Lost my soulmate almost 3 years ago to a drug overdose. We had some rough times during the 26 years were together, but this song was our unsaid sorry to each other. I would put the cd on as we were driving, and we would hold hands and without saying anything we both knew. I could feel the apology and the love in his touch. I play this a lot now, and I hope he can hear me and knows just how sorry I am that we didn't have a better life together. I love my always Steve, and I know how sorry you are for leaving me and our kids. I know you would change things if you could.

I’m so sorry to read this. I’ve fought with addiction ever since an ex got me started on the crap. Sadly we never realize until it’s too late that while we think we are only hurting ourselves it’s our loved ones that truly have to pay for our mistakes. When this song came out, I was 47 years old. It really strikes a chord in my heart still. Everybody that writes something about it considers me an old man. And I am, but love feels the same whether you're 18 or 58. You can't go back, most of the time you can't correct it, but you still feel it in your soul! It all comes around.

My experience with grief is that, after a significant time of grieving, is to just thrust yourself back into Society. Maybe go to an outdoor event like a Concert where you are around people but not pressured, something where there is something else to focus on. I hear that anything physical helps heal the heart and brain (I've studied Nutrition, Homeopathics & a little Physiology since I was 11 years old, on my own, thruough work at Health Food Stores- (yes, some train you) and in College. The endorphins help assuage your heart, mind, body & soul. (Yeah, yeah, sound like a weirdo, but, I tested it..dude, I am cognizant but not an idiot, I doubt most of what I hear when it comes to this kind of stuff).. The point is, through all of this babble, your lost loved one would NOT WANT YOU TO GIVE UP. Give yourself a chance..if not for you, do it for them. I wish you LOVE,PEACE & HAPPINESS

@@renaelee6074 I’m in out patient now, I was permitted “device time” to listen to music and watch movies on, in the facility I was in you were permitted privileges with compliance and attending group meetings, thought I was only allowed on it once a week for a about an hour, I was not allowed to keep it in my possession and I was monitored when I was using it 😊

I just went through a very tough break-up loved and still love the girl more than explanation. But, she just was scared because she had never been with someone like me before.
