As an ESO player, I'm very surprised by what I'm learning from the New world community after following this announcement. I thought that ZoS was bad ... We're always complaining that every year we keep getting the same thing. A new trial, a few new dungeons, a new zone with roughly 20 hours of story and quest content, a couple of new gear sets, and one new mechanic or activity to the game (I e., scribing, spell crafting, companions). Didn't realize how bad other games had it.
New world players would probably kill for that kind of an expansion every year.
What content do you like most in ESO and what content would you like to see in the next dlc of ESO?
I played eso from near launch until 2020 and went to BDO. Got horrified by BDO and came back to ESO. I keep looking for other games but I keep seeing train wrecks. ESO seems to be the best out there.
AGS being bad doesn't make ZOS good :) It's logical fallacy. ZOS refuse to make PvP meaningfull. They sit in the most profitable option - new paid chapter every year, new furniture and p2w sets/mechanics + rmt raging everywhere. They just milk casual addicted players.
@@d3adagain385 You're right, it's not great in ESO, but it certainly interesting to see just how bad other MMOs have it as well. Doesn't mean we shouldn't ask for better from ZoS ... Just means that I can also appreciate what I do get a little bit more. Poor guys playing new world would probably be thrilled with a single expansion bringing a breath of content similar to what we got with Gold road.
@@Agumon5 Adding more content to ESO is like buying tuning to Fiat Multipla. You somehow made it more interesting, but it still looks like sht.
I can give you example of game that has great devs and constant stream of fresh new content - Fortnite 🤣 Also its free, somehow.
Haven’t played NW in a long while now, feels like the game has zero direction. Shame too, had a ton of fun in Beta.
Maybe I'm crazy but I think they have been telling us over 6 months on many occasions to please wait till June for the big announcement, and my question is: why are they saying this to us if the announcement is practically exclusive for console players?

The devs told us they already have plans for a future expansion so my hope is they drop the new zone a few months after the console release but... let's be real it's NW so probably won't come until 2025
Ever since Scot said that the PvE to PvP ratio was 5x1 players I started to doubt his decisions. This is clearly not noticed by those who actually play. Does the game's PvP basically make PvE revolve, or do people like killing the same monsters over and over again after getting everything they drop? Furthermore we had the phrase "often what players ask for is not exactly what they want" which is OK, but not in the case of an OPR map, which was the case. It was a shock to hear that. Now we have this update, where I completely agree with you, how could someone in the room not say "guys, our players won't like this" when it was so obvious? Thanks for the video! I'm thinking about playing Soulmask (solo PVE) until October, but I'll keep following you ;)
Me and my friends keep giving this game a try and then we find ourselves playing GW2 by the end of the day for good mmo experience
don't really agree with the claim that the marketing was a massive blunder tbh. it was bad and confusing for both new and old players i think, but that alone won't kill the game. pc players and content creators like you feel like the minuscule playerbase the game has left is worth catering to anymore. it isn't. game will eventually die because it's a mediocre mmo and not some scuffed marketing campaign
Theyll announce a new weapon shortly after console launch. If they wait till then, they'll have a bigger audience to get hype for it.
I don't usually find myself disagreeing with you, but this time I do. We are getting some things we asked for sure, but the issue isn't just how they delivered it. It's the span of time in which it takes to receive... well... anything. I'm a 3k+ hr. vet myself, and I truly love the foundation of this game. However, I feel like after Brimstone it's just always been about waiting and ultimately not getting what was promised. Waiting for meaningful content. Waiting for bug fixes. Waiting for devs and/or management to fix their seemingly endless void of incompetence when it comes to satisfying their player base. Just waiting and never really receiving. Life is short, there's a lot of games out there, and I'm tired of waiting.
This game will always have a special place in my heart, and who knows, maybe later down the road they'll make some seismic shift in their staff/approach that will convince me it's worth my time again. Unfortunately, for now, my copium is exhausted.
PvP zone will be in CK and it will be new addition to bottom left CK POI.
What we however want is new OPR map, we're puking playing same map for 3 years.
This new PvP FFA zone is DOA because of muskets and 500CON tanks. Can't wait to face 5 man stack of muskets that is grouped on discord and ignores FFA part just to kill you. Melee can't do that due to melee cleave.
We already know what it is... its pvp ffa extraction instance in cutlass keys. Yall keep freaking out, this was the XBOX SHOW HIGHLIGHTING CONSOLE REALSE. All the other expansion info ilke bear mount, water skill, new area , new weapon will come later. The game needs players more than it needs content. Xbox has over 100 millplayers monthly alone. I know so many people buying it on console. My son and his friends are all getting it as one example.

