I wish this couple was around when I came out...I struggled for so long and even after a marriage and divorce to my ex-wife, being gay has been a struggle... I was raised in the church and even tho my mom didn't disown me she threw my brother out of the house who came out way way before me, the trauma because he committed suicide because of it made me hide it another 10 years..I hate that I lost my brother but I love that when I finally worked up the courage she let me know she already knew for at least 2 years before and she didn't want to lose another child and was just waiting for me but she loved me no matter what. We still struggle a little but we can at least talk. But now we are watching the show the show together and it helps us communicate communicate

At 31:25, I feel like he missed an opportunity in talking about mental illness, since he didn't talk about the characters. Having gone through much grief and loss alone, dealing with Major Depressive Disorder & PTSD & now growing older alone & not having much to look forward to in the future, it is really beautiful to watch Marina's character development, how they support & care for each other in practical ways, M's brokenness & eventual vulnerability with C, dealing with grief & guilt, the fights & M's moving beyond her brokenness to realize this relationship is more important to her than her work, or a promotion, etc., the way they keep coming back, willing to put forth the effort to build the relationship, the deepening commitment to each other, etc. And of course, they are beautiful & have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen, after 20 years of seeing some great female coupIes (Otalia, Teriah, & Pepa & Silvia are the ones that come to mind), so they are gorgeous onscreen together & they are so natural with each other so their organic scenes are mesmerizing & believable. I may never have anything like it in real life, so I get to live it vicariously through these characters. I've often said that real love is not something you fall into; it's something you grow into and this couple is a great example of people who do that. I hope they have a story that continues for many years & that they get the happy ending they & we deserve. [ETA: I forgot one of my main points: It's not just representation that matters, but GOOD representation, so that people of all ages can have role models of how to have a happy relationship with the commitment to stay together & love each other, even when it's not so happy. That's important for same-sex attracted girls to see.]
I love her so much! I love the friendship and bond her and Danielle have. I just have to say I don't know who the guy was she had to kiss but it was clearly very bad and very uncomfortable because even her reaction to thinking about it was very strong! I felt sorry listening to and watching her talk about that.
