Just richt so as you say it. A coordinate start always to the east and the north from the south-west corner of the grid square. The right notation is indeed 017 912. If someone gives me 018 912 i wil never find the church because i wil search in east- and north direction . So the church is behind me, i wil not find her. What do they do if they give a 10 m coordinate (8 figure grid reference)? That wil be 0178 9122. How to explain that the same location has two different grid references.
A coordinate always starts from the south-west corner of the grid square and counts from the west to the east and from the south to the north. Always beginning from the south-west corner of the grid square 01 91. The right notation for the Farringdon curch is 017 912. In your example i need to go to the reference point and then return some hundred meters. Never seen this before.
Anyways I thought when you are Finding four and six figure grid reference you are suppose to go along the corridor and up the stairs not🧠 falling from birj Khalifa and jogging your street you get the concept
Thanks for this 👍 rlly helped in my geography test
i think it should be read as 017912 instead if 018912 because the church is within the grid of 017 with respect to East or point of origin.
True
I think so because when we use 4 or 6 grid reference we use the bottom left corner instead of the nearest corner
