I don’t understand why blk ppl have such a hard time with Beyonce. I hate that we can’t support our own. She is the only relevant female artist left from our generation!
I had a argument with my coworkers about how black ppl not liking Beyoncé or respecting her artistry was weird to me… one mentioned “ all she does is please them white folks” I said Omg you clearly don’t listen to Beyonce, Beyoncé makes everything clear she’s a BLACK WOMAN and her music is for black people
Right!! People are so judgemental.....why did she watch it if it offends her...why didn't she just go watch the hallmark channel at halftime 😂..its all good though.
Jesus is my Lord and savior as well. I can still say the performance was amazing. The actual football game doesn't glorify the Lord but we still watch football and enjoy it. We as a people have got to stop the foolishness.
That guy said it- She was definitely making a point. Having an all-black ensemble, she was telling the white country musicians, remember, it was BLACKS, that started country music, and I'm going to make sure you don't forget it.
This is the problem with religion they become so closed minded and can’t just enjoy things for what they are like saying too much skin she barely showed anything compared to what we see today idk I loved your reaction but I could immediately feel the negativity from your family like yo dad had a stank face at first then he was like oh this actually pretty good but I can tell cus of they religion they feel that it’s wrong to like. I wonder if they would be like this if it was a white artist idk something to think about.
Jesus Christ is lord but Beyonce is Beyonce lol. Can’t wait to sing and dance with Beyonce in Heaven. Love your energy around the so call Christian love! Remember there’s no greater hate than the so call Christian love. Keep shining girl
what i really love is how black artist are including hbcus in their major performances. black folks got to stop taking their talents to white folks and think complain about white supremacy. we are giving them all our power. i thank prince ,Beyonce and usher 4 the love they give 2 the hbcu world
I really liked most of your family's reactions, especially the beautiful older lady and the man that was sitting beside you. I couldn't hear what everybody was saying. But those people definitely got it. Beyoncé is a Christian. In her last Grammy speech, she thanked God for protecting her. Beyoncé always prays before her performances. She asked God to bless everyone after this performance. I'm a Christian, too. I have come to the conclusion; I will never be one of those judgmental or slanderous Christians. Those without sin throw the first stone. Somebody truly has to physically or mentally hurt people for me not to like them. That one lady acting like something was evil because people had on a veil and cowboy hat on. I'm thinking if you want to see some real evil read about King Leopold. Or the Missouri governor letting a Black man be executed although it was a lot of evidence that he was innocent. I'm very tired of people being shallow-minded. People don't try to understand history, art, & metaphors. Like Beyoncé is literally doing the Hook 'Em sign that the University of Texas at Austin does. It's a very popular sign that many Texans do, even if they didn't go to that school. Beyoncé has worn gear from that school. It's like stopped being spooked over the simplest things. Like the Deltas basically do the Roc Sign, which is a Delta sign in math. The Roc Sign is supposed to represent a diamond. No Christian is perfect we may slip up sometimes, but it doesn't mean that we don't put our faith in God, and don't try to follow most of want he wants us to do.
I was wanting to scream and sing every word, but i stayed quiet and enjoyed every second so my family can HEAR the amazingness of her live vocals, i didnt want them hearing me screaming every word or commenting on every little thing. THIS HALFTIME WAS SO LIT, i downloaded it and geeked the fuck out alone after i let the family see why shes the fuckin queen. hahaha
Beyoncé is doing the Hook 'Em sign from the University of Texas at Austin. It represents a Longhorn, their mascot. People that are from Texas do it all the time, even if they didn't go to that school & like them. Beyoncé has worn gear from that school.
She’s actually throwing up the H for Houston. It’s the same signal but in this context, she’s representing her city, not UT. Also when he counts at the beginning of YaYa she says “tre” for 3rd Ward also known as The Tre.
@@slushymatis I’m a Houstonian. Not trying to be overly territorial but I’m giving context. Suggesting she’s representing UT when she’s not associated with the school vs her being from Houston performing IN Houston where the use of the sign is as common as it’s humidity is why I brought it up. Even in other performances when she’s referencing Houston, same thing. Her use of slab cars in the show is also a distinctly Houston cultural thing if you want to get even more technical about it. Never known it to represent Texas as a whole
@@manifestnow888 Yeah ,I wasn't suggesting that she was representing UT. I said the sign is synonymous with UT. If you're from the Houston area, the sign can mean you're throwing up "The H." Or it could just mean you're just representing Texas in general. I'm very familiar with Texas culture as well.
@i was alluding to the original poster saying she was doing Hook ‘em when it makes no sense. You come saying we’re both right is why my response is laid out the way it is. And speaking of schools that band was none other than TSU’s Ocean of Soul. Yes it’s a school in Houston. She uses representation wisely. I’ll leave it there
Tell your mom it is ok to accept black excellence. We get to attain excellence because we have to work thrice as much to get half the recognition due us. It is the effort and dedication we put in things we do that result in the excellence like Beyonce's. We should accept and celebrate us, not be ashame or demonize us.

You can actually tell they like her a lot they definitely feel the spirit shows up and shows out always. When mother said god is lord she was giving the greatest compliment of all thank her
Sorry but the other lady sound really ignorant. Jesus is lord...of course, Glory to God, Jesus is Lord. So how does that take away from the superstar or her excellent performance. A height of ignorance was partly displayed there..sorry but true
I’m glad your mom at least let everyone enjoy it. We are entitled to our opinion but give credit where it’s due because misinformation is at an all time high and the demonization is enough coming from elsewhere. The song blackbird has a special history that made the moment so much more powerful for me. May she continue to try to uplift blk women spirits in the face of adversity even in our homes.
Girl you in Atlanta?! It’s so hard finding like minded individuals. I’m literally doing the exact same thing you’re doing (self development) I’m waiting to buy my camera now!
People must not have an unshakable faith if they have to proclaim Jesus is Lord just so they don’t feel convicted from liking a BEYONCÉ performance lol like that has nothing to do with Beyoncé and everything to do with a lack of faith in your own God. Like that’s very strange that that’s the first thing your mom said lol
The whole Blackbird song reminds me of the "Waka" genre of music in Nigeria. It's often a dirge-like way of singing. Country music came from Africa, the Nigeria origin of country music cannot be disputed. Every part of Beyonce's singing reminds me of old school local music genres of Nigerian tribes. Not the ones marketed to the world, the ones in local languages. Shaboozey is a testimony.
Love the family gathering, but honestly, I couldn’t watch the whole video. It was just hard to enjoy the reaction I’m not gonna say what caused me not to finish but I think it’s obvious😅 but your family is very beautiful
