such weird chords and intervals yet sounds so natural and intuitive. Great song. Great tip on tuning the low E down to C for baritone parts. I think my low E is a 60, so I can get down to A before it starts to get too floppy. You've almost solved my Bass VI GAS. Still need something with those vintage Dano lipsticks though.
I love the changes. Very similar to By The Time I Get To Phoenix. That guitar is a Jerry Jones. I think he made the pickups but I could be remembering that wrong
@@JasonLoughlinMusic Sounds great. Korean Danos probably not nearly as good tone-wise. I had an 90s Dano Innuendo baritone when I was a teenager, which had a very bright and deep, full sound -- which was not at all right. I want to get that nasty Sugar Shack La Bamba growl.
Gemini makes good dano pickups....Honestly I think people hear with their eyes most of the time or never owned an old danelectro. They're not as great as folks like to mythologize them to be. Sometimes people are reacting to the recording of the guitar(mic, pre, room, tape...blah blah...) rather than its true sound. The new ones are great. I would never buy an old one but If it brings ya joy and makes you want to play more guitar it's worth it.

Something magical about the right pair of lipsticks (also the short scale length, the chambered body). Don't mean to say they have to be vintage, but at least vintage-style. The Jerry Jones has the right sound. I've been listening to some boutiques and they tend to lack the twang -- perhaps just overwound to try to accommodate modern tastes. Hey, have you ever heard of anything like a 12-string version of the UB-4? It doesn't look like anything like it exists, but I'm sure it would be absolutely amazing. It's a shame Jerry Jones is retired -- would just have to mix and match parts to make it real.

Dear god, that Danelectro is sweeeeeet!
I’ve heard a great cover of this using a Squier Bass VI and both the intro and solo tones were spot on with just the flick of the choke!
Thanks for the info. I do have a Fender Bass6 Sweet machine. I Played Bass in a local Band What a Blast , I miss those days.
