- The fans weren't supposed to be on the pitch until the Bruce Springsteen concert next Thursday but there was no stopping the Cork public celebrating their heroes as they somehow kept their championship dreams alive.
The Rebels looked down and out with four minutes to play as they fell four behind a charging Limerick, inspired by 3-03 from Séamus Flanagan.
Despite such a desperate situation, they found the energy and courage deep down to outscore the All-Ireland champions by 1-04 to 0-01 from there.
It came down to a game-defining black-card penalty decision by Seán Stack in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time. Shane Kingston was hauled down by Kyle Hayes down the left, a move the Dublin ref deemed an attempt to deny a goal-scoring opportunity.

From a Limerick man - maybe the best atmosphere at a match IV ever been to. Cork earned their win for sure that night. Hoping I'll see a full game of this somewhere.
And RTE could not have it on TV I'm not sure who is to blame ...but have my suspicions. Don't forget the turnaround from 8 down to 4 up achieved by Limerick against a fine Cork outfit. Who could begrudge Pat Horgan a medal if he wins one?
Great game delighted from a cork nan have to say limerick are still the best team hard to see anyone beating them in the final limerick people will have a great summer and the best of luck to them a savage team
I think that's the attitude of the genuine follower ....if there is a great match it can take away the pain for the losing team... if this is Limericks year is to go out we can surely all agree they were one of the greatest and at 77 I can say lucky to have seen them ...like the Dubs in their pomp also remembering the great Cork team of the 70s and Tipp in the days of the Doyles.
Good sport you are Colm
Fair play Colm, I was at the match aswell and I’ve never seen anything like it, it was one of those games that everything needed to go right for Cork and Limerick needed to be slightly off their best which they were on the night. I’ve no doubt they will still be there at the end of AI championship
man it's yet again Old Man Horgan the Hero for Cork he really is the finest Hurler the county has produced since the Great Christy Ring
Absolutely crazy that it wasn't on TV.
Yes it was
To the RTE Sports Dep. - Appreciated
Cork goalkeeper was wrong in pucking out ball, before whistle. He rushed out the puckout,he was in such a hurry
As a cork fan this was the best match I've ever been too and now it's happening again
I’d say the game on Sunday might pip this 🤣🇮🇩🇮🇩
@@seanmccarthy9986being at both games the game in pairc ui chaoimh was more historic and held more value imo. I sat in the blackrock end and watched thousands of cork fans flood the pitch. I couldn’t believe my eyes what had happened. Cork are carrying some momentum this year and not even a great limerick team could stop them in Croke Park. Cork v Clare will be the game for the ages. 🔴⚪️❤
@seanmccarthy9986 trust me it did😅
Watched this with my dad and he had never ever watched a GAA match before.
Astounded.
Holy moly, some introduction to it!
Hooked forever.
Holy shit I didn’t know I needed this sport in my life
-a baseball fan
Fair play to Rte for broadcasting this on UA-cam
Good to see Kyle hayes sharpening his nightclub moves
Best of luck in the Munster final.
you should not be allowed to watch our game .You probably never played our game in your life.i am an ex cork player
O dear up the banner
@@thegman5990 as a Limerick fan I’m delighted and relieved.
Congratulations, enjoy.
Magnificent match.
An incredible game, up the Rebels👏
Best damn game ive seen in years
Offaly vs tip u20s 2024
and the rest of the sporting world are mostly oblivious to the greatest game of them all
Amazing
GAA Go is a FOR-PROFIT corporate venture for RTE that partners with the GAA and their shareholders are the main beneficiaries.
None of the Cork championship matches in hurling or football have been shown this year live on RTE - (Cork & Kerry in Killarney in the football too).
They know gate receipts will be higher in Cork so it’s win win for all businesses, so could it be that the Cork Co board isn’t standing up for Cork supporters? Surely not? 🤯
There would be uproar if they didn’t show the Dublin games though so work that one out.
They’re suppose to be promoting the game and like a journalist wrote recently, not showing these games like this in the most culturally rich game on the planet is like turning the Mona Lisa to face the wall.
It’s a disgrace that once again corporate greed has robbed the people.
Those responsible will have to be held to account in time.
GO FRIGGIN’ CORK!!!
Classy Cork people at 4:34........imagine if they had won something in recent memory!
They must be soccer fans
To be fair they’re only kids…
Rich coming from the most sensitive fans in the country smh
Jesus... there's always 1 Karen
9:45 Can someone explain why a penalty was given for a foul outside the box?
Cynical foul inside the 25 when theres a goalscoring opportunity is a black card + penalty
0:29
Some goal by darragh Fitzgibon
I was at this💀
(I’m a cork fan)
ME TOO
clare celebrated after beatin limerick, so did tipp at half time what did they win? NOTHING
Great game, but what was the pitch invasion about, they didn't win anything like 😅
crazy, but the limerick players and fans fist pumping after going 2 points up was arguably more hilarious considering what happened in the next 2 minutes
winning against the 4 in a row all Ireland champions and one of the greatest hurling teams ever in such a dramatic way after]an epic match might seem like nothing to you but for some it was special
@kieran8464 I agree with you, if anyone disagrees they're from limerick
@slabber7514 they were happy they beat the 4 in a row champions in injury time, its a serious comeback ,doesn't matter if limerick are qualified, Cork needed to win or they were finished for the year
@@slabber7514limerick aren’t qualified and cork had every right to celebrate a big win. We’re far more used to actually winning championships down here than limerick would be over the years too , by the way!😉
Good win for Cork, celebrations a bit ott, haven’t won anything yet
Locked to GAA Go. As if the €100,000,000+ per year wasn't enough
It's a non profit organisation so the money must be needed.
There are 2,200 clubs in the country that need fund you know.
So it's either GAA go or higher ticket prices, either way they need the money.
