Sattva is one of the three gunas of human body which indicates calmness, unselfishness and equilibrium. The other two are Rajas (activity, passion and selfishness)and Tamas (darkness, laziness, ignorance). So if you convert rajas and tamas into sattva you become the calm person, a stable person and that’s why the tattoo “sattvam”!!