They are targeting a new audience as this is a relaunch. But they really should make a dev video addressing the pc players. Thanks for not bashing the game just cuz your mad. Don't forget opr matchmaking.
To say it bluntly, this is not even remotely close to the amount of content they needed to ship to somewhat make up for an entire year of nothingness. On top of that, their communication was just extremely disrespectful to their current playerbase, especially after hyping people up for an announcement that ended up being nothing but hot air. It is very obvious that they don't care about the PC playerbase anymore and rather go out of their way to deceive an entirely new audience for a quick cashgrab instead.

Idk who was asking for a pvp zone I never seen anyone asking for this. I would rather get 2 more pvp modes that the casual and sweaty can que into. PVp zones don't work; it will be a grief paradise, and teaming will happen, and if you think it won't, God bless your ignorant soul. I also disagree that the hate was 100% warranted. One raid is nothing and during this rotting 6 month winter of content the game is plagued with bugs.
I get the feeling the new PVP zone will turn out to be ESO's imperial city - everyone will go there at the start, and be empty a few months later. It'll all depend on what resources/drops/incentive there will be to want to go there. That's not content and I don't know many who asked for a FFA, in any MMO. New OPR map, new instanced PVP mode like GvG or some other objective based mode similar to OPR, fix the low gear score exploit/bug that has been in the game forever, etc. A new FFA area isn't enticing, to me at least, and is not going to bring me back. I'm happy I left earlier this year and didn't hang around hoping.
Such a sad state. I would say I am a filthy casual that would love to be a degen and play all day but just don’t have the time. I’m 3000 hours in new world and loved the game. Started at launch but haven’t played in months. I still watch every video you put out to keep up on thing but very disappointed. To hype of this June shit and not deliver is the nail in the coffin I think. The consoles can have new world and I don’t see it working. I tried the controller on PC when it came out and it’s pretty bad. Hard to take a game that designed for mouse and keyboard and have a controller. You just don’t get the same feel. RIP New world it was fun while it lasted.
The pvp zone is not a new zone, its a small area in the bottom left of cutlass keys which is being revamped. I don't think people are as mad about the lack of content as they are about the horrendous job AGS did at announcing it. For hours after the trailer dropped the entire community is scrambling trying to figure out if it's going to be a new game, a full rebrand, just a patch, etc. Trying to figure out if their characters are being deleted or if the game is even going to be more than just a coop game etc. No excuses for that trash lol

Much of the pvp community wants a group oriented pvp content or zones, not solo ffa. You mostly play a solo ffa playstyle right now so it's up your alley. But a lot of us don't play solo rat builds. We play group oriented builds and aren't as interested in solo build playstyle. We also dislike being spam shot by oppressive ranged weapons who have a truce and won't attack one another. Most of us suspect playing melee without a shield or a pocket healer is not going to be viable other than scurrying around and treating it like an ECR.
What is the point of a healer in a FFA zone? Doesn't this alienate all healers? Sure they can run around and open chests, but making it FFA screws a lot of builds. Same with heavy tanks but to a lesser degree.
The PvP island isn’t enough, most people that PvP knows it will fall especially how dead 3v3 is. No new weapon and artifacts, no ranked, no new opr map, and most importantly weapon balance. Tired of firestaff and lifestaffs in particular but other stuff like sns, musket, heavy, and blocking just not being balanced. The weapon balance is awful like life staff, fire staff, sns, musket just make PvP brutal.
The pvp zone will have no incentive to play just like opr, what more rubbish rewards at 600 il and the occassional 700 piece with int and str perks. Clueless devs. No different from world pvp and flagging up. They also advertise as ffa but people will team, they can't help but cheat if available.
The pvp zone was already leaked in one of the PTRs back in November/December it will be the bottom of cutlass keys and was already something most of the player base already knew about. Everyone is pissed off because of 6 plus months of silence because of a huge announcement being promised to only get what had already been leaked about what was coming from data mining and previous PTRs.
It's just insanely f*cked how we've already waited 9 months with barely any content, to then have to wait EVEN LONGER. Talk about not giving a shit about the dedicated players who have stuck around supporting this hot garbage since launch. F*ck me.

