@PrimaryArmsOptics
So it's over priced trash ?
I got some more details to share (new video coming up), but overall I’d still buy Holosun. There’s still value to it. I bought two of the same ones. You can still see the target.
Holosuns really good bang for your buck
Not everyone gon drop 600 bucks on an eotech
@@thinix396 Absolutely
@@thinix396 Exactly. Even the “professionals” out there use them for defense or duty use. They’ve been tested over and over.
@@J3o3 I believe Sector 7 (S-7) HDF uses Holosun.
Send it in for warranty. There should be no fogging inside at all. Kinda defeates the purpose of closed emitters.
It’s definitely headed there soon
concur
Send it back to China??
And that’s why you buy trusty American made optics… or Swedish.
@@Hadouken5150Yeah, good luck finding an American made pistol optic, especially a closed emitter one.
Why can't people just talk in their videos? I've had enough of the annoying ass computer or barbie voice. Saying everything for them. So annoying!
Others have said I talk too much in my videos so I decided to hire my assistant robot female. Can’t please everyone 😂

@@crimbullet F everyone... be yourself... it's more admirable.
I agree
@@numbblackpicture See ya 🤷
No thats not acceptable at all. Closed emitter optics should have ZERO fog whatsoever.
They should but I’ve been seeing “higher quality” optics like the ACROS do the same
Right? Should be sealed with argon or something.
@@crimbullet does the fog go away eventually?
My truck is enclosed. Unfortunately, it fogs. Same as my aimpoint aco
We used to put rainx on the lenses in the Army and that would prevent fogging.
Interesting. I’ll have to try that!
"Cat crap" may work better. It's a real product, not clowning, better than rainx for some motorcycle visors.
So how do you apply it inside the sight 😑

Right!!!???
Because that mounting plate is 22 inches thick 😂 wtf
That’s why all these optic mounting solutions from the factory are shit. U want it done right u send your slide out to be milled.
@@9770Gproblem with closed emitter micro dots is that the screws are on the bottom. So milling can't help. That optic needs a plate to be mounted.
@@Orudaiken False, you can mount them direct if the slide is milled properly. For example, EPS Carry & P365
That voice needs to be banned!
seriously. asteroids please 🙏 I can't hear this ai voice again or I'll break my phone.
Your iron sights look super useful..
LOL. Months after posting this, I changed the optic and went to a Leupold Deltapoint Pro where I can now co-witness.
See , the only real life fix for real in the field fix.Good stuff.
OMG, I would be livid mad if that's not a manufacturer defect.
They didn’t say if the fog was inside the unit or outside. That makes a difference.
All these people yapping about fogging. If you’ve ever actually used optics, trained well, and been in real situations, you’d know that you can shoot a target with the optic window COMPLETELY BLOCKED.
That’s why it’s important to keep both eyes open.
Lens Fogging happens when temperatures change too quickly. Hot to cold/ cold to hot, and the optic hasn’t had time to acclimate. This applies to sealed and open optics. Gas inside of seal optics have to adjust to temperature too.
Well said. Finally some logic here! 💯
@@crimbullet No that isn't well said that is somebody that doesn't understand simple science. Fog is condensation of water vapor. If the optic is sealed correctly then there should be no water vapor in there to condense. The gas isn't condensing because the temperatures for that are colder than any weather on the planet. Both of you are numpties that are talking out their backsides.
“I can still see the target a lil bit”
the seal for the emitter is probably cracked letting the moisture in. send it in for repairs or DIY if you know what you’re doing
A little fog? I’d say we prefer no fog.
Exactly
Your rear sight shifted between the beginning and the end of this short. And a little internal fogging is a big deal. Any fog should be external.
A ittle fog in it means it didnt work.... water got inside.... I think its the battery compartment that is not sealing.
"What happens when rain lands on your holosun optic??"
It gets wet...
😂
Imagine paying money for an optic that doesn't have gas fill, jfc irons are free all day you gonna press the front sight anyways unless gay.
What happens is that the rain landing on the optic has it's means of production seized by the proletariat.
EPS carry. Fog on the outside.. it’s called humidity guys calm down 😂 happens to mine all the time. Just wipe it off. Plus… maybe invest in irons that actually cowitness 😂
The alien gear rapid force holster has a integraded optic cover been using it for almost 2 years now and its great
Looking forward to your video on this and thank you for doing this for us.
My open emitter holosun works in the rain as long as the emitter doesn't fill with water. Then i just flip it sideways quickly to dump it out and its back. I am going to move to a closed emitter eventually, but it works well enough.
Excellent visualization. With an open emitter after the first shot, the recoil tends to clear the water from the emitter. The problem is you have to justify the first shot if you are using for self-defense purposes. The other method is what you just described.
They make an anti fog/anti moisture lens cleaner and protector called “Cat Crap” (yeah I know the name isn’t exactly appealing 😂 but) this stuff works great. I use it on all my optics, lights and my PVS14. Comes in a small container and doesn’t take but a smidge to apply on a lens and then just wipe it off. Also helps with light lenses that get carbon buildup on them. Having that coating on there helps when it’s time to clean the lens and everything just wipes right off. No solvents needed. Plus I think it’s like 5 bucks on Amazon and one small container will last forever
The problem is that the moisture was stuck inside the lens.
No fog and still works on a RMR type 2 when rained on
What I’m sayin 😂 my Trijicon don’t do this shiet
RMR is open reticle so I would hope so?
For how much one of those cost it should not fog up at all !
Should’ve saved a little longer for the Aimpoint.
I can’t think of any Aimpoint products that should be put on a handgun at this point of time.
@@crimbullet ACRO p2.
@@Hadouken5150 I’m sorry. I stand corrected. Yes, the Acro p2 is the way to go
@@crimbulletthey have had this exact same problem recorded. Same with Steiner.

