Wait. Wait Wait....That Jekyll/Hyde messed me up! I was so caught off guard. He killed that. And I liked the first Sweeney but Justin REALLY embodied that character. His introduction "WHO, SIR!"....yes bruh! There's SO MUCH TALENT!
I don't want to be mean, but watching them both together gave you a real sense of a technical Sweeney and a passionate Sweeney. The first guy was a very good technical actor, but Justin WAS Sweeney Todd! And in that performance the differences were striking. That slight difference, that immersion into the role versus the learning the songs and the lines and doing perfect recital, it's what wins parts and awards.
I completely agree with Astrid. It's more about the approach than it is technical vs passionate. I actually think I like the first Sweeney better. While Sweeney is a "big" character, it's nice to see a subtler approach. Being big is a character choice that makes sense but Sweeney is definitely a character that can be played multiple ways and I feel like big is what people automatically go for. So personally I just liked the first guy slightly better. The second guy was still incredible though!
dignature123 I honestly thought the first Sweeney was better. The other guy was good, but too campy and too big with his movements. The first wasn’t great either, but I actually believed him more than the other one.
Good Lord Tony Moreno has a fabulous voice, and that Jekyll and Hyde was amazing. The Sweeneys, especially the second one, gave me goosebumps. This was just a great medley all around
Isn’t it funny how Andrew Barth Feldman (Current Evan Hansen on Broadway) won while playing Frank Abagnale Jr. and Sam Primack (Current Evan/Connor/Jarred US on Broadway) was a finalist for his role as Frank Abagnale jr?
Sams physical acting is SO on point tho like everything he's doing is acting in his character PERFECTLY! The way he walks and uses his hands -not to mention a great voice.
Joseph had a great voice and delivered an amazing performance. Tony Morenos voice is incredible like wow wow wow. JEKYLL AND HYDE WAS INSANE, I LOVED IT SO MUCH. Loved the sweeneys. The first one was very classic and I loved his emotion on the Joanna bit, he really conveyed to the audience that Sweeney was mostly psychotic in his thinking but was well liked around town. I liked the anger of the second one too and the raw passion. Moonface was hilarious and I loved the way he sang the song. Seymour is an amazing role and he did the song justice, I also noticed him in all of the ensemble bits, a real standout. The baker was sooo good, I loved his emotion. It felt so real and his voice is so smooth. The last two were honestly also so amazing
They're all so good! Tony's and Luke's performances were so passionate. And John's was so dynamic! But i think i'm in love with Sky 😍 what a fun performance
It's kinda weird when they don't feature a great performer who's not maybe "in shape" but still made it to the Jimmy Awards! Like they are pretty too. Why make them feel so bad? They deserve more than being an ensemble member.
Joseph doesn’t do that much in the musical itself... Jake must’ve made a very big impression on the people who nominated him for this award! Makes me kinda wish that they made Close Every Door part of this medley instead..

I believe this is the strongest Jimmy Medley I have ever seen. I will be looking out for these boy's names in lights!
Adrian Villegas was absolutely phenomenal!!??!! Such a good distinctive difference between Jekyll and Hyde, and his last note was so crisp!
I got to watch him in the show and he was absolutely incredible. I had chills the entire time
How did he not get more applause!? Very impressed!
Adrian needs to be hired immediately and someone please post his full performance in jekyll and Hyde

Literally every single person in this medley is so talented, there is not a single week link
They all sounded so great, and I really loved the voice of the guy who played Joseph. I love the tone of his voice😍😍
Jake Pedersen!! Oh, he did such a good job and his coat is fabulous! I cant wait to see what the future has for him.
He's going to make his Broadway debut as Frankie Epps in "Parade" this month :)
This has got to be the best (male) medley yet! They all have great costumes, which is is rare. And more importantly, they all did amazing!!

The Sweeney's were great!!
Oh and Frank Abagnale, Jr.! Both of them. Absolutely incredible!
Props to the actors as well as the director for this Medley!

Find someone who looks at you the way the first Frank looks at the second Frank
The first Frank is Nick and he’s one of my absolute best friends lol
Jekyll and Hyde took my breath away!
Sweeney and Jekyll/Hyde are the two best male roles in musical theater change my mind
I'm a big fan of Beast from yknow, Beauty & The:, but I get it. Also Hades from Hadestown
tony moreno's voice is so beautiful and mature

This group was so strong! My favorites: Don Quixote, both Sweeney Todds, Jekyll/Hyde and Moonface Martin
Justin Rivers absolutely killed it
that into someone elses skin duet easily the most slept on performance this year
I'm sad they didn't have Jake do Close every door- I saw him in the show and it was PHENOMINAL. He's an extremely talented young man
Absolutely phenomenal!!
The backup singing for Seymour is hilarious!
what high school does Man of La Mancha??
Every. Single. Boy. Came. To. Slay.
Is the audio muted or is my phone just not working
WOOOOOAAAAHHH! Let’s go Sam!!👏
Justin Rivers is AMAZING!
Why was Jekyll and Hyde so short?
I saw Sam Primack as Evan in the Dear Evan Hansen touring cast last year and he was incredible!!
The guys from group #3 were just a bit better than group#1.
Sky frank !!!
Justin Rivers❤️❤️❤️
seymore slays me

That beard tho
Jake Pedersen♥️♥️♥️
Adrian was really good at switching from Jekyll to Hyde.
wowowowowowwow that’s all i can say wow
The first Sweeney looks like Benedict Cumberbatch. Also, even though I love Antonio in the first group, these boys take it for me.
the first frank jr. really loves himself, doesnt he:)
Omg I'm gonna miss Justin at school 😭😭
TONY 😍
Go Jake!!!!
name a better medley than this i’ll wait
It's kinda weird when they don't feature a great performer who's not maybe "in shape" but still made it to the Jimmy Awards! Like they are pretty too. Why make them feel so bad? They deserve more than being an ensemble member.
Sheikh Nafis Muhtade what do u mean
I LOVE YOU JUSTIN ❤❤❤
Jekell and Hyde was amazing
Joseph doesn’t do that much in the musical itself... Jake must’ve made a very big impression on the people who nominated him for this award! Makes me kinda wish that they made Close Every Door part of this medley instead..
JUSTIN KILLS ME AGH SLAY
The Sweeney Todds were actually objecting to feeding humans to plants instead of other humans.
The last guy would make a great Evan Hansen
i’m pretty sure that he’s currently evans understudy on broadway
mia n. I think it was a joke
