Fuki) and ARTROID FEELINGS are even better than this - they're some of the best songs I've ever heard. I'm having so much fun with this album! It's like a throwback to 90s Göteborg metal, with In Flame's The Jester Race being my favorite album from that era (them melodies! 😍and December Flower has one of the best guitar solos ever written!), but with more variety, like the intro riff of Slave Domination, where the violin tags along a bit; upon repetition, guitar riff is slightly altered, plus, the violin picks up on the underlying melody ... man, I love this stuff! The main band, Unlucky Morpheus, has some of the greatest songs in all of metal. (Cadaver/Revadac, Phantom Blood, Opfer, Angreifer, Black Pentagram, Knight of Sword, Unending Sorceress, The Black Death Mansion Murders, to name a few.) Prior to their insane drummer (Fumiya) joining them, they used to be an anisong/Touhou cover band, mind you. Vampir EP (2015) is the first record with real drums; the insanely talented violinist (Jill; check out "Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun (Violin Cover)", that's just bonkers) joined in 2017. Change of Generation, Unfinished and evolution are the main, mostly non-cover albums since 2015, but they also released REBIRTH revisited, Saireco Jealousy, 並行時空の音楽会 (acoustic album), Hypothetical Box ACT3, which are all great, but may be "too anime" for some, especially in terms of vocals. The latter is a real problem sometimes, e.g. songs like Welcome to Valhalla and 誰が為に (both from the latest album) have extremely "cutesy" sounding vocals; アマリリス is simply annoying, that's too much for me, but it's totally different live! Both Valhalla and 誰が為に sound so much better on "Evolution & Diversity" that it's not even funny; and even if Fuki puts on her uber kawaii voice during アマリリス, it's one hell of a lot more powerful and less annoying sounding than on the album. The Black Death Mansion Murders is a song where the completely overproduced vocals of the album version are entirely out of place, both musically and thematically. The live version on "Evolution & Diversity" is the real thing, it's so much better! Well, as much as I love this band, I don't understand the thought process in regard to vocals at times. They often put Fuki's voice through "J-Pop hell" with all that EQ and compression like there's no tomorrow, as if her putting on a uber kawaii voice alone wasn't enough ... 😐Which is an absolute shame, because Fuki can do this totally amazing "power kawaii" voice as shown in "Dead Leaves Rising" on "Evolution & Diversity". This song it's awesome! omfg ankimo really showcase his insane harsh vocals range on this one but I'm still mesmerized by Jill's classy violin she's something else definitely.
A bit unexpected, going all the way from Amaryllises to harsh black/death, but still distinguishably Ankimo sound and super good. Happy too see the band unafraid of trying something new every time.
Well, that's why it's not an Ankimo release, it's "Unholy Orpheus". If it was 100% an Unlucky Morpheus sound then they wouldn't separate as a different project

Awesome song, very good for unwinding after my boss pestered me around full time 😂
