    Informative video. Looks solid. Watching the testing got me curious of the wattage used by my window fans. Between 42 and 66 watts depending on speed and fan. So they'd last a 24hr+ with the ecoflow. Also tested a small Ryobi hybrid ac/battery fan. It only uses 14w on high and 6w on low. That would last a week+ depending on how much the ecoflow inverter and circuit board/display use up.

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB Рік тому +2

      They don't carry current thru that 3rd wire, it is used just for signaling. It is too small to carry much current. The two power pins are good for sustained 20-30 amps which is plenty for the 2 max. Still trying to verify (I expect my delta 2 max to arrive tomorrow but the solar stuff shipped separately and is a few days further out) the exact connection of the 'i' pin but it sounds like it is wired to one of the other two pins and the delta max detects that to enable full power charging. The other theory is that the 2 max just detects voltage - under about 30v it charges at 8-9 amps assuming a cig lighter socket connection, but 15 amps above that and you don't need that 'i' pin at all.

I wanted the weight of the Delta 2, and the dual solar input of the 2 max. Oh, I also wanted the expansion batteries to have independent solar charge and D.C. outputs like the Bluetti. Oh well. So after 3000 cycles is the battery completely useless or is it just 80% efficient after 3000 cycles?

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  Рік тому +2

      No, the capacity is reduced from 100% to 80% as with every power station as well as any rechargeable battery. Some of the cheaper brands may only have 500-1500 cycles. There's more science & tech to it. But I can forward the long version to you if you're interested via email. All my contact information is down in the description.

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB Рік тому

      Any rechargeable battery degrades with cycles of charge and discharge. Specifically they lose capacity and increase internal resistance.
      They expect this battery to still have 80% of its specified capacity after 3000 cycles. Efficiency is not the main idea, but due to increased internal resistance there is a slight loss of efficiency as well - meaning when new you might put 1.05 watts in to get 1 watt out, but after a few thousand cycles you might need to put 1.1 watt in to get 1 watt out. This is called charge cycle efficiency or just charge efficiency or cycle efficiency. Usually the loss in cycle efficiency is much smaller than the loss in capacity, but the cycle efficiency does have a larger impact at higher rates (more amps/watts) of either charging or discharging.

      😆 it's just the default on the screen, I assume it would slowly drain over time, but I have had some units sit on a shelf for 6mths and still have 80-90% battery capacity. But interesting thought if they had an actual calculation of how long the batt would last on standby.
