- Catnip is famous for driving our feline friends wild but it has many benefits for us humans as well. You might be surprised to learn, for example, that catnip is edible. The dried flowering tops and leaves add a mild and refreshing taste to tea blends, sauces, soups, stews, fruit salads, especially with grapefruit and can even be incorporated into baked goods. Catnip can be paired with dried basil, oregano and thyme in Italian dishes.
Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is part of the mint family. Many of the mint family herbs, contain volatile oils, such as carvacrol and thymol, that make the Mint family powerful antibacterials and antiseptics. Catnip is fondly deemed "Baby mint" because it has these effects but it's still very gentle. Catnip is also used as a cold and flu remedy because it is a diaphoretic. Beyond these traditional uses, it can be extremely beneficial to the human mind and gastrointestinal tract as well.

It's awesome that you have an herb garden. Nothing compares to growing your own. 👍

Yes, I grow Dill weed, parsley, thyme, onion, rosemary, and dwarf ginger ...more like an overgrown window box really ...remember I live in 365 days of summer some, just for the fragrance ... only prob, is who gets them first me or the monkeys
Is it true that pearl can be consumed and has medicinal benefits?
Yes, it does. However, I can't remember if it was for internal or external use. I have read about it and I was thinking about sharing a video on it about a year ago but that unfortunately did not happen. Therefore, I will make another attempt at it. Thank you for bringing this up!
@@therefreshingpoint4106 there was also another topic I thought about it relates to this article www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-7367955/amp/Scientists-warn-superfood-porridge-topping-flaxseed-cause-cyanide-poisoning.html
But then Dr Greger says it's not true as toxic doses are far higher. I have 50g flaxseed ground each day. Am I at risk I wonder?