Lmfao. “Enclosed” but gets foggy?
I’ll stick with my Aimpoints, EOTechs, and Trijicons.
I have a 509T and I have taken a shower in full kit for about an hour with no issue. If you are fogging you need to check and see if you cracked it or something.
Proof or it didn’t happen
@@SomberlainTx I'll make a Tactical Gear Shower OF
It fogged up because it’s not filled with Nitrogen.
Either that or, the most likely case, the seal around one of the lenses was faulty (and the gas got out as a consequence).
Red dots might have some disadvantages, so I would rather prefer iron sights + laser light combo.
Sprays water on own optics. Boy I'm glad I got the closed emitter version.
Lmao
Maybe a safarilands rds holster will prevent that
It won’t
Pros and cons to anything. However I’m not ready for the closed optic yet. When I am ready, it will be an Aimpoint.
I got a Holosun GR407K on sale for either 200 or 225 💪
It just fogs up and or blurs the dot. Hmm almost like a non existent problem with iron sights
Ive never had any problems with any of my holosun optics in any condition
I’ll remember to get one when I start carrying in the shower 😂
Hahahaha 🤦🏽♂️
At the end of the just buy what makes you happy and feel cool. I buy stuff that I want regardless of what any expert or salesman says. I’m a tradesmen and I know a thing or two about tools. The difference between quality valuable tools that make you money and the shit tools that just make you lose your patience and money. But you won’t understand each tool until you actually start using your tools and breaking them.
I work hard for my money so I don’t waste it on cheap tools anymore.
Buy it once, regret once!
Well said
Buddy was in the rain for the first one and the second one he was obviously under cover out of the rain
Ye’ ol iron sights will forever reign supreme my lads!
Glass when you hold it out in the rain: Gets condensation AKA a little bit of foggy-ness
EOtech snobs: (gasps) I'll have you know that my optic defies physics.
😅
You butt hurt you can't afford one 😂😂😂
Nitrogen filled optics don't fog up, the seal on that thing must be fucked. Spotty QC is a recurring issue with cheaper products.
@@lucastonoli3256 They can still fog on the outside... are you really this daft?
@@thomgizziz that's not fog, that's just water on a surface.
Fog is from the temperature differential of the cool rain drops hitting the warmer glass. It's on the outside. You can see in the video.
What about thunderstorms from the sand storm😂
Yeah you don’t want any fog in it
If any object doesn't work after it gets wet I don't want it
Thumbs down for the tiktok crap
What’s the point of being enclosed if it can fog up from water entering the optic? You’d be better off with a regular optic that you can wipe dry and not have to wait for fog to burn off
Your optic has a leak. You need to send it in for warranty.
I did. They have an excellent warranty program.
Yea for all the shooting in the rain and egressing water insertions we do
beautiful Scottish weather
Fog????? Eotech would never
Automatic “don’t recommend channel” press when I hear the stupid robot voice
My half a dozenTrijicon RMRs work when they get wet and it doesn't get fog in them lol. My aimpoints don't get fog in them either 🤷🏻♂️ and I don't support the CCP with any of my optics.
Interesting. I don’t get that on my rmr
I have a RMR as well and it also fogged up that same day when I brought out my Glock 22 (RMR is mounted to it)
Don’t even gotta worry with irons.
The same thing that happens when it gets on an open emitter… absolutely nothing.
My 509t is the best pistol optic ive ever owned. Even better than the Acro.
Like carrying a brick on your pistol though. Looks ridiculous
Who stands in the rain with their setup?
Dumb people like me filming content 🤷🏽♂️ 😂
so if it was in the rain all day it probably wouldn't work
Watsup with the 6000 moa ring lol
😆
Bro spent all his money on the blick but had barely any money for the optic
😂 😂 😂
wait, whats the point of the raised irons if you still cant use em?
Upgrade to acro p2
The Acro P2 have had this exact same problem recorded. Same with the Steiner.
I guess it shrinks your irons, cause those babies aren't making it over the base of the rds.
Yes. The rear irons are not visible.
That plate is ruining everything
Iron sights could never
The real question is, why would you put an optic on a ccw pistol??
Rapid target acquisition
Hey bud an enclosed dot isn’t supposed to fog up on the inside that means it’s not enclosed properly it loses the whole point of it
It’s not and defeats the whole purpose. Unfortunately, the higher priced optics like the ACRO have done the same
It blows up
😂
but its Holosun so nobody expects much
Needs a better holster. Suggest alein gear rapid duty holster
It is being replaced by Safariland 6360RDS. Alien does not make one for Staccato
Shawn sindell from NJ ?
Shouldn't happen when these are niteogen purged!
Holosun needs to bring their prices back down to where they used to be. These chinese optics got way overpriced from all the hype.
Lol all y’all don’t understand how the closed retical works saying the fog is bad the retical comes apart in 3 peices and is not water tight but the red dot itself is water proof
Rainx baby
Why tf do you have those big ass iron sights just to buy a red dot thats sooo big that you cant co witness
Wasn't purged properly
“The reticle still works”
Then why is it not visible at all
What that's not good lol a little fog, 100000% unacceptable 🤣
What happens when rain lands on your gun period

