I experienced the same issue with my DJI phantom 3 standard when I tried using it after more than a year of inactivity. This is despite of the fact that both the controller and batteries were fully charged.
If recalibration and changing batteries doesnt work, do try to use a the dji go app on a different device. some phones/tablets are not compatible according to DJI. My Samsung Galaxy Ultra 20 FE simply doesnt work.
Is there any way to test the battery to check that it is faulty? I know if we had a spare good battery then it can be easily checked but without a spare, is there some test. I have same issue. Fully charged batter but not operating
He solved the question of whether there is in fact a question to solve. On a related note he did find that SOMETIMES simply using a different battery enables the engines to start as usual.

I had the same problem, so I recalibrate the controller and walla, it works.
