To add to the discussion of Vander's parenting, one thing I will point out is that while Silco definitely sees himself in Jinx and projects his issues onto her, Vander did the same thing with Vi. Only instead of "everyone betrays us" it was "everyone depends on us," and that messed her up for years afterward as well. Unintentionally giving her the belief that Jinx is her responsibility and everything she does wrong is Vi's fault to some degree I think that if Vander had raised Powder, he would have struggled to connect with her as deeply as Silco did, but I think the big difference would have been that once she was a bit older he would have taught her responsibility for her actions. That's one thing both Vi and Silco shielded her from, the truth that her actions have consequences and she is accountable for how those consequences affect other people, so she needs to start taking that into account when making decisions
@@tobototoki It's possible that even back then she reminded him a little bit of a young Silco, and his guilt over what became of his brother made it hard for Vander to express to Powder how much he cared, even though he clearly cared a lot based on his final words Or maybe they really were closer than we know, it was just that most of the time in act 1 we were seeing things from Vi's perspective, so private moments between Vander and Powder weren't something she would be privy to
Completely agree it’s entirely possible he felt that way, and if that’s true then it makes his final words to Vi to take care of Powder even more poignant to me 😢 I really REALLY hope they had more of a relationship than what we saw, but even just that wordless interaction they had at the end of ep 2 was enough to show me that he really cared about her
You're correct, Ekko is the only black male in the show(including background characters). There's a few black female characters(Mel, Sky, Shoola etc). I think Sevika is Indian since that's an Indian origin name meaning "female servant"in Hindi
"What's your plan to fix this?" Finn asks Silco the same question that Jayce asked Heimerdinger, and neither one of them has an answer. Heimerdinger changes the subject and talks about Hextech, while Silco basically just says "don't question me or I'll kill you." But nobody on either side actually has a plan for how to go forward and improve the situation between Piltover and the undercity, they're just winging it and hoping for the best
The Enemy music video shows a little more about Ekko and Powder's relationship and gives better context to this fight. Also, a cut content scene showed that Ekko tried to save her but she didn't want to be saved. Explaining "the boy savior" nickname a bit better.
Something to point out, When Jinx pulls the pin on the explosive, typically she attaches it to someone. This time she let it roll off her hand. I think this was Powder trying to go out as Powder.
@@tobototoki It's one of those things you may need to watch a few times to catch. That is the thing, there is so much detail in each scene, you can discover things after several times watching any of Arcane.
Wdym it's Cap?? Marcus didn't tell Silco that Vi was in Stillwater you obviously wasn't paying attention when the whole time Silco thought that Vi was dead (even jinx) which Marcus told had him that she was but he lied to him to keep Vi safe...
Haha this is like my 4th time watching this show, so off the top of my head, it was probably a spur of the moment comment I made or I was just being sarcastic. We def know that Marcus didn’t tell Silco about Vi!
@@tobototoki You're kinda right though...while Silco didn't INITIALLY know that Marcus put Vi away in Stillwater, he DID find out from Sevika in episode 5 that Marcus put Vi there. I think Silco was going to explain to Jinx the entirety of the situation but Jinx wasn't having any of that and ran out of there before he had the chance. Another great example of missed opportunities that could have made a somewhat "positive" difference.
Vi: i think i might want a relationship with someone. Jinx: and i took that personally. Her inability to see that Vi could love her and Caitlyn at the same time, that Caitlyn isn't replacing her but is an addition, is pretty tragic.
@@tobototoki I also think that the bomb powder (and I use the name deliberately) released at the end was her attempt to try and go out on her own terms, to kill powder and Jinx after one last 'play' fight with her childhood friend, and after her sister once again (understandably) walked away after Jinx jinxed their reunion. I personally think this moment is the real death of powder.
@@gustavgustav2670 It makes me wonder if Jinx could have handled the situation better if Caitlyn wasn't an enforcer, since they are just as much "the enemy" in her head as Silco is in Vi's (Which does kinda make it funny that Sevika gets to deliver the blow of their new allegiances to both sisters) I think learning that flips Jinx's entire world on its head, because she's spent the last 7 years believing that Vi hated the enforcers more than anything, and if she were to come back from the dead and see her now, that would at least be one thing she would be proud of Jinx for. The way she is still keeping up Vi's fight against the enforcers. To find out she was wrong about even that had to be awful
If I could make a smol recommendation, please don’t lean so far into the mic that your constant sniffling is being picked up. Or get a better boom. It’s hard to watch when you have misophonia. Otherwise I would like to watch your videos.
Yeah we lowered our mic input for our latest reactions so that it’s not picking up the sniffling as loudly! Should start seeing it in the next few weeks of uploads

Great point and that’s something I’ve wondered about too if Vander had been closer to Powder

You see Jinx with the mechanical firelights in ep4 a couple times, so foretold. You've got to watch the 'Enemy' music video eventually.
Definitely adding the music video to our list! Someone else mentioned there’s more context in there
The POWDERkeg ignited!
W pun!!

Seriously!! She’s one of the more complex characters we’ve come across in this show, but reacting to this show has made me empathize and love her more

Am i the only one who feels bad for Marcus?
I’m sure there might be others 😅
The Arcane footage is a few seconds behind your reactions just so you know.
Oops! Sorry about that for this one :/ we’ll let our editor know so hopefully we’re more matched up!
