid for it without even listening to it. This lady, a friend and customer, walks in and knowing how much she loves Jazz I immediatelly told her about it and so she bought a copy and left. The following day she walks in and says to me: "this album is the closest I've ever come to having an orgasm with my clothes on". Like me, she loves Miles Davis, especially his ballads, and so I knew she was more or less quoting Miles. If somebody asked me to describe that album I would quote Miles also. "PEARLS is the closest you'll ever come to having an orgasm with your clothes on". Whenever I wanna get down with my lady I usually start with PEARLS as background music. Thank you so very much David.
How could I have forgotten about Al Jarreau??? Just beautiful. Thank you for this - now I will not forget again!!

💯. This is off of Al Jarreau’s “Tenderness” album released in 1994. The whole album is amazing 🤩
I saw them at the National Auditorium Mexico City back in the 90's. David was the best sax player ever. R. I. P.

Just recently passed away, so sad
Indeed 😞
I'm just finding out. Im so saddened by the news. My ex girlfriend got me into David Sandborn forty years ago. I wonder how she's taking it.
Call her up and find out 🙂
