OMGosh...more fun projects with my 8-year-old grandson who spends lots of time drawing in my scrap room. Have tons of those foam shapes for every season etc. that they use for their projects. Thank You! Bonnie
Actually you CAN use letters and numbers. Used on tissue paper, wax paper, or deli paper, just turn the paper over after stamping. I love to turn over my printed translucent papers! More mysterious texture.
I watched a UA-cam video the other night where she used foam stamps. Today I thought surely I could make my own. Found your video, and now I'm anxious to get started on making some! Thanks for this video! 😁
Just viewed a couple of people used that sticky back foam and put it thru a die cut machine and made stamps with. You always have such great ideas. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I love your methods, way better than the messing with potatoes. Plus I love the idea of using the tissue paper for journals. I can't wait to try it out.
I have all the supplies, finally, as a noob, to do this project and a 5x7 Gel Press. I need to set aside a big event for making 5-6 of these! Great tutorial, and so timely for me. Thanks James!
Foam stamps are always fun! Thanks for sharing your way to make them! Oh and any regular PVA glue will do the job 😁. Often way cheaper than all these branded white glues especially made for... They’re all just PVA glue with a bit of an adapted formula. Just like Mod Podge kind of glues are watered down PVA glues 😁. Buy for convenience, but DIY to save 💰
Fun foam stamps are a blast.....you can get 6mm foam on the big A......you can make impressions on the fun foam and also use acrylic paint..the sticky back foam works the best.... I’m a self confessed foam stamp maker......mraz
James, you can make a stamp pad for your foam stamps by brayering paint into a sheet of the foam. I stick my foam shapes onto the old wooden blocks my kids have out grown and then “ink” them up by depressing them into the homemade stamp pad.
You can also use your metal dies, I made heaps of new foam stamps with my dies, using both negative and positive, as well as all the cut offs. This is completely addictive lol.
Thank You for sharing your process on these... I think this would be great fun to make and to use for my own art projects... AND .. What a fun day of crafting with kids !! Nobody is going to be worried about little ones damaging the "good stamps" .. just crafting with abandon.. ( and shouldn't it always be that way ) .. thanks again.. great video ! : )
Do you have already tried a gel printing plate? This is the most fun thing ever and you get totally carried away with monoprinting. Of course I would love to see a video on this, but no pressure. 🤣 but I totally enjoy my gelli plate I recently bought and also made several diy tools for textures and shapes for the prints. Just love it! 💗
And on a gelli plate you could use the letters and numbers that would be mirrored... because the second turn (gelli plate to paper) will mirror them again and they are right placed!
Do you wash the paint off the foam stamps when you finish the project or do you let it dry on the foam each time to make it more rigid? The stamps look great.
Love this idea, so fantastic, thanks!!!! Do you wipe the paint off after each use with a baby wipe or do you just let it dry and then keep applying paint each time you use it then chuck it when it's too grungy?
Lovely video, as always. It might be just me...but I'm sure that on some occasions I can hear your accent is changing..ever so slightly? Its funny :-) Hope you don't lose the aussie in you lol.
Why did you say “You can’t use acrylics with your photo polymer stamps?” That’s all I ever use. Just wondering if something terrible is going to happen any day now. ;o)

Lots of Love, Light and Laughter!
What a fun video. I love making stamps with fun foam. I save all the chipboard back so of my paper tablets.
Love the ideas and love your laugh.
You have wonderful ideas, thanks for demonstrating your techniques.

Hi James, I use those interlocking kids large foam blocks for backing, and for shapes.
Oh totally! Thats a great idea!!!!
With some various hill and tree shapes, stamping these around would be a fun exercise in composing illustrated landscapes.
I love your methods, way better than the messing with potatoes. Plus I love the idea of using the tissue paper for journals. I can't wait to try it out.
I just love you!! You bring such a joyful vibe to everything you do. You're a beautiful spirit, James. Thank you!! 💗 Bless
Your ideas are very useful and easy for application. Thank you .
Thanks! This is really encouraging to watch! For some reason, I get nervous about starting a project.

Thanks for reminding me about making stamps from craft foam. I did it several years ago and kinda forgot about making more. 😻❤️

I love this idea.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to film this video of "for the thrill of playing" :)

Good tutorial! Thank you ❤
It’s November 2020. I enjoyed your video. I will try this tomorrow. Hope all is well with you. 🤗
Awesome, thank you!
So love this! I love the creative freedom this provides. Your demonstrate has been the most effective I've seen. TFS

This gave me that push to finally try this!! Been wanting too but get lazy😆but now my head is swirling with ideas so thank you!
Great idea. I just found foam in my closet the other day and wondered what I could do with that, now I know. 😀
This is fantastic! Love your stamps and your philosophy. So happy I found it. :)
I’ve been wanting to make these for some time... Thanks for the inspiration!!
Never thought about doing this. Coola ideas
Hi James, greetings from England. This was a GREAT video. Thank you!
Beautiful! Could you please tell me the specific brand of paint you used? I quite like the colors and the tub packaging.
They're "Dylusions" paints :)

Gelli plate was my first thought too.
This looks so fun. Thank you for the very fun relaxing video. Im going to try this. :)
I've only made smaller foam stamps and love them. I would like to see how you use your stamps and the stamped pieces you made in a journal.
Fun!!!! I’m gonna invite the grandkids to make me a box of foam stamps!!!!!!!!
Awesome Tutorial!!!!
I so wanna make stamps now!
Hello, thanks for your video! I still have a question: can we stamp directly on a canvas, like for a painting background?
I don’t see why not? :)
Wow 🤩
'cause I draw so many train stations... 😂 Lol
Do you wash the paint off the foam stamps when you finish the project or do you let it dry on the foam each time to make it more rigid? The stamps look great.
I friggin loved this 🇬🇧
Maybe if you pressed using an acrylic stamp block over your homemade stamp it would be easier to avoid getting the cardboad pattern?
Love!!!!
love James thank you could that shape be a rainbow x

You got it, hahah, keep applying and then toss. To be honest, none of them have become unusable yet and still stamp well :)
James Burke I love your channel you are so funny and soooo creative and I love your videos and your artwork!!!!xo
Love it!
Very Cool. =) you made lots of really pretty ones. =)
Adorables ideas. So much fun. Hugs from Spain. Im following in Instagram too 😉💕
Where did you get the foam shapes?
The kids craft section at Michaels :)
What kind of paint did u use
CAN YOU USE ACRYLIC PAINT?
Lovely video, as always. It might be just me...but I'm sure that on some occasions I can hear your accent is changing..ever so slightly? Its funny :-) Hope you don't lose the aussie in you lol.

Nami from just one cookbook used the same song in her last vlog. I went from her channel to yours and laughed.
How can we reuse these stamps
