Jam is typically chopped or crushed fruit that's cooked in suger and pectin, usually more suger than fruit until it's nice and thickened. Whereas jelly has no fruit it's the liquid not the fruit , it requires a lot more pectin to get that to set.
I just wanted to say thanks for your celpip videos. I watched them all before my test. I was well prepared however I struggled with listening as the noise of people around me completely made me lose my focus. So i scored an 8 in listening and a 12 in speaking. Forever grateful for your videos! FYI, if you put a thin layer of pb on each layer the bread wont get soggy. ;D
My son was eating PB & J while watching this episode, he was super excited to learn more about it because this is his favorite food! and for the Eggnog, it's a drink made from a mixture of beaten eggs, cream, and spices, often with alcohol.
Thanks a ton for the tasty & hearty treat🙏 teacher! As always Phenomenal video!👏👏👏👍 I love that pb & j recipe so much!👌 It looks amazing! Stay safe & take care of yourself too teacher!🙋♀️
In the U.S., jam is jam and jelly is jelly and they are not called the same. Different people have different preferences. Some don't like chunks of stuff in their food. Some like smooth. So you buy jelly when you want smooth and jam when you don't. I also think some fruits, like grapes, aren't suitable for jam. Both jam and jelly have their uses and their fans. Jelly is not about being cheap. It's just a different product with different characteristics.
Hi! PB&J is a very simple food for children that needs about one minute to be prepared but my wife and I have been become empty nesters. Vocabulary: peanut butter and jelly (PB&J), versatile, jam, it's jiggling around, consistency, sealed, diagonally, lactose intolerant, dunk the bread in the milk, perilous times. Take care!
Hi! Watching your video the second time the second time loughing. I have never tasted peanut butter, but I guess it's interchangeable with cow butter. Some years ago we used to make similar sandwiches with cow butter and jam at work at night. I called such meal "late dinner" or "early breakfast". It was really versatile food which became a perilous habit. Perilous for the figure. We quit this habit to prevent the sedimentation of extra jiggly fat on the sides and dead setting on losing weight. But now you make your pb&j with a such joy, that it makes the mouth water😋😋😋So during watching I took "early breakfast" twice😁Yep, I like to drink raw milk, but milk doesn't love me...Anyways, thank you so much for this exciting episode. Great job, as always!!!👍👏👏
Hi! 😃😃 Thank you so much for watching my video twice! Wow, I can't believe you've never had peanut butter! You're right, it's a perilous habit! Haha. Hopefully this summer I can lose some weight. I've been eating too many early breakfasts. 😁 Take care!

Hallöchen Mark!!! What a question!!! Yes, of course, I LOVE PB & J sandwiches!!!😋😋😋 Like you said quite rightly, it's a real treat!!!👍👍👍 My first two attempts to make home-made peanut butter failed miserably!!! Now I'm starting to get the hang of it!!! I prefer eating PB & J sandwiches for breakfast, for I need something sweet first thing in the morning!!! From my perspective, it's a very nutritious and scrumptious food!!! Go for it, Mark, you're 100 percent strong enough to open up these jars with the greatest of ease!!!💪💪💪 Nope, I wouldn't say I have any jiggly fat on my body, though I don't have a lot of muscles either!!! 555!!!😂😂😂 The way I see it, jam is made of whole fruit, whereas jelly is made of fruit juice!!! In German we distinguish between Marmelade, Konfitüre and Gelee!!! Gelee means jelly!!! Within the EU it's only allowed to call something "Marmelade", when it's made of citrus fruits!!! Jam, made of any other fruit is called "Konfitüre" here!!! There's probably no kind of fruits I haven't tried to make jam or jelly of so far!!!😁😁😁🍇🥭🍍🍒🍓🍑🍏 Last summer I made water-melon-jam!!! It turned out surprisingly delicious!!! Thank goodness I'm not lactose intolerant!!! I've already tasted almond milk, oat milk and soy milk, the latter was my least favorite milk substitute!!! The reason may be that I dislike soy products generally!!! By and large I'll surely always prefer drinking real milk!!! Yep, we're excited too!!!👍👍👍 Let's do a taste test immediately, please!!!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 Thanks for the yummy PB & J sandwich!!! Hi Chef Mark👨🍳Big thanks for making a video of one of my favourite sandwich spread! The truth, is, after watching your video the night before, I make sure to have an PBJ sandwich for my breakfast. Btw, I love jam more than jelly cause it has real fruits. Hey Mark, Is there any chance you might know Mr Magnificent Mumford? Well if not, he’s the magician character from Sesame Street-A Children Television Program aimed to educate kids with numbers, alphabet and so on. I mentioned this because it was him who introduced the peanut butter and jelly sandwich us. It’s his favorite sandwich too, In fact whenever he’ll do some magic trick, he’ll say “ A la peanut butter sandwiches!”🎩🐇 So I would say, PBJ is an American thing. Wow! You’re really strong! I am very confident that you can open the sealed jar with your bare hands with ease. I can’t do that for I have a weak grip. But there are other ways to open it . Like we can insert the flat tip of a bread knife under the edge of the lid’s rim and carefully pry the lid away from the jar. Working our way around the rim to loosen the seal. That’s how I do it.🥫🥫 You know what, I love dunking my sandwich to milk or coffee. Probably it sounds terrible to some but, hey to each his own😋 Thanks again for this wonderful lesson about PBJ. Till the next English Cooking Lesson, God speed!🌻

In italy we prefer toasted bread wuth butter and jam.
