This week's episide is highly amazing. In the movie ETD also the usage and circulation of nunchucks on Bruce Lee's hands kept Hans guards nervous and fumbled. They started slanging with each other in the midst of Bruce Lee's unparallel fight. It also kept spectators to come in front of their seats with deep longing.

Like Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee started it all inspired heath Ledger, Keanu Reeves in the matrix, wearing the big leather jacket like Brandon wore in the crow etc.. Thanks for commenting. Hi Charles. I have a many issues of the legendary british magazine Kung Fu Monthly. In one particular issue it featured one of the editors, Felix Ayteo I think it was, stood outside the KFM offices with the actual nunchaku used in 'fist of fury'. I believe a source from Golden Harvest had lent them out to KFM. They are the wooden version and KFM gives the length of the nunchaku and the chain link count. I will try and find the Kung Fu Monthly issue and update you with further details of the nunchaku itself.

made my own, kind of crude but they
were fun . Finally bought a pair when I
was in Florida at a martial arts store and managed to smuggle them back
into Canada. Still use them from time to time, not on people though.

Woooow! I saw a pair like these in the Wing Luke museum. They had a gold figure 8 chain and was only attached by a nail or pin going through the final links. So quite basic but really good for the time. Personally the fastest and most fluid fastenings I've found so far are the swivel clips like Bruce used on the Enter the Dragon nunchuks. But they do tend to break quite often.😁🙏🐉

I know he made a replica pair of the plain wood ones the same as I sent to you. Just found the screen used pair from the Mr Suzuki fight at the end of Fist of Fury sold for, wait of it......$162.500. 😲 There are said to be coated in rubber bubble grip. Which explains why they bounce when Bruce throws them on floor.😁

Can u use nanchakus Charles? I never saw Brandon Lee use them in all his movies. Do u like other martial artists besides Bruce Lee like Jet Li or Jackie Chan or Donnie Yen or Bolo Yeung or Sammo or Jean Claude etc?

@@joannecallan8527 Surprisingly Bruce was not very interested in the nunchaku in the beginning. When Dan Inosanto first showed them to him, he literally turned his nose up at them as if they were, "A worthless piece of junk." According to Dan. But Bruce started playing around with them and was excelling in their use in a matter of months. He also never learnt any Filipino arts like Eskrima, rather observing and practicing on his own. While Dan and Sigung Richard Bustillo were researching further into the Filipino arts for themselves, Bruce used to frequently ask to see what they had learnt. This is where he probably picked up many ideas to use on screen.🙏🏻

Doc by the way, what was it like touching hands with James?. I met Jesse Glover in the 90s and did cheese out with him as well and his energy and forward energy was simply incredible and this is after me studying for over five years. I was not able to touch him.
@CharlesDamianoBLC . I did some minor Chi Sao with him. It's his stories he told werebliads of info how he met Lee . The impact Lee had on Sijo. In martial arts Sijo was a rock star. Sijo helped me in 2017 in a crisis that happened to me. I will forever be in debt to him even though he is gone. He had a unquie way to deal with PTST.

I have a question for you guys. Why is the chain on Bruce Lee’s nunchucks longer than the ones that you would find today.

This is easily one of my favourite episodes. Just to have a pair made by George is a real honour. According to Shannon Lee on her website, Bruce drew the design on a napkin for George to make. Originally they were 14" (as the standard length was in Japan I believe), but Bruce found the were to long. So George shorten them and also made them from a light weight wood. Then Bruce asked for them to be slightly tapered and the grooves to be added to improve the grip. The pair seen hanging in his Barrington Plaza apartment were the ones used in the Green hornet with a 6 link chain with longer links. These were then used in the Fist of Fury dojo fight with the chain replaced by 8 shorter links. I think these were the only on screen pair made by George. All the others were made by the Golden Harvest props department, but still to Bruce's specifications. Wonderful ones to own especially since George made them.😁🙏🏻🐉

@@CharlesDamianoBLC Thanks Charles. Just to hold them must have been an amazing experience. The mass produced nunchuks borrowed the idea of the grooves. But I think the ball bearing swivels type started being sold in 1974 when they became popular. Just check out a pre death issue of Black Belt and there are no nunchuk adverts in them.

I will always be amazed at how fast he could use them.. I knocked myself out twice learning how to use them... but martial arts is kind of like that you got to go through pain to learn it

Muhammad is really depend on your bone structure and genetics. I can tell you you can certainly always improve your fitness level and the way you look. I wrote a Fitness and workout and nutrition e-book called rapidly ripped the ultimate fat burning routine. @@CharlesDamianoBLC Ok thanks I followed Bruce Lee's workout and did martial arts I did taekwondo for 5 months but my master went to a school to teach kids taekwondo then I gave up, and I start doing karate for 3 days I gave up again and then in February, I started taekwondo again suddenly, my ear surgery has started now after my surgery I kept on doing Bruce Lee's exercise but then Ramadan started. So what I am doing is doing a bit strength training, calisthenics, iron fists, and nunchucks the next day I went to the bathroom to check if I made some results but actually I have put too much mass on my body so now Iam doing is calisthenics, nuchucks and kung fu

He did use a foam set in fist of fury wrapped in electric tape but the shots in the dojo scene of him swinging them without hitting anyone are wood set way of the dragon and game of death are foam with a thin core and tapered vinyl leather covering