This is exactly why I choose to stay away from closed emitter optics. They will eventually get moisture on the inside and fog up.

A little fog lmao shouldn’t get any at all
“That’s all” Lolol doesn’t that defeat the purpose of it being a closed emitter? That optic is not sealed properly and should be returned. Are they all like this?
I have no idea.
That is a fail. It’s shouldn’t fog up
Any pistol intended for due to use, needs to be in a holster intended for Duty use..... AKA a holster with a hood, and active retention.
It's just that simple
Not really. US Border Patrol runs no hood; just the ALS system. Open top.
Just because a particular agency doesn't use something doesn't mean it's not ideal. There's a lot that goes into equipment that gets issued for different agencies and department. Budget as well as contracts ect. If they don't issue red dots on their pistols (idk if they do) it wouldn't even be something they would have considered.
But I firmly stand by what I said. A real duty holster should protect the optic from the elements. 100%
And irons should absolutely be cowitnessed. If you can't co-witness irons with a setup, that setup needs to be ditched. I would rather run just irons versus a Red Dot with no backup irons.
But BOTH are ideal. And active retention REGARDLESS.
Ok. I see what you’re are saying now. When you consider RDS, it makes sense. I agree about the holster covering the RDS. That’s why I don’t use this particular holster anymore. I’ve transitioned to the Safariland 6360 RDS Level 3 with the optic enclosure. As for the optic, it’s no longer in use since I could not co-witness.
The sights don’t even come up to the optic
The optic has been replaced- that was one of two reasons
@@crimbullet oh
A little fog?? Huh?
Just saying if it's registered and if you haven't been beating the fuck out of it
Send it back lol.
HS is great with the warranty stuff
I already sent it back and got a replacement. Pretty quick
Not a good ad. A little fog is no good. U can get water on the 508 and everything works, so what's the diff?
One is an open and the other is a closed emitter. If you get water or debris on the 508’s emitter, you have to shake it off.
@@crimbullet I carry a 508, my window looks same as urs with water, minus the fog. And I can still get a sight picture, when it's wet, so I shoot, water flies off, problem solved.
@@joegasparro2395 I see what you’re saying, but that is the issue. You have to fire a shot to get the water off, right? In a self-defense situation, you might not be justified to fire that one shot that is used to get the water off. I could see on a flat range that will not be an issue, but in a self-defense context where you have blood, liquid, or even sweat that gets on the emitter, you’ll have an issue. I actually don’t carry the 509 anymore. About three weeks after I publish the video, I took it off of my duty gun. I run an open emitter now (Leupold DPP). A fog issue that you mentioned, is going to have to be addressed through the warranty. That’s not acceptable.
@@crimbullet Yeah, I'm essentially saying it's the same. I think the closed emitter train is a bit overblown. Sure, it protects the emitter, but not as big a deal as the internet makes it out IMO.
@Joe Gasparro Yes, and that is one of the several reasons why I removed the 509 from my gun and I was okay with buying two Leupold DPP
Uhhhhh, yeah no, closed emitters are for mud not rain, personally filled an rmr emitter with water and it worked fine, closed emitters with rain give you two walls of light bending water droplets to distort your view, open emitter only has one of those, mud on the other hand will stop a dot so if mud is common for you then closed emitter all the way, as it’s easier to wipe glass then to wipe the emitter, that’s literally the difference
How is anybody supposed to read this
Also if it’s wet “just wipe the glass”. Your single lens has 2 sides, by double lens has 2 sides. It’s the same
So you're saying every aimpoint and eotech can't be used in the rain? You don't know what you are talking about.
@@User-r5w2n he seems to think the most popular style and brands of red dot aren't made for rain.
@@yusriyahbagheri8843 I said its 2x the raid droplets that can interfere with your view vs the one main lense on an open emitter red dot, never said they're useless, If you want a "rain proof" red dot you'd need, windshield wipers, hydrophobic glass, or something like the holosun AEMS with two clear flip up covers that can be disengaged when the rain/water clears
Also aimpoints and eotechs are shit change my mind.
Weird to hear this robo voice for a Gina video

This video is so cursed

I have seen open emitters that look better when wet. I'm not impressed for the money.
Eh. I'll just put a little rainx on my rmr.
