I still can't believe he signed that contact to stay here.
JRam and Joe Thomas are my two favorite athletes of all time Cleveland sports.

Jose Ramirez reminds me of Bartolo Colon. Both from the Dominican Republic. Both pretty soft-spoken. Both excellent in their given positions. Both love to simply play without making it about themselves.

I want these tv announcers to start introducing this man as Jose “THE GREAT” Ramirez when he comes to the plate. I mean it.

Does anybody else find it weird that he has not taken the time to learn the English language? I mean he's been here for many years now.

This is part of his charm. As long as he can effectively communicate with his teammates, no problem at all.

Jose speaks English quite well (google the video of him ribbing Freddie Freeman). Remember players are instructed in how to say meaningless platitudes in both the minors and spring training, as the last thing the club wants is to have a player say anything controversial and deflect from the win. With foreign born players the risk is doubled as things can easily be misinterpreted due to the differences in language. By having an interpreter involved, it ensures there aren't any mistakes made.
