Yea and you are not supposed to use how do you do? To someone you already know. But she asks all of them even though she knows all of them. How do you do is used when you are introduced to someone for the first time and the answer remains the same.

Why do Nigerians (especially women) like making British accent? Is it that they're not proud of their Nigerian accent or it's bad?
My dear, the English language belongs to the British not Nigeria and I am not proud that we are still speaking English still since after colonization, if they are sounding British, nothing wrong with that, Nigeria don't have or own accent in English language. Our accent and language should be Igbo, Yoruba, etc, not some foreign enforced language.

When you say Nigerians don't "own" an accent, are you trying to say you can't differentiate American and British English? Or can't you tell when an Igbo, Yoruba or hausa man speaks without asking them where they're from?
@@teresasongo6114 in a nutshell, what I am trying to say is that what we should be speaking is our own native language or languages not English. You're complaining that they are sounding like the colonizers rather than sounding less or with a mother tongue, don't forget "they" colonized us, the English belongs to them whether or not they speak it in Nigerian accent, Indian accent or Kenyan accent, it is still English and it is a foreign language. Don't ever forget the basic reason why people speak English or any other language is primarily for communication purposes and not accent. What I expected you to be complaining about is why they are not speaking Yoruba, Igbo, etc. You are still sleeping like majority of the nollywood actors and actresses who prefer English language, dress English, laugh English, eat English, dance English, loves everything English except their indigenous traditional/cultural heritage. If you see Genevieve, ask her why Netflix rejected her movie and learn from her answers. I think you need to do more research and start thinking deep.

The audience had a variety of other African countries like Ghana, Kenya, etc. I don't have issues with them speaking their mother tongue. We have other countries who were also being colonised by one foreign country or another yet they don't "COPY" their accent

Or every Nigerian schooled or studied in Nigeria, there are millions of NIGERIANS scattered around the globe so you don't expect all of them to have the same accent, do you? It doesn't matter if people from other African countries are there in attendance, if Nigeria decides to adopt for example; Yoruba and Igbo as their official language, other AFRICANS from other countries will be mandated to speak both languages in other for them to be part of nollowood movies or would you go to Hollywood and tell them that they should speak Yoruba or Swahili because you can't speak English?, I don't think so, for you to be part of Hollywood movies, you must learn how to speak English language. If Africa (Nigeria) do the same, I don't see anything wrong with it, it should have been so for Decades. I wonder when they will realize it. Seems we are still mentally colonized. I guess you won't understand anything I have said because you love English very much and probably * might not know your native language or do you?. Just enjoy the video and stop complaining about irrelevant things.
The Host is friendly with the guest which is a positive thing however I wish she could do away with the question “ who are u expecting tonight “ as it sounds patronising and irrelevant . She is fluent when talking which makes her professional in her job .The host has a stunning figure -I would have advise against the colour and style of her dressing .She needs a lovely coloured dress that compliments and flaunts are beautiful figure .

It's actually a valid question. Even if not, some questions are also used as a break ice, but fun moment and not really meant to be taken seriously.

-Who do u think will take the award for the best comedy tonight and why ?
-What was yr favourite part of filming ( name of the Flim )
She should try and ask the guest different questions after all she is a confident young lady with excellent communication skills just need to improve on her questioning skills that’s all.
Lol I understand your concern but I can remember only speaking to 2 nominees and questions were asked about their works. Also, questions are repeated for productions of this kind because it aids smoothness of thoughts for viewers. It’s the same way you give same question in a vox pop. If you follow other works, you will understand the dynamics.

Sara None of course, your criticism is acknowledged, just sharing with you what prompted the decision to maintain some questions. Also, the AMVCA skipped one year, means last one was for 2018. Most of the movies nominated are old and people are not interested in the process of filming it or challenges faced because it’s been mentioned when the movies were sizzling and these actors have better projects in 2020. It was only okay to move on.
