Nice list. But I think games like Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Vagrant Story, Grandia, Lunar 2 Complete are all top ten games. Your top three on the other hand are very good choices.
I played about 80% of these, huge rpg gamer. And FFT is very under rated, it's a GREAT game. It takes some getting used to the lvling system, and abilities, but once u understand how to do it and do it right, it's easier then it looks

All of my personal top 10 RPGs for the PS1 are mentioned here, so yeah, good list. Symphony of the Night is no "real" RPG for me. It has only some RPG-Elements. Same goes for Mega Man for me. I would also mention SaGa Frontier 2. Really nice looking graphics like Legend of Mana. Also a game which is forgotten now: Koudelka.

Dang man....Breath of Fire 4 is such an awesome game, absolutely love those graphics and soundtrack hope it gets some love from Capcom just like Square did for Chrono Cross. Suikoden II best RPG game on PSX, period.
Chrono Trigger and ff6 are SNES games. Even if they were ported to PS1. Chrono Trigger rly a hell of a game. And I loved all the small secrets inside. The details of dialoges. The creation to every single detail.
even if some of these shouldn't have been included as they came out on SNES before being remade for PS1, I can clearly see them still in the top 30... in fact only two I have a huge "not sure what it does there" is Mega Man and Castlevania.. except those two.. played and own in physical copies about 75% of the rest of the list (don't even ask, I will get buried with them before selling them.^^).. and even if I would have placed them in slightly different order, I totally agree, Suikoden II is THE RPG that any true PS1 RPG fan should definitely try at least once in his life.
BOF 4 was the gateway that introduced me to RPG games. I really like the 2D character sprites combined with the 3D environment. For me BOF4 is the best in the series
my 1st is same suikoden 2, my 2nd is front mission 3 and 3rd is diablo. played this 3 more than i could count. though diablo is better now on devilution x.
All pretty cool games. Symphony of the night is not an RPG though, it’s an action/adventure but that’s cool. I personally would have rearranged that but nonetheless, these were pretty cool titles. I never really really got into Vagrant Story, suikoden or the tales games on the ps1 but they were good.
I personally think it's a little overestimated. I understand why people praise and love it, in particular if they played it back in the days. It's a simple easy-to-go RPG. If you like collecting stuff in games, then trying to recruit all characters can be very fun. I find the level design of the series to be boring though, and this episode makes you go back and forth the same levels a few times, which does not help. But the story has its moment, its main vilain impactful. It's better overall than the recently released Eiyuden Chronicles 100 heroes (same designer, who unfortunatly passed away shortly before the release). Suikoden II does show its age though, be warned. It wasn't the most polished game upon release, and you'll feel it more than ever 25 years afterwards. There's a whole section in the middle about fighting a vampire which is quite underwhelming and nowadays feels out of place. I would probably have quit there, if the game wasn't so easy and considered a classic to begin with. Getting over this part is worthy of your patience. Definitly not worth the price it is sold on ebay nowadays, but if you already have your hands on the game, or are willing to wait the re-release scheduled next year by Konami (assuming they don't mess it up), give it a go. I personally preferred episodes Tierkries (better paced overall) on DS and V (better...Everything! :D), though, personally. And I haven't played much of III yet, nore any of IV (which I don't plan to anyway).
I found out about Suiko 2 from my friend. At first, when I saw the gameplay, I thought it wasn't an interesting game. But after playing it for a while, I thought, damn, this is a really good game. I don't know how many times I've finished the game 😁
BOTH the PS1 and 3DS Dragon quest 7 game are still both 200+ hours long Sadly their hasn't been a NEW Wild arms game in years the last CONSOLE Wild arms game still Never left the PS2 ERA. Wild arms 1 and 2 PS1 ARE still playable ON the PS4.