This almost feels like a Bless online situation. Broken game rebranded and resold again and again. Make no mistake these big businesses are not our friends. They are in it for the money. PC has been milked and now its the consoles turn.

I stopped playing about 9 months ago. This game lacks content to play as a guild. Archeage had it with primetime bosses which attracted people into the pvp/unique drops and wonderful shitstorms in the chat :]

Not only the players they lost due to the silence, but now trying to launch a console version when any console gamer can go see the game has Overwhelmingly Negative reviews now. This game will be 3 years old. What console gamer goes and buys, AT FULL PRICE, a 3 year old game with Overwhelmingly Negative reviews? If silence was to get maximum impact of the console announcement they f'd up 3x over.
Love this game so much but they need to pull another brimstone level content drop or they’re losing what’s left of the player base.

All I'm going to say is, well below the minimum was delivered. It shouldn't have taken a year for them to add this level of content. I would argue other games would have pushed something like this out in 3 months or less.

game will be sub 1000 players by october. people are not sticking around for 4 months of nothing, for a pvp island with no details, people arnt sticking around to re gear to 725 for a pvp island. war log and even that is iffy. once human and elden ring will be the nail in the coffin for this game over the summer. its a shame i have 5k hours, i lvoe the pvp combat. but even the buff of musket, turning every opr into a fps musketpr fs flare spam nightmare hellscape. and a whole 10 man trial?! WHOAA 1 week of content MAYBE?! my god the pve kids must be so excited! solo trials, that are repeatable? lol wont give 725 gear, so unless its how you farm gold... why?

I think it's nice they're adding some things but considering how long we've been waiting it's kinda shit. These updates are 5 months out too right? It all seems underwhelming honestly.
Crumbs of content after a year, and still nothing to hold anyone over until the underwhelming content gets here. We just beta tested NW for the console players. They fixed early-game content for years, never adding the end-game content people wanted. They were preparing for console. Now that it's in 1.0, or soon to be, they may start working on end-game, maybe.. not worth finding out for me tho.

Hand full of times of PvP to get the drop you want....you're joking right? The Artifacts in the PvP track take some people 100 tracks or more, I've heard of 200 or more as well. If you are still playing this game after what the Devs have done, you're just as much to blame as them.

If anything, what we the PvP players have been asking for is one, a single, new opr map. Scott claims that it “iSn’t wHaT ThEY rEalLY waNT”. But ONE new, well made, with no PvE nonsense, OPR map would have been LEAGUES better than a FFA island.

They know the PC player base is angry and toxic and they wont let us anywhere near those new players. Crossplay OPR after 3 months when they hit max level? Maybe. But all PC servers will still be dead. And I mean under 100 players dead. Since they didn't fix that problem, they are basically writing all PC players off, pretending like we don't exist, while they court their new console audience. There is no way we can enjoy the new game launch unless we buy a new copy for console. What good does 4k players on every other server leveling in newbie zones do for me on my dead PC server? Oh, and the GS is going up, so all your gear is now worthless. RIP PC.
Oh and btw, the problem with endgame isn't that it lacks content. The devs take 6 months to make content that we can consume within 6 days. The problem is the lack of replayable content. The content is there, but there is absolutely no reason for a max level character to revisit any of it. They need an alternate progression system that makes use of the existing in game XP (which is currently useless for max level players). Other games like ESO have this and it works great. The fact that they dont understand this means these people are absolutely clueless about making an MMO and they will continue to serve us the content they think we should want based on their vast inexperience and process of trial and error.

EU is totally dead, only 500 players in our server at peak times, new and returned players cannot even do artifact farms or normal content with others, everyone is in OPR. The game is dead so much. It is best to start in a new fresh start server if you want to find PEOPLE to play lol...

I get that there are issues in the game that need to be addressed but I’ve played ESO for ten years and they still have issues , I truly think the community to New World are simply upset that there will be console players in the community now. Which is wild and not a good look at the community rather the advertisement team.

Almost a year will pass by with no significant content. The new content for pc players is less than what WoW players get in a content patch (not even an expansion). Not even half of what GW2 players get in an expansion. A small raid with 3 bosses? No new zone? A small FFA PvP area that will be dead on arrival? It's just shameless.
Looks like near Cutlass Keys will be a new area, like Imperial City (instead of Telvar Stones, you get Pirate doubloon coin) and can buy stuff for Pvp with it. Looks like a dense town. 10-man Hatchery is in game...
