  • Transpersonal psychology is the claim that our mental well-being relates, in some sense, to nonphysical interactions of some kind. Transpersonal psychology assumes the reality of ESP, a controversial position to say the least. But can transpersonal psychology supply its own evidence through its therapies? Or do the arguments run in circles?

    so damn hard
    (next to impossible, actually)
    to focus on this video
    because I'm drowning
    in trauma and stress
and rage and grief and shame,
    and overall emotional pain...
I wish great suffering on those that I loathe.
may they suffer, intense and overwhelming pain...

The whole point is to not try to do anything was my understanding

Morphing Reality But the mind has to intend not to try and it will be impossible. As the song says Let it go, let it go and thereafter have everything.

Zatoichiable impossible in those terms, but without intention.. just being, as cliche as it sounds, is not impossible, it is quite difficult though.

Morphing Reality no wonder monks has to be in the mountains. Buddhism is dying due to the difficulty to practice the religion as Buddha predicted.

one technique I've heard is to concoct a word that doesn't exist and is complete nonsense, for example 'bokipa', and go to a place with no distraction and relax (close eyes etc) and repeat that word in your mind over and over until you aren't thinking of very much. it could take minutes. i know it's strange, but I've found this helps me

The only way to learn who we really are is to listen to the voice of God and obey his commands. Once you do that, you will learn why our Creator used information called Satan and the Beast that "muddies" the water, how we're created and what the future will be like. This means you will get a clear picture of what the source is that gives us Life experiences. You will learn that the voice of God is God's computing technology that was used to speak his thoughts into to create a simulation program. You and I are characters within the simulation and our true reality is nothing but waves.

You can't compare the two. In fact, in Buddhism it's discouraged to seek and crave after mental stimulants.

    • @Bishbashboshboshbosh

Bishbashboshboshbosh What is pseudo about calming and training the mind? Meditation is proven to work. There are just numerous of studies that prove the benefits of meditation all ranging from better memory, increased pain tolerance, slow brain aging, and more grey matter. It's known to be effective against depression and other mental problems as well.

While true, maybe one has aversion to certain claims in the various views of Buddhism?
It's one thing to calm and train the mind, and it's something much deeper to see the inherent self-lessness nature of consciousness. These are facts. They become clouded with mysticism though, such as the views of many different planes for beings, and some schools of Buddhism that infer reincarnation is based on moralistic implications. Of course, the paradox begins as the greatest jewel of contemplative efforts - understanding the self/soul/ego is an illusion, and reality is "nondual" - is what's being implied to reincarnate from this perspective in a dualistic manner. It's weird.
That's not even getting into the topic of ESP as the video points to, which would appear to be an unprovable claim at present.
