UNISA is perfect, anyone who understand how to SELL themselves, can do anything in this life, and don't ever fear the interviewer, they WANT YOU to be the person, sell them on it! I'm a boytjie from the Northern Cape who starter delivering Scooters pizzas at 16, now I have dual citizenship, earn R300K per month and I live in three countries. I WOULD STUDY AT UNISA before I study anywhere else. Looking at Property Law and Tax Law, I currently have a BSc in Computer Systems, but I've been lucky to be self employed. I just always find myself fending creditors off my family members with words and I get things done much quicker when I CC my lawyers in on emails. So I want to help people in the law perspective. I'll be retired in 5 years, at 40, so I'd like to be able to segway into a career that I feel is network based.
Thank you for yet another informative and motivational episode. Im a final year Unisa student, and I so happen to have chosen banking law and and usage and Tax Law as my electives.😅Im super excited and ready for the challege.
Feel so proud to be a UNISA Alumni, I'm currently serving my articles. What I've seen is being a UNISA student requires a great deal of determination, you must have a strong resolve to succeed. Do those extra mural activities, definitely helps.
I remember asking for this, back then this year... and you said you were working on it, did you lie? NO, you delivered, thanks a lot a lot... I can't wait... ❤❤❤
@@atleganggovuza6733I will be retiring in a few years but I have 6 months a year, and I'm wondering if it's possible to do it in the 6 months, or if you HAVE to study while working, is it doable
Thank you. I can tell you that UNISA is just as good if not better, you learn to be independant. Former UNISAns do well in Board exams and LLMs at other institutions that are deemed as prestigious. If you are at UNISA, all is not lost, do your modules, get good grasp of the content, get good marks, get vac work as soon as you finish your year 1 at the latest. All the best.
I’m a law student at Unisa, this is motivating 👽 Unisa is top 10 best universities in South Africa. can’t say the same with Vut, TuT, UL etc. nyenyew Unisa degrees are useless 😂
I enjoyed watching this. It was very insightful, I am also doing my LLB through UNISA and hearing what people say about the institution can be very discouraging but I will definitely use the tips from this episode, thank you so much Atlegang you are doing the Lord's work ❤
I too study at Unisa and I am currently 3rd year. I did vac work at a big 5 firm and secured articles for 2025. It is possible. When it came to time management and doing work, I was equal to and according to me better than some of the students from the household universities. Work hard, get good marks and make sure you have a kick ass CV. You never have to feel inferior because you are at Unisa. The people there made a comment that because I study at Unisa I must be the hardest worker in the room. I believe that to be true and you all know that when you study at Unisa you are on your own, so you have to be independent and innovative. If you have any questions you can pop a question at this comment and I will visit it every so often and try to help.
Hey Emily I too am a third year student at UNISA and I’m struggling to secure a mere vac program. I’m also struggling with my third year modules . I need some assistance in both aspects.
@MakiMokone-tp3tn Hey Maki. Well, with the third year modules, as you know, the work volume as well as the demand on the level of answering has increased drastically. What I would suggest is starting early and working your way through the work systematically. Do the questions at the end of each learning unit (in the study guides) and send an email to the lecturers if something in the material is unclear to you. Then with the vac work. Your CV is the most important thing. It has to be without spelling or grammatical mistakes and be easy to read. You have to essentially sell yourself. Microsoft Word has nice templates that you can work from. Also, don't be afraid to send an email to law firms (even if they are considered 'small') in your area asking for a shaddow opportunity. Most would agree to it, and it would also bolster your CV. I hope this helps. Always work hard and give your best, I know you can do it.
I work at a law firm, started out as a secretary and am now a paralegal, doing my LLB 3rd year at UNISA and have just started applying for articles. Was worried about all that's being said about UNISA but you just calmed me down.
Great episode! I didn’t study Law at UNISA but BAcc and I found this really helpful as someone who’s looking to get into the workplace. I wish I networked more while i was still in Uni and took as many modules as I could to put myself in good standing in landing my dream job
I am an accounting science student at UNISA and I agree with her , you need to stop procrastinating and plan your studies. Also you need to be active and volunteer or work it helps
Lovely, great chat...thanks for bringing her in Atlegang 👌🏼😊 i like this platform, I've known Jula for some years now, yet there's stuff through her journey that i didn't know about. @Jula you've always been a disciplined hard worker. May you continue conquering and breaking boundaries buddy ❤
Hey there beautiful ladies! Shoo, Jula's journey is completely unique hey. I have never ever heard of such a route that she has taken, wow I'm astonished. And as she has related the different steps to completing her degree, sounds very complicated with too much admin as opposed to the route of the conventional universities we know. I have a question Atli, what do you mean you want to do a short-course on tax? Wasn't this module part and parcel of your BCom Degree as it is a commerce degree afterall🤔🤔 and what is the M and A you were talking about in the video? Thank you for this sit-down Atli.✌
The content is top tier as usual(can’t wait to watch it all) BUT can I just say I missed Atlegang 😊my heart leaped for joy when I saw your upload❤ Keep Shining Ma’am🎉
@Atlegang I wanna know like can I still work at a law firm similar to ENS Africa but as a admitted advocate, because I'm going to be serving pupillage soon so I wanted to know if can I still be a legal advisor at a law firm?
Hi there. No you can’t be an advocate in a law firm. You would have to complete your articles and become an attorney. So once registered as an advocate of the High Court, you have to remove your name from the roll of advocates to pursue being an attorney (and vice versa). You can always switch back but it’s either one or the other
Don't forget Unisa is currently the 7th best university in South Africa. I have much respect for it and thank for you this reassurance. 👏🙌
